Assemble a Secretlab chair from the wheelbase upward, using the guide and video for your exact model. On the TITAN Evo, the practical order is casters and wheelbase, hydraulic piston and sleeve, tilt mechanism, backrest, covers and hardware, armrest tops, then the magnetic head pillow. Secretlab says most users take about 20 minutes, but the correct model guide matters because hardware and details differ between chair families.
Before tightening anything, identify every part and tool, and keep the chair supported while turning it upright. If a structural part is damaged, a component is missing, or a problem remains after the official adjustment procedure, stop and contact Secretlab Support rather than improvising a repair.
Before you start
Confirm the chair model
Find the exact model and size on your order information, packaging, or chair documentation. Use that model’s printed instructions and assembly video. A TITAN Evo, TITAN Evo Lite, and Classics chair can use different hardware or accessory combinations, so a sequence that looks similar is not a substitute for the supplied guide.

Prepare a safe workspace
- Clear a flat area large enough to lay the wheelbase, seatbase, and backrest down without catching them on furniture.
- Use a surface that will not scratch the upholstery or aluminum base. Keep small screws and bits in a tray or container.
- Have another person help support the chair when the backrest and tilt mechanism are attached and when the chair is turned upright.
- Do not proceed if the wheelbase, a caster, the hydraulic piston, tilt mechanism, or any other structural part is visibly damaged.
Check the TITAN Evo parts and toolkit
The following inventory is the set Secretlab lists for the TITAN Evo. Your model may have a different list; use your model guide as the final authority.

Lay out the parts before starting. If an item listed for your model is absent, stop and contact Secretlab instead of attempting to complete a load-bearing joint with a substitute screw or tool.
Step-by-step assembly
1. Install the casters in the wheelbase
Place the aluminum wheelbase upside down on the prepared surface. Align each PU caster with its socket and press it into place as shown in the model guide. Check that every caster is fully seated and that no socket is cracked or obstructed. Installing the casters first gives you a complete base for the piston.

2. Fit the hydraulic piston and sleeve
Insert the Class 4 hydraulic piston into the center of the wheelbase, then position the hydraulic sleeve as shown in the instructions. Keep the piston upright and avoid forcing it at an angle. The piston is a structural component; if it is bent, damaged, or does not fit as shown, stop and use Secretlab Support.
3. Attach the tilt mechanism to the seatbase
Place the seatbase so its underside is accessible. Position the multi-functional tilt mechanism according to the guide, including the correct front and rear orientation. Install the supplied screws with the Allen key and tighten them as directed. Attach the height and tilt-lock handles in their specified positions. Do not guess at screw locations: a similar-looking hole can place the mechanism in the wrong orientation.

4. Secure the backrest
With the seatbase and mechanism supported, align the backrest mounting points with the mechanism and seatbase. Have a helper hold the backrest while you start the supplied fasteners by hand. Once all fasteners are started and the backrest is aligned, tighten them with the supplied tool in the order shown by the guide. Keep fingers clear of the joint while the backrest is being held in position.
5. Install the side covers and remaining hardware
Fit the magnetic side covers over the completed backrest and mechanism connection. Check that each cover sits flush and that no cable, fabric, or screw head is trapped beneath it. Complete any remaining hardware steps in the model guide before raising the chair.
6. Turn the chair upright safely
Ask a helper to support the chair while it is tilted upright. Do not pull on the armrests or head pillow to lift it. Once upright, confirm that the wheelbase is stable and that all casters touch the floor before sitting in the chair.
7. Attach the armrest tops
On the TITAN Evo, the armrest tops are CloudSwap-compatible. Align each top with its armrest assembly and press it into place as shown in the instructions. Before making fine adjustments, verify that each top is secure and that its inner-edge release button moves normally.
8. Attach the magnetic head pillow
Position the magnetic memory-foam head pillow against the backrest’s attachment area. Let the magnets locate the pillow rather than twisting or forcing it. Adjust its height after you are seated.

Post-assembly checks
Perform these checks before treating the assembly as complete:

- The piston and sleeve are centered in the wheelbase and connected to the tilt mechanism.
- The backrest is aligned and all supplied fasteners are tightened as specified in the guide.
- Both side covers are flush and do not interfere with the backrest movement.
- Armrest tops are attached and their controls move without binding.
- The height and tilt-lock handles move through their intended range.
- The chair rolls without a caster wobbling or separating from the base.
If any check fails, do not compensate by adding tape, adhesive, non-supplied screws, or another structural workaround. Recheck the model guide, then contact Secretlab Support if the issue remains.
Fix armrests that are too far apart
Use the armrest-top adjustment first
- Sit or stand beside the chair so you can reach the inner edge of the affected armrest.
- Press the black button on the inner edge of the armrest.
- While holding the button, slide the armrest top inward toward the seat.
- Release the button and check that the top locks into position.
This adjustment changes the top’s position without disturbing the armrest’s structural mounting. Repeat on the other side if you want both armrests to match.
Reposition the armrest mounting when more range is needed
If the top adjustment does not bring the armrests close enough, reposition the entire armrest assembly:
- Support the armrest so it does not shift unexpectedly.
- Loosen the three M8 screws under that armrest with the supplied tool. Do not remove or replace them with different screws.
- Shift the armrest closer to the seat.
- Align the armrest and retighten all three M8 screws.
- Check the armrest-top button and slide the top inward for the final position.
Because this operation affects structural hardware, tighten every one of the three screws again and stop if a screw, mounting point, or armrest appears damaged.

Fix rough height adjustment
A rough-feeling height control can result from lubricant not being evenly distributed in the Class IV hydraulic piston. Secretlab’s aftercare procedure redistributes that lubricant without disassembling the piston.
- Sit in the chair.
- Raise the chair to its highest position, then lower it to its lowest position.
- Repeat the full highest-to-lowest movement at least 10 times.
- Leave the chair at its lowest height.
- Rotate the height-adjustment control clockwise for five full turns.
- Rotate it anticlockwise for five full turns.
- Operate the height control again and check whether the movement is smoother.
Do not open the piston or add an unapproved lubricant. If the control remains rough, the chair will not hold its height, or the piston shows physical damage, stop using the chair and send Secretlab Support a description of the symptom. Mechanical issues may be easier for support to assess when you include a short video.
Choose replacement casters or a stationary base
Casters are the clearest physical replacement or upgrade path, but compatibility is model-specific. Identify the chair family and size before ordering, then search using the full model name and verify the accessory listing against your chair.

Do not assume that a caster from another chair fits because its stem looks similar. A wrong fit can leave the wheel partly seated or place uneven load on the base. If the product listing does not explicitly identify your chair family and size, ask Secretlab before ordering.

Missing parts
Stop assembly and photograph the box, packing materials, and the part inventory. Submit a Secretlab support ticket with your order number and photos of the missing area or missing hardware. Do not substitute a bolt, caster, piston, or mechanism from another chair.

Damage found during assembly
Do not tighten around a cracked wheelbase, bent piston, damaged tilt mechanism, stripped mounting point, or broken caster. Take clear photos of the damage and include the order number in your support request. Keep the chair unassembled or supported as directed by support.
Persistent mechanical problems
For a height issue that remains after the lubricant-redistribution procedure, or a tilt, armrest, or caster problem that cannot be corrected using the model guide, contact Secretlab Support. Include a short video for a moving or noisy mechanism when possible, along with photos and the order number. Support can determine whether the part needs service, replacement, or warranty handling.

What maintenance is and is not required
Secretlab states that components such as the armrests and multi-tilt mechanism should not require regular maintenance when used as intended. Routine disassembly is therefore not a remedy for ordinary armrest spacing or tilt-mechanism concerns. Use the documented adjustment steps, keep the supplied hardware secure, and escalate persistent faults through support.
For any issue involving a load-bearing component, the safest course is to stop, preserve the chair and packaging, and provide support with the model, order number, photos, and—when movement is involved—a short video.
