If Claude ends or refuses one conversation, Anthropic’s published account-appeal process does not describe a separate appeal form for that single response. First check whether Claude merely stopped the conversation, issued a warning, or disabled your account. If your account is suspended or terminated, sign in at claude.ai with the affected account and use the appeal form shown in the restricted-account flow.
Identify what happened before appealing
A conversation ending is not, by itself, evidence that your Claude account has been banned. Anthropic’s account-appeal instructions cover suspended or terminated accounts; its safety guidance acknowledges that automated safety mechanisms can make mistakes, but does not provide a guaranteed remedy for one refused or ended response.
- One response ended or refused: Check whether you can continue using Claude and whether you received an account-restriction notice. The published appeal route is not a dedicated appeal for an individual response.
- Warning: Follow the warning route below rather than treating it as an account suspension.
- Personal account suspended or terminated: Use the account appeal form displayed after signing in with the affected account.
- Organization paused while your account is in good standing: Use the organization’s separate “Request a review” action.
Anthropic lists repeated Usage Policy violations, account creation from an unsupported location, and Terms of Service violations as possible reasons for a ban. These are general categories, not a determination of why any particular account was restricted. Anthropic’s safeguards and appeals guidance explains the available account-level routes.

- Go to claude.ai and sign in with the account that received the restriction notice.
- On the restricted-account screen, open the appeal form. The form requires you to be logged in as the affected user.
- Complete the information requested in the form and explain the situation clearly. Anthropic says its Safeguards team can investigate why an account was disabled.
Do not use an unrelated third-party form or assume that email is the required route for a ban appeal. Anthropic does not publish a guaranteed reinstatement outcome or a fixed response time; its guidance asks users to be patient.

Use the right route for a warning or organization hold
If you received a warning
For a warning you believe was mistaken, email usersafety@anthropic.com with details of the situation and your account information. For API customers, warnings are associated with ongoing thresholds across the API account, rather than only a single conversation.
If your organization is paused
If your personal account remains in good standing but an organization is restricted, choose “Request a review” for the affected organization on the restricted-account screen. This is separate from appealing a personal account suspension.

What if you cannot sign in or need your data?
Anthropic says banned Free, Pro, and Max users may still be able to log in to export data or delete their account. Export access can be limited depending on the Usage Policy violation.

If you cannot log in or reach the appeal form, Anthropic’s general support guidance directs users to open the Help Center messenger and select “I can’t login.” Support options vary by plan, and this general support route is not expressly identified as a substitute for a Safeguards appeal. What Anthropic’s published appeal figures do—and do not—show
Anthropic reported 11.4 million banned accounts, 398,000 appeals, and 42,000 appeal overturns for January–June 2026 in its Transparency Hub. These are aggregate totals. They do not establish an individual user’s likelihood of winning an appeal, and Anthropic does not provide a case-specific response deadline in the cited guidance.
Anthropic’s article “Our Approach to User Safety” states that its safety features “are not failsafe, and we may make mistakes through false positives or false negatives.” That acknowledgment does not guarantee reversal of a particular refusal, warning, or ban.
