Appeal through Blizzard’s authenticated Battle.net Account Restrictions and support-ticket workflow—not through the World of Warcraft forums or social media. Submit one clear, factual request that identifies the exact action, reconstructs your account’s gold-related activity, explains any indirect receipt of gold, and reports possible account compromise. Ask Blizzard to review whether the action was correctly associated with your account; do not demand a warning, a shorter penalty, or disclosure of internal evidence.
Use the correct appeal channel
A World of Warcraft suspension or closure is handled through Blizzard’s account-support system. The relevant public support topics are listed under Blizzard’s suspension guidance, including “Appealing a Silence, Suspension, or Ban” and “Appeal Suspension or Ban in World of Warcraft.” The World of Warcraft article was shown as updated two weeks before the research date of October 17, 2026, so use the current authenticated workflow rather than an old forum link or a third-party guide.

A Blizzard Support Forum Agent has stated that the forums are not the place to appeal an account action and that an appeal must be submitted by ticket. Forum replies can explain where to submit a request, but they do not replace the authenticated case review.

An appeal asks Blizzard to check whether the action was correctly applied to your account. It is not a negotiation for a preferred punishment. Blizzard’s public guidance describes appeals as appropriate when the company may have made a mistake, not as a way to request that a valid penalty be converted into a warning or shortened because it is inconvenient.

The result can be that the action is upheld or overturned. Blizzard does not promise reversal. Public guidance also does not promise that you will receive internal account logs, the identity of another player, the evidence used by enforcement systems, or a player-selected alternative penalty.
Keep those limits in mind when writing. A concise request for a log review gives support a concrete question to answer. Arguments about fairness, threats to quit, demands for the accuser’s identity, or requests for confidential enforcement details do not establish that the action was misattributed.
Prepare the facts before opening the ticket
Write a private timeline first. The ticket should be based on the account record, not on guesses made while trying to explain a surprising suspension. Collect the following details:

- The date the suspension or closure began.
- The stated expiration date, if the action is temporary.
- The affected Battle.net account or World of Warcraft license.
- Character names and realms involved.
- Dates and approximate amounts for relevant gold receipts, trades, mail, and Auction House activity.
- Any GDKP run, paid service, guild transfer, group transfer, or other player-to-player transaction connected with the flagged period.
- Ordinary gameplay income that could be confused with a transfer from another player.
- Dates when you noticed unfamiliar logins, transactions, characters, or other signs of account compromise.
- Password, authenticator, or other security changes you made after noticing a problem.
Approximate amounts are acceptable when the exact number is unavailable. Label them as approximate rather than inventing precision. Separate money earned through normal play from gold that arrived through a trade, in-game mail, group arrangement, guild transaction, Auction House sale, or service payment. That distinction makes the timeline easier to evaluate.
Build a chronological account Blizzard can check
Support needs a sequence of events rather than a general denial. A useful chronology answers who, what, when, where, and how much for each relevant event.

- Start with the action. Quote the offense label exactly as it appears, then state the suspension or closure date and expiration date.
- List normal activity first. Describe routine questing, professions, farming, dungeon play, or other ordinary income only when it helps distinguish that income from a separate transfer.
- List each external transfer. Record the character, realm, approximate amount, date, and mechanism: trade, mail, Auction House, guild bank, group distribution, GDKP payout, or paid service.
- Identify your relationship to the sender or group. State whether the person was a guildmate, party member, service provider, buyer, seller, or someone you did not know.
- Explain what you understood at the time. If you believed the transaction was a legitimate split, payment, refund, or reward, say so plainly. Do not claim certainty you cannot support.
- Add security events in date order. Put unfamiliar logins or transactions before or after the gold receipt as appropriate, and list the security steps taken.
Do not bury the relevant event in a long story about your entire playing history. Include enough context to identify the transaction and then ask Blizzard to compare your account’s logs with the action.
Explain indirect receipt of illicit gold directly
“I did not buy gold” is important, but it is not a complete explanation if gold reached your account through another player. Blizzard Support Forum guidance says a player may be actioned for receiving gold later identified as illicit even when the player says they did not knowingly purchase it. That means the appeal must address the source and route of the gold, not only whether you paid a seller yourself.
Gold from a guildmate or friend
State who sent it, how you knew that person, why the transfer occurred, and whether you had any reason at the time to suspect an illicit source. If it was a loan, reimbursement, guild expense, or shared-cost payment, describe the arrangement and the date.
Gold from a group, GDKP, or paid service
Name the character and realm, give the date and approximate amount, and describe your role. Explain whether you received a split, paid for a service, or performed a service. Do not label a transaction “legitimate” merely because it was organized by a group; describe the facts Blizzard can verify.
Gold through mail or the Auction House
Identify the character or listing when you can, the approximate date and amount, and whether the transaction looked like an ordinary sale, an unexpected payment, or something you did not recognize. If you accepted an unexpected transfer before understanding its source, say that rather than implying you had vetted the sender.

Gold you cannot explain
Say that you do not recognize the transfer and ask Blizzard to check the account logs. Do not fill a gap with a made-up buyer, screenshot, transaction ID, or story. A candid statement that a receipt is unexplained is more useful than a detailed but false explanation.
Report a possible account compromise
If someone else may have accessed the account, include that possibility in the same ticket. Give the date you noticed the problem, what looked unfamiliar, and the steps you took afterward. Useful details include:
- Unfamiliar login locations or times.
- Gold, mail, Auction House activity, or character actions you did not perform.
- The date you changed the password.
- The date you changed or enabled an authenticator, if applicable.
- Any other account-protection steps you completed.
Do not put your password, authenticator codes, payment-card details, or other secrets in the ticket. Blizzard says official Customer Support may contact players by email or in-game chat, and official emails come from noreply@blizzard.com. A Game Master will not ask for information that compromises the account. Treat a request for credentials or one-time codes as unsafe, even if the sender claims to be handling the appeal.
Submit one clear, case-specific ticket
Use the authenticated Account Restrictions page and follow the option for the World of Warcraft suspension or ban. The exact button wording can change, so choose the current option associated with the action shown on your account. Before sending, check that the ticket identifies the correct Battle.net account or WoW license.
- Copy the action details. Include the exact offense label, suspension or closure date, expiration date, and affected license.
- Paste your chronology. Keep events in date order and distinguish ordinary income from player-to-player transfers.
- Address indirect exposure. Explain any gold received from a guildmate, group, mail, trade, Auction House sale, GDKP activity, or paid service.
- Describe security concerns. Include suspected compromise and the password or authenticator changes you made, without including secrets.
- Ask for a review. Request review of the account logs and confirmation that the action was correctly associated with your account.
- Proofread once and submit. Remove speculation, insults, repeated paragraphs, and demands outside support’s scope.
After submission, do not create a series of tickets that repeat the same text while waiting. Blizzard’s Customer Support Interaction Policies warn that repeated appeals, copy-pasted submissions, gibberish, demands for out-of-scope resolutions, or attempts to defraud can lead to a formal warning, temporary suspension, or permanent account closure.

Use a factual request instead of a demand
These formulations keep the request focused:
- Useful: “Please review the account logs and confirm whether this action was correctly associated with my account.”
- Useful: “I did not knowingly purchase gold. On [date], approximately [amount] arrived by [method] from [character/realm], and I understood it to be [reason].”
- Useful: “I noticed unfamiliar activity on [date], changed my password and authenticator settings, and did not recognize the related transaction.”
- Avoid: “Remove the suspension immediately and give me a warning instead.”
- Avoid: “Tell me which player reported me and send me all internal evidence.”
- Avoid: “I will keep opening tickets until someone gives the answer I want.”
The purpose is not to sound apologetic or argumentative. It is to give support a verifiable account and a narrowly defined review request.
Copy-and-adapt appeal template
Use the following structure only after replacing every bracketed field with facts from your account. Delete any sentence that does not apply. Never invent screenshots, transaction IDs, dates, amounts, or explanations.
Subject: Request for review of WoW account action for suspected illicit gold
I am requesting a review of the suspension/closure on [date] for [exact offense label]. I did not knowingly purchase gold. The relevant activity on my account was [chronological description of trades, mail, Auction House sales, group or guild transfers, or paid services], involving [characters/realms] on [dates].
If any received gold was connected to an illicit source, I did not know that at the time. [Describe any possible account compromise and security steps taken.] Please review the account logs and confirm whether this action was correctly associated with my account. I understand and will follow the World of Warcraft rules.Keep the wording specific to your case. If you never received an unexplained transfer, remove that sentence. If you did not see signs of compromise, say so rather than adding a security theory that is not supported by your account history.

Blizzard may uphold the action or overturn it. A ticket does not guarantee restoration, and the public guidance does not promise a particular response time, access to internal logs, or disclosure of the evidence behind the action. A response may explain the outcome without providing every enforcement detail.
If the authenticated page says that no further appeals will be reviewed, follow that instruction. Do not switch to forum posts, social-media campaigns, or third-party “unban” services in an attempt to bypass the decision. Those channels do not become an appeal simply because they are public, and an outside service cannot provide an official account-action decision.

Watch for legitimate follow-up through the account-support system, official email, or in-game chat. Verify that an email comes from noreply@blizzard.com, and never disclose passwords, authenticator codes, or payment-card information to someone claiming to be a Game Master.
Common mistakes that weaken an appeal
Relying on a blanket denial
Saying only “I never bought gold” leaves unanswered whether another player’s illicit gold reached your account. Address every relevant receipt or explain which transfer you cannot identify.
Leaving out a transaction because it seems embarrassing
Omitting a GDKP payout, service payment, mail transfer, or Auction House event can make the timeline appear incomplete. Describe it neutrally and state what you believed it represented at the time.

Guessing at evidence
Do not manufacture transaction IDs, screenshots, sender names, or dates. If you lack a detail, mark the amount or date as approximate or say that you do not recognize the event.
Asking for a different punishment
An appeal is for correcting a potentially mistaken action, not for selecting a penalty. Request a review of the association between the account and the activity.
Opening multiple copy-pasted tickets
Repeated or deceptive submissions can create additional account consequences under Blizzard’s Customer Support Interaction Policies. Send one substantive appeal and follow the instructions on the authenticated page.
Sharing sensitive credentials
Support does not need your password, authenticator code, or full payment-card details to review a suspension. Including them creates a security risk and does not strengthen the case.
A practical decision checklist
- Channel: The appeal is being submitted through the authenticated Battle.net Account Restrictions/support-ticket workflow.
- Identification: The exact offense label, action date, expiration date, and affected license are present.
- Timeline: Relevant trades, mail, Auction House activity, GDKP or paid-service activity, characters, realms, dates, and approximate amounts are in chronological order.
- Indirect exposure: Every known source of received gold is explained, including transfers you did not knowingly purchase.
- Security: Possible compromise and the security changes you made are described without secrets.
- Request: The ticket asks for a review of the account logs and correct association, not a chosen penalty or confidential evidence.
- Conduct: The submission is singular, readable, honest, and free of threats, gibberish, copied repetitions, or fraud.
- Follow-up: You will honor a notice that no further appeals will be reviewed and will verify any official contact before sharing information.
The bottom line on suspected gold-buying suspensions
The strongest appeal is a single, evidence-based account of what happened. Use the Account Restrictions page, identify the exact action, give Blizzard a dated explanation of every relevant gold movement, address indirect receipt and possible compromise, and ask whether the action was correctly linked to your account. Blizzard can uphold or overturn the suspension, but no public guidance promises reversal or a player-selected penalty.
