Start with the exact model and its current guide: AR glasses do not share one universal button layout or menu. Adjust brightness and dimming first, then fit the glasses until the complete image is in view, and only afterward change screen position, size, color temperature, or text options. The examples below show documented procedures for XREAL One Series, VITURE models, and RayNeo Air 3S; use them only when they match your glasses.
Why AR-glasses settings differ
Display-style AR glasses combine optical hardware, temple buttons, firmware menus, and interchangeable fit parts. A control that changes brightness on one generation may change volume on another, and some models have optical adjustment hardware that others do not. Treat the model name and generation as part of every instruction. Before changing a setting, confirm the label on the glasses, the companion device or app, and the guide written for that model.
There is no single brightness level, tint, or screen position that is ideal for every room. A bright office, a dim bedroom, and an outdoor setting place different demands on the display. Make small changes while wearing the glasses in the place where you will use them, and stop when the image is comfortable and fully visible. Product guidance about brightness or color is not a medical assessment and cannot correct an eyesight condition.

Prepare before changing anything
- Identify the exact glasses. Note the product family, generation, and any suffix such as Pro, One, Luma, or Air 3S. Keep the model-specific manual open; button sequences are not interchangeable.
- Set up the viewing environment. Use the glasses in the lighting where the problem occurs. Reflections and room lighting can make a display appear too dim or too bright.
- Clean and seat the glasses. Clean the display-facing lenses with the care method specified by the manufacturer, open the temples fully, and place the nose pads evenly before judging clarity.
- Change one variable at a time. Adjust brightness, then fit, then position or color. This makes it clear which change solved the problem.
- Check the host device only after the glasses. A phone, computer, or game console may have its own brightness controls, but those do not replace the glasses’ optical and on-device settings.
How to adjust brightness and dimming
XREAL One Series
XREAL’s Quick Guide says to press either the plus or minus button to open the Quick Panel. Press X to move among Brightness, Volume, and Electrochromic Dimming. Select the brightness or dimming item, then use the available adjustment buttons to make a small change and check the image again. Brightness controls the display output; electrochromic dimming changes the lens tint, so they can produce different results in the same room.

XREAL also advises reducing brightness in its Follow and Anchor modes when motion blur or trailing is noticeable. That is the manufacturer’s product guidance, not a guaranteed fix. If lowering brightness helps only slightly, continue with the fit and position checks below rather than assuming the display hardware is defective.
VITURE Pro and One Series
VITURE’s Pro & One Series guide says the long adjustment button changes brightness or volume by default. Because the same control can serve both functions, watch the on-screen response after pressing it and use the model’s guide if the button changes the wrong setting. Make gradual adjustments instead of holding the control for a long, uncontrolled change.
RayNeo Air 3S
RayNeo’s Air 3S support instructions place brightness-adjustment buttons on the right temple. Use those buttons while the glasses are on your face so you can judge the result in the actual viewing position. The location is specific to the Air 3S instructions and should not be assumed for other RayNeo generations or other brands.

Choosing a comfortable level
In a low-light environment, XREAL recommends reducing brightness and choosing a warmer color temperature. Apply that advice as a starting point, then make small changes for your room and content. A setting that works for a dark movie may be unsuitable for a bright spreadsheet, so reassess after switching tasks. Do not increase brightness simply to compensate for an image that is physically misaligned; first correct the fit.
Fit the glasses so the entire image is visible
Brightness cannot repair an image that is clipped, shifted, or blurred because the glasses are sitting at the wrong angle. Put the glasses on normally, keep your head in a neutral position, and check all four edges of the virtual screen. If an edge disappears when you move slightly, the frame or nose support may need adjustment.
Use the fit parts supplied for your model
VITURE’s Pro & One Series guidance describes trying its different nose-pad options and adjusting the stems of size 3 if none of the supplied pads fits. The objective is to see the full display, not merely to make the frame feel tight. Change one nose-pad option at a time, reseat the glasses, and check the complete image after each change.

- YOUR PRIVATE 147” BIG SCREEN, ANYWHERE — Plug the a01+ into your phone, tablet, handheld, or laptop and a giant 147” screen appears in front of you—for movies, gaming, or getting work done on the couch, on a flight, or in bed. A true portable display you wear, in a soda-can-sized 210g case that drops in your pocket.
- ALWAYS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU — The screen follows your view with smooth, stabilized tracking and stays centered as you look around—nothing to anchor or set up, and no drift to reset. Press play and your big screen is simply there.
- 62G — LIGHT ENOUGH TO FORGET — At just 62g, with three nose-pad sizes and flexible temples, the a01+ stays comfortable through a long movie or flight, even lying down.
- LOOKS LIKE SUNGLASSES, NOT A GADGET — A slim, sunglasses-style frame with a signature semi-transparent chassis and neon logo—light and low-profile enough to actually wear out.
- WORKS WITH YOUR USB-C GEAR — No Battery to Charge — Connects and powers over a single USB-C DisplayPort cable: iPhone 15/16/17, iPad, DP-capable Android phones, Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Mac and PC. Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 and older (Lightning) iPhones need an adapter. For long phone sessions, add the XREAL Hub to charge and watch at once.
Do not assume that another brand’s nose pads, replacement stems, or prescription accessories will fit. The documentation supplied with your exact glasses determines compatibility. A fit adjustment can change the viewing angle, but it does not correct eyesight or guarantee that every viewer will eliminate edge blur.

VITURE’s Luma Series instructions describe top rotary knobs that adjust the image until it is sharp and clear. Turn the knobs in small increments while looking at fine text, then check a larger image to make sure the adjustment did not shift the frame out of view. These rotary controls are a Luma-specific feature in the cited instructions; do not search for them on a model that does not document them.
Distinguish fit problems from source problems
- Both eyes see the same blur or clipping: reseat the frame and verify the nose-pad or optical-adjustment procedure for the model.
- Only one side is affected: check whether the frame is tilted and whether the model provides independent adjustment. Do not change host-device resolution first.
- The image is sharp in the center but an edge is consistently soft: consult the glasses’ fit and optical documentation. A fit change may help, but it is not a promise that all edge blur can be removed.
- The whole image looks dim but remains sharp: use the glasses’ brightness or dimming control before changing fit.
Set screen position, size, and viewing behavior
XREAL One Series Follow and Anchor modes
XREAL’s One Series documentation describes two display behaviors. Follow moves the screen with head movement, while Anchor keeps the screen fixed in space. Choose the behavior that matches the task: a screen that follows can remain in front of you as you turn, while an anchored screen can stay at a fixed location in the surrounding view.

In Follow mode, a long press of X recenters the screen in front of your eyes. Recenter only after putting the glasses on in the position you intend to use; otherwise the system will preserve an offset that feels wrong. If the display appears to drift or sit too far to one side, recenter before changing brightness or color.
Screen size and display-menu options
The XREAL One Series OSD overview says screen size can be adjusted. The Display menu also offers Color Temperature, Text Optimization, and an Increase Brightness feature. These options address different needs:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Screen size: change how large the virtual image appears in your field of view.
- Color Temperature: shift the image cooler or warmer; XREAL recommends a warmer choice in low light.
- Text Optimization: use when small characters need a display-specific readability adjustment.
- Increase Brightness: use the documented menu feature when the normal brightness range is not enough for the current environment, then reassess comfort.
Menu names and button behavior described here belong to the One Series documentation. Do not apply the sequence to a different XREAL generation without checking its guide.

Control tint and perform optional color calibration
Electrochromic dimming versus color temperature
Electrochromic dimming changes the lens’s light transmission, while color temperature changes the apparent warmth of the displayed image. On a supported XREAL One Series setup, both are available through separate controls. If the image is too intense in a dark room, try lower brightness or dimming first; if whites feel harsh or cool, try the warmer color-temperature setting. Keep a note of the previous setting so you can return to it when the lighting changes.
VITURE color-tuning tool
VITURE provides a color-tuning and calibration tool for supported models. The tool previews changes through the glasses, allowing you to judge the effect while wearing them. Support is model-dependent, so verify that your glasses are listed before treating the tool as an available control. Calibration is optional; it is not a prerequisite for using the brightness, fit, or positioning controls.
Practical adjustment routines for common situations
The display is uncomfortable in a dark room
- Keep the frame in its normal viewing position and lower brightness using the control documented for your model.
- If the glasses provide electrochromic dimming, try a small dimming change separately from brightness.
- On a supported XREAL One Series setup, choose a warmer color temperature as XREAL recommends for low light.
- Read both dark and light content. If text remains difficult, use the model’s documented text or display options rather than continuing to lower brightness indefinitely.
Motion blur or trailing appears while the screen moves
- Confirm whether you are using a moving display mode such as XREAL One Series Follow.
- Reduce brightness as XREAL recommends for Follow and Anchor modes, then test the same movement again.
- Check that the glasses are seated evenly and that the screen is centered. A tilted frame can make motion appear worse.
- If the symptom persists, compare Follow and Anchor behavior on the XREAL One Series. Do not assume another model has equivalent modes.
Part of the screen is outside your view
- Stop changing brightness and reseat the glasses on your nose.
- Try the fit options documented for the model, such as VITURE nose pads or, on Luma Series glasses, the top rotary knobs.
- For XREAL One Series Follow mode, long-press X to recenter.
- Adjust screen size only after the physical fit and center position are correct.
The image is clear but the color feels wrong
- Check whether the issue is a dark-room preference, which may respond to a warmer color temperature, or an actual tint problem.
- Use the glasses’ color-temperature control if the model documents one.
- On a supported VITURE model, use the color-tuning tool and preview the result through the glasses.
- Return to the previous setting if the adjustment improves one type of content but makes another harder to read.

A repeatable order that prevents wasted adjustments
- Identify the model and guide. Confirm that the instructions match the glasses generation.
- Correct physical seating. Adjust nose pads, stems, or documented optical knobs until the display is fully visible and as sharp as the hardware allows.
- Center the virtual screen. Use the model’s recenter command or position control; on XREAL One Series Follow, long-press X.
- Set brightness and dimming. Make a small change, check both bright and dark content, and keep the setting that suits the current room.
- Choose display behavior. On XREAL One Series, decide between Follow and Anchor and adjust screen size if needed.
- Refine color and text. Use color temperature, text optimization, Increase Brightness, or a supported calibration tool only when the preceding steps are correct.
- Recheck after changing environments. A setting made in a dark room may need a different brightness or tint in daylight; that is normal and does not mean the glasses have lost calibration.
When to consult the manual or support page
Use the manufacturer’s documentation when a button performs a different function than described, a menu item is missing, or a fit part does not match the illustration. Those differences can indicate another generation, a regional version, or firmware-dependent behavior. Do not force a stem, nose pad, rotary knob, or temple button. If the image remains clipped or blurred after the documented fit procedure, record the model, the setting changes, and whether the problem affects one or both eyes before contacting support.
