To increase bass on the Bose Soundbar 500, open the Bose app, select the soundbar, and adjust the bass under Settings. If you want more low-frequency output than the setting provides, Bose lists the Bass Module 500 as a compatible add-on.
Adjust the Soundbar 500’s bass in the Bose app
-
Open the Bose app and select your Soundbar 500.
-
Open Settings.
-
Adjust the bass setting upward, then play audio and fine-tune it to your preference.
This is the first step to try and does not require extra hardware. The app’s screens can change, so labels or menu placement may vary. See Bose’s Soundbar 500 owner’s guide.

Place the module to shape its bass in the room
Bose recommends placing the module on the floor, along the same wall as the television and soundbar, with an electrical outlet nearby. Its placement guidance says that moving it closer to walls and corners produces more bass, while moving it farther away produces less. This is manufacturer advice, not a measured guarantee for every room. See the Bass Module 500 product information.
