To add AI traffic to Shutoko Revival Project (SRP), use the current SRP stable track, AssettoServer, full Content Manager, and an SRP-specific fast_lane.ai or fast_lane.aip spline. In Content Manager, select Shutoko Revival Project – Main Layout, add traffic cars to the entry list, set Capacity high enough for every entry, save the preset, and run it through Content Manager or AssettoServer. If a freeroam server hangs at “Initialising AI spline,” rename the local layout’s ai folder to ai_off.
What you need before adding traffic
The documented SRP traffic setup is a server-based workflow rather than a simple drag-and-drop car mod. Prepare all of these components first:
- Assetto Corsa on Windows, with its installation folder accessible for track files.
- Full Content Manager, because the server preset and entry-list controls used by the guide are in the full version.
- AssettoServer. Its documentation was version 0.0.54 when checked in 2026.
- A compatible SRP track release. The official SRP site currently labels version 0.9.3 as the stable release. Support for 0.9.1 has ended.
- An SRP-made AI spline. Obtain the matching
fast_lane.aiorfast_lane.aipfrom the pinned#ai-spline-releasesmaterial in the AssettoServer Discord. The attachment name can change, so use the pinned release associated with your track build rather than an old filename copied from a forum post.
SRP also lists a 0.9.4 public test build (PTB). It has a different track folder and requires Custom Shaders Patch (CSP) 0.2.11 or newer. Do not combine a PTB spline or folder with the 0.9.3 stable installation unless the current SRP release notes explicitly say they are compatible.
Stable SRP or 0.9.4 PTB?
| Choice | What the current documentation says | Use it when | Compatibility caution |
|---|---|---|---|
| SRP 0.9.3 stable | The official site labels it stable and says the stable release is required for most servers. | You want the broadly supported, least experimental server setup. | Use the stable track folder and the spline released for that stable layout. |
| SRP 0.9.4 PTB | The project lists it separately as a public test build. | You intentionally want the PTB and can follow its version-specific instructions. | CSP 0.2.11 or newer is required. Its folder is unique, and its AI splines are published through the AssettoServer Discord. PTB instructions may change. |
| SRP 0.9.1 | Support has ended. | Only when maintaining an old, isolated installation that cannot be upgraded. | Do not expect current server instructions or spline releases to support it. |
For a new installation, start with 0.9.3 stable unless you specifically need the 0.9.4 PTB. Keep the release number, track folder, CSP requirement, and AI spline as one matched set.

Install the SRP track
- Download the current stable SRP release from the project’s official site. At the time of this guide, that is version 0.9.3.
- Extract the archive into the Assetto Corsa installation so the supplied track content lands in the game’s
content/trackshierarchy. Do not nest the extracted folder inside an extra folder created by your archive program. - Open Content Manager and verify that the SRP layout appears in the track list. The server setup uses the layout named Shutoko Revival Project – Main Layout.
- If you are installing the 0.9.4 PTB instead, follow that build’s folder instructions exactly. The PTB folder is deliberately different from the stable folder; mixing them can make the game load the wrong files.
A track appearing in Content Manager confirms that the folder is visible, but it does not prove that the server spline matches the installed release. Always match the spline release to the track build.
Get the correct AI spline
Traffic follows an AI spline, commonly supplied as fast_lane.ai or fast_lane.aip. For SRP traffic, use an SRP-made spline from the pinned #ai-spline-releases material in the AssettoServer Discord. The documented workflow points to those pinned releases rather than to one permanent public filename.

- Check the release note or pinned message for the exact SRP layout and version.
- Download the spline package without renaming files unless its instructions require it.
- Do not substitute a spline made for another track, layout, or SRP build. A visually similar filename is not evidence of compatibility.
- If you are following a 0.9.4 PTB setup, use the PTB spline announced for that build. PTB attachments and instructions can change.
The spline is not a traffic car pack. You still need car entries in the server preset; the spline supplies the route that the traffic AI uses.
Create the traffic preset in Content Manager
Content Manager is the simplest way to assemble and test the entry list before moving it to a dedicated AssettoServer folder.

- Open Content Manager and go to the Server tab.
- Create a server preset and set the track to Shutoko Revival Project – Main Layout. Select the layout, not a similarly named local or legacy variant.
- Add the traffic cars to the entry list. The guide’s example contains one RUF CTR Yellowbird, five Audi S1 cars, and five Toyota GT-86 cars, for 11 total entries.
- Set Capacity to cover the entire entry list. If you add 11 cars, capacity must be at least 11; increase it when you add more entries.
- Save the preset. Keep a note of which SRP release and spline you used so a later update does not silently mix versions.
Capacity is constrained by the layout’s pit limit. Setting capacity above the number of available pit slots can crash clients, so do not treat a larger number as a harmless way to “allow more traffic.” Add only as many entries as the layout can support.
Choosing traffic cars
The example fleet is useful for validating the setup because it contains multiple entries and several car models, but it is not a mandatory roster. The important checks are that every car is installed on the server and on connecting clients, each entry has a valid car identifier, and the total entry count does not exceed the layout’s pit limit. If a client disconnects while joining, first reduce the entry list to a known-good set and confirm the capacity before adding more cars.
Pack and launch the server
You can run the saved preset directly in Content Manager or turn it into a Windows server package for AssettoServer.
- In Content Manager, save the completed preset and use its Windows packing option when you are preparing a dedicated server folder.
- Extract the AssettoServer release into the destination server directory.
- Extract the packed preset into that same directory, preserving the folder structure created by Content Manager.
- For a direct test, launch
AssettoServer.exe. Alternatively, run the preset from Content Manager. - Join with a client installation that has the same SRP track release, required cars, and compatible CSP configuration.
Start with a small entry list while validating the route. Once the server loads and a client can join, add the remaining cars in batches. This makes it easier to distinguish a bad car entry from a track, spline, or capacity problem.

Enforce a minimum CSP version on a hosted server
Server owners who need a specific CSP baseline can use AssettoServer’s CSP track-path method. This is separate from choosing the SRP release: the path tells the server which CSP-specific track copy to use, while the client still needs a compatible CSP installation.
- Place the track under
content/tracks/cspin the server’s content tree. - Set the track entry in the server configuration to the pattern
TRACK=csp/<CSPversionID>/../<trackname>, replacing the angle-bracket values with the required CSP version identifier and track name. - Open the track’s
surfaces.ini. - Change only the first surface section name from
SURFACE_0toCSPFACE_0. - Leave every other surface section unchanged.
- Restart the server and test with a client running the required CSP version.
Changing additional surface sections causes client checksum errors. The “change only the first section” rule is therefore operational, not cosmetic: edit one section and leave the rest exactly as supplied.

On a freeroam server, this message usually means Assetto Corsa is loading the local single-player AI spline from the client’s game files. That spline is not needed for the freeroam server and can prevent the intended traffic setup from completing.
- Close Assetto Corsa and Content Manager.
- Open the local SRP layout folder in the Assetto Corsa installation.
- Find the layout’s directory named
ai. - Rename that directory to
ai_off. Renaming is safer than deleting it because you can restore the original folder later. - Start the regular SRP layout again and reconnect to the freeroam server.
Renaming the folder disables the local single-player AI spline. It also disables some track-cut penalties that depend on that local AI data. When you want single-player AI or those penalties again, close the game and rename ai_off back to ai.

Stable server, freeroam server, or single-player traffic?
| Setup | Where traffic logic comes from | Main configuration | Typical issue |
|---|---|---|---|
| Content Manager in-app hosting | Saved Content Manager preset plus the SRP spline and installed cars. | Server tab, Main Layout, entry list, Capacity. | Capacity or car entries do not match the available pit limit. |
| Dedicated AssettoServer folder | Packed preset, AssettoServer executable, matching track and spline files. | Extract the release and packed preset, then launch AssettoServer.exe. |
Server files are mixed between stable and PTB releases. |
| Freeroam server client | Server-provided traffic route, not the client’s local single-player spline. | Use the regular layout; rename local ai to ai_off if initialization hangs. |

Common installation mistakes and targeted fixes
The wrong track folder is selected
Stable and PTB builds use different folders. If Content Manager shows more than one similarly named SRP layout, compare the folder associated with the server preset to the release you installed. Remove stale presets from your test workflow and select the layout that belongs to the intended build.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The spline file came from the wrong release
A spline published for a different SRP version can leave traffic unusable even when the track loads normally. Recheck the pinned #ai-spline-releases announcement and select the attachment identified for your layout. This is especially important for the 0.9.4 PTB, whose spline distribution is version-specific.
The server loads but clients crash during entry
First compare Capacity with the number of entries. Then check whether the entry count exceeds the layout’s pit limit. The documented warning is that exceeding the pit limit can crash clients, so reduce the list before changing unrelated graphics or network settings.
Clients report a checksum error after a CSP change
Inspect surfaces.ini. The CSP method requires changing only the first SURFACE_0 heading to CSPFACE_0. Revert any additional renamed surface sections, because changing them produces checksum mismatches.

Players have different CSP versions
Use the server’s CSP path and minimum-version method when you need everyone on a known baseline. For SRP 0.9.4 PTB, the minimum is CSP 0.2.11. A client below the required version must update CSP before joining; changing the server track folder cannot make an older client compatible.

Do not assume the filename is permanent. The documented workflow points to pinned Discord releases, where attachments may be replaced or renamed. Check the latest SRP and AssettoServer announcements for the spline matching your track build instead of searching for an exact historical filename.
A repeatable validation checklist
- Track release is identified as SRP 0.9.3 stable or the intentionally selected 0.9.4 PTB.
- 0.9.1 is not being used for a new supported setup.
- The selected Content Manager layout is Shutoko Revival Project – Main Layout.
- The AI spline is SRP-made and matches the installed layout and release.
- Every traffic car in the entry list is installed on the server and clients.
- Capacity is at least the entry count but does not exceed the layout’s pit limit.
- The packed preset and AssettoServer executable are in the intended dedicated folder.
- If CSP enforcement is enabled, the track is under
content/tracks/csp, theTRACK=path uses the required pattern, and only the first surface heading was changed. - If freeroam hangs at “Initialising AI spline,” the local
aifolder has been renamed toai_off. - For single-player AI testing, the folder has been restored to
aiafterward.
Recommended setup path
For most new servers, install SRP 0.9.3 stable, use the matching pinned spline, build the preset in full Content Manager, and validate with a small entry list before packing it for AssettoServer. Add CSP path enforcement only when you need to control the minimum client version. Treat the 0.9.4 PTB as a separate, version-specific installation that requires CSP 0.2.11 or newer and its own spline instructions.
