Godlike.Host offers hosted Arma Reforger servers with its own game panel, SFTP access and free DDoS protection, if you would rather not host it yourself.
Set the server’s scenarioId inside the game object of its JSON configuration. The value must be the scenario’s .conf path preceded by its GUID in braces, for example {ECC61978EDCC2B5A}Missions/23_Campaign.conf. A Workshop scenario also requires its mod in the game.mods array. Start the server with -config so that this file is actually loaded.
What scenarioId does
Arma Reforger reads scenarioId to decide which mission scenario the dedicated server loads. It belongs directly inside the game block of the JSON configuration. The setting is not a display name: it is an asset path made from two parts.

- The scenario’s GUID enclosed in braces, such as
{ECC61978EDCC2B5A}. - The relative path to the scenario configuration file, including the
.confextension, such asMissions/23_Campaign.conf.
Combined, a built-in scenario looks like this:

What you need before editing the server
- Access to the JSON file that your dedicated server launch command or hosting panel uses.
- The normal server executable or startup entry, so you can append
-listScenariosand later launch with-config. - The exact scenario path for the game version installed on the server.
- For a Workshop scenario, the scenario’s mod identifier and the mod downloaded or made available to the server.
- A way to join the server after startup, preferably with an administrator account, to confirm the mission that actually loaded.
Guides and hosting panels use different names for the JSON file, including config.json and serverconfig.json. Panels may rename it again. The filename is less important than passing that file explicitly with -config; edit the file that your own startup entry references.

Find the exact scenario path with -listScenarios
The safest way to discover a valid value is to start the server with the -listScenarios startup parameter. The server writes the scenarios it can see, together with their paths, to its logs. Copy the complete path from that output, including the GUID, braces and .conf filename.
- Stop the server if it is running.
- Temporarily remove
scenarioIdfrom the active JSON configuration, or use a startup arrangement that does not load a scenario configuration. - Add
-listScenariosto the same server launch command you normally use. - Start the server and open its log output.
- Locate the scenario listing and copy the entry you want exactly as printed.
- Stop the listing run before making the permanent configuration change.
Workshop scenarios have a special discovery detail: they appear in the list when no scenario is being loaded through a configuration. If an existing scenarioId is still active, the list may not show Workshop scenarios you are trying to discover. Clear that setting first, then run the listing command again.

One published revision lists 31 entries while another lists nine. Treat those pages as orientation only and verify the result on the server installation with -listScenarios.
Configure a built-in scenario
Once you have the path, put it in the game object. Do not place scenarioId at the JSON root or inside mods. A minimal configuration fragment is:

}The example uses the documented Conflict on Everon path. Replace it with the exact entry for the scenario you selected. Preserve every other setting already required by your server; adding a scenario should not require deleting unrelated configuration keys.
Check the JSON before starting
- Use double quotation marks around property names and string values.
- Keep a comma between sibling properties, but not after the final property in an object.
- Make sure the braces around the GUID are literal characters in the string.
- Keep the
.confsuffix and the path exactly as listed. - Save the file in the location passed to the server through
-config.
Add a Workshop scenario
A Workshop scenario is supplied by a mod, so selecting its path alone is not enough. First register the scenario’s mod in game.mods; then set scenarioId to the scenario path exposed by that mod.

}The values in this example are structural examples, not a real Workshop selection. Use the actual 16-character hexadecimal modId and the exact scenario path from your server’s listing. The GUID in scenarioId and the mod’s identifier are related to the supplied content, but they are not interchangeable unless the listing and the mod metadata show that they are the same.
What can be in a mod entry

You can obtain the identifier from the mod’s Reforger Workshop page, from Workbench, or from the mod’s .gproj file. Copy the identifier without adding spaces, hyphens or a Workshop URL around it.

Choose the required value carefully
If required is false and the server cannot download the mod from the Workshop, the addon is removed from the list and a warning is written to the log. That behavior can let a server start without optional content, but it can also leave the selected scenario unavailable. For a scenario that the server must run, mark the mod as required or monitor the log and correct the download problem before accepting players.
Start the server with the configuration
Use the -config startup parameter followed by the JSON file that contains your game block. For example, the relevant part of a launch command conceptually looks like this:
-config path/to/your-server-config.jsonUse the path syntax appropriate to your operating system and hosting panel. The important distinction is the parameter: -server by itself ignores the JSON configuration file. If the process is started with -server instead of -config, changing scenarioId will appear to have no effect.
- Save the edited JSON file.
- Stop any existing server process.
- Start the process with
-configpointing to that saved file. - Read the startup log for the selected scenario and any mod-download messages.
- Join the server and confirm that the expected scenario, not merely the expected server name, is active.
If you use a control panel, enter the same scenario and mod values in the panel’s configuration editor or make sure the panel does not overwrite your file at restart. A panel’s filename or interface labels may differ from the command-line examples.

Verify the result in game and in the logs
A successful startup should identify the selected content in the server log. For a Workshop scenario, look for both the mod being resolved and the scenario being loaded. Joining the server is the final check because a server can start while silently dropping a non-required mod.
- The server reaches its listening state without a configuration error.
- The log does not report that the Workshop addon was removed.
- Your client is prompted to obtain any required content, if applicable.
- The mission or scenario shown after joining matches the
scenarioIdentry.
If the server is visible but loads another mission, compare the running process’s -config argument with the file you edited. Multiple JSON files are a common source of confusion when a panel keeps a generated copy alongside a manually edited file.

As of the documented version 0.9.8 behavior, a server supports only one scenario definition at a time. Mission rotation was not supported. To change missions, stop the server, replace the single scenarioId value with another valid path, adjust game.mods if the new scenario needs different content, and restart with -config.
- Record the current configuration so you can restore it.
- Stop the server cleanly.
- Run
-listScenariosif you need to confirm the replacement path for the installed version. - Change only the relevant
scenarioIdand mod entries. - Start with the same
-configfile and test a client connection.
Do not add several scenarioId properties and expect the server to rotate between them. JSON objects cannot provide a supported mission queue this way, and duplicate property names make the effective value ambiguous.

Troubleshoot the most common failures

For a Workshop scenario, replace every example value with the values reported by your installation and the mod metadata. Do not copy the example identifier or version into a live server.

Version and documentation cautions
Scenario names, available entries and Workshop content can change as the game is updated. The official documentation has appeared in more than one revision with different scenario counts, and no single static page should override the list produced by the server binary you are running. Check the game version on the server, run -listScenarios after updates, and keep a backup of a known-good JSON file before changing missions.
Likewise, the configuration filename is not universal. Some instructions call it config.json, others call it serverconfig.json, and hosting services may expose a custom name. Follow the file path in the active startup command rather than renaming files solely to match an example.
