Microsoft Edge on Android calls bookmarks Favorites. You can save the page currently open, organize saved pages into folders, rename or move entries, and remove them from the Favorites screen. The exact position of a button can vary slightly between Edge versions, but the main route is the three-dot menu at the bottom or top of the browser.
Save the page you are viewing as a Favorite
- Open the webpage in Microsoft Edge on your Android phone or tablet.
- Tap the three-dot menu.
- Tap Add to favorites. In some versions, the option is shown with a star icon.
- Check the name and folder shown in the save dialog. Edit the name if necessary, then select Save or Done.
Edge normally saves a new Favorite in the default Favorites location. If the save dialog offers a folder selector, choose an existing folder before confirming.
Save a Favorite from the address bar
Depending on the Edge Android build and screen size, a star may appear in or near the address bar while a page is open. Tap that star to save the page, then confirm its name and folder. If no star is visible, use three-dot menu > Add to favorites; that route is more consistent across Android layouts.

- Tap the three-dot menu in Edge.
- Tap Favorites.
- Tap a folder to browse its saved pages, or tap a Favorite to open it.
If Edge opens a different browser panel first, look for the star or Favorites tab in that panel. On a phone, Favorites may be displayed as a list; on a tablet, they may appear in a wider side or full-screen pane.

Edit, rename, move, or delete a Favorite
Open the Favorites list first. The editing controls are usually available from the item’s three-dot button or by pressing and holding the item.
- Tap three dots > Favorites.
- Find the saved page or folder you want to change.
- Tap the item’s three-dot menu. If there is no separate button, press and hold the item.
- Choose the available action, such as Edit, Rename, Move, or Delete.
- Confirm the change when Edge asks.
Rename a saved page
Choose Edit or Rename, replace the existing title, and save it. Renaming changes the label shown in Edge; it does not change the webpage’s address.
Change a Favorite’s folder
Choose Move or edit the item’s folder field, select the destination folder, and confirm. If your version does not show a Move command, open the Favorite’s edit screen and use its folder selector instead.
Delete a Favorite
Use the item’s menu or long-press menu and choose Delete. A deleted Favorite may disappear immediately. If Favorites sync is enabled, the deletion can also be applied to Edge on your other signed-in devices.
Create folders for better organization
Folders are useful when the Favorites list contains more than a handful of links—for example, Work, Shopping, Travel, or Read later.

- Open three-dot menu > Favorites.
- Open the Favorites menu, usually through the three-dot button in the Favorites screen.
- Choose New folder or the folder-plus option.
- Enter a name and save the folder.
- Move existing Favorites into it using the item’s edit or move command.
Some Android releases place the new-folder command at the top of the Favorites screen; others show it in an overflow menu. If you cannot see it, open a folder’s menu rather than an individual Favorite’s menu.
Turn on Favorites sync
Sync lets Edge make the same Favorites available on Android, Windows, macOS, and other devices signed in to the same Microsoft account.
- Open Edge and tap the three-dot menu.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap your account or profile at the top of Settings. If you are not signed in, choose the sign-in option and complete the Microsoft account login.
- Tap Sync.
- Turn on the Favorites switch. If Edge offers a general sync switch, enable it first.
After enabling sync, allow a little time for a large Favorites collection to appear. You can check the same Sync screen if Favorites are not being transferred.
What to check when Favorites are missing
Verify the Microsoft account
Sync works by account and profile. If Android Edge is signed in with a different Microsoft account from Edge on your computer, the two browsers will have separate Favorites.
Check the profile
Favorites saved under one Edge profile do not automatically appear in another profile. Open the profile control in Edge, switch to the expected account or profile, and then check Favorites again.

Look inside folders
Imported or synchronized Favorites may be placed inside a folder rather than at the top level. Expand folders such as an imported browser folder, then search through their contents.
Check sync status
Return to Settings > your profile > Sync and make sure Favorites is enabled. If it is already enabled, turn airplane mode off, connect to a reliable network, and reopen Edge. Avoid repeatedly deleting and re-adding entries while sync is catching up.
Remember that sync also synchronizes deletions
If a Favorite was deleted on another device, that deletion can propagate to Android. Restore it by visiting the page and saving it again, provided you still know its address.
Import Favorites to Android Edge
Android Edge is generally not the best place to import a desktop HTML bookmarks file. The practical approach is to import the file into Edge on a Windows or Mac computer, sign in to the same Microsoft account, enable Favorites sync, and then open Edge on Android with that account.
- Import the bookmarks into desktop Edge using its browser-data import settings.
- Sign in to the same Edge profile on the computer and enable Favorites sync.
- On Android, sign in to that same profile.
- Open Settings > your profile > Sync and enable Favorites.
- Open three-dot menu > Favorites and check the imported folders.
Do not assume imported links will be placed directly in your existing folders. Browsers commonly put imported bookmarks into a separate folder, which you can reorganize after they arrive.

Use Favorites without clutter
- Shorten long titles: Rename saved pages to a few identifying words, such as “Tax forms 2025” instead of the full page title.
- Separate temporary links: Keep short-lived research in a “Read later” folder so permanent references remain easy to find.
- Remove duplicates: If the same URL appears in several folders, keep the copy in the folder where you are most likely to look for it.
- Use sync deliberately: A deletion or move made on one synchronized device may affect the other devices using that profile.
- Keep the default location tidy: Save frequently used pages at the top level and put occasional links into named folders.
Android Edge limitations to know
Desktop instructions do not always apply to the Android app. Android Edge does not use the same Favorites bar as the Windows desktop version, and keyboard shortcuts such as Ctrl+D are not relevant unless you are using a physical keyboard with a compatible Android setup. Menu names and the location of the star can also change after an app update.
When a documented label is not visible, use the equivalent route: open the page, open the three-dot menu, choose Add to favorites, or open Favorites to manage an existing entry.

Why are my Edge Favorites not showing on Android?
Check that Android Edge is signed in to the same Microsoft account and profile as your other device. Then open Settings, select your profile, choose Sync, and make sure Favorites is enabled. Also check imported and nested folders.
Can I sync Edge Favorites between Android and Windows?
