To get Super Troops in Clash of Clans, reach Town Hall 11 in the Home Village, open the barrel-shaped Super Troop building beside the Trader, and activate an eligible troop with Dark Elixir or a Super Potion. Each activation lasts three days, during which you can train the troop in your Army Camps.
What you need before activating a Super Troop
- Town Hall 11 in the Home Village: Supercell says the barrel-shaped Super Troop building appears at this level.
- An eligible regular troop: Each Super Troop has a required level for its regular counterpart. The current Supercell Support page does not list every troop’s requirement. If its icon is grey and has no timer, tap it in the building to see the troop’s details.
- Dark Elixir or a Super Potion: You need one of these to activate the troop.
How to activate and train one
- In the Home Village, open the barrel-shaped Super Troop building beside the Trader.
- Select a troop that meets its level requirement. If the troop is unavailable, check its detail screen for the level needed.
- Choose the Dark Elixir activation option or use a Super Potion. Supercell does not publish a fixed Dark Elixir cost in its current guidance, so check the in-game activation screen for the price shown to you.
- Train the activated troop in your Army Camps and use it within its three-day activation window. Its icon displays a timer. You can still train the regular version of that troop while the Super Troop is active.

How many Super Troops can be active?
You can normally have two Super Troops active at once. During a Super Troop Event, an event troop can be active in addition to those two, allowing a total of three.

Getting a Super Troop from an event
During a Super Troop Event, attack enemy bases to earn Super Medals for the event reward track. The track may unlock an event Super Troop even if you have not reached Town Hall 11 or unlocked the normal Super Troop feature. Event troops are available during the event, and a trained event troop stays in your Army Camp until deployed.

What happens when an activation ends or is canceled?
When the three-day activation expires, you must activate that troop again before training it as a Super Troop. You can also cancel an active boost from the active Super Troops view. Cancellation does not refund the Dark Elixir or Super Potion used, and it removes all troops of that Super Troop type from your army.

Donating Super Troops
You can donate only Super Troops you activated yourself. Supercell also says Quick Donation can donate any Super Troop unlocked with Gems. Players at Town Hall 9 or higher can receive Super Troop donations if their Clan Castle has enough space.
These mechanics are described in Supercell Support’s About Super Troops guide and its Super Troop Events guide. Supercell’s older 2020 announcement describes historical rules; its original seven-day duration and cooldown should not be treated as current mechanics.
