The Canon EOS R6 V and PIXMA G3770 form a practical record-making workflow: capture respectful stills and short video, protect the originals, select a coherent story set, then print a few photographs for albums, gifts or community displays. The approach suits Durga Puja’s craft, worship, music and immersion as well as regional Dussehra observances, while keeping names, places and consent attached to the memories.
Document the festivals as living traditions
Durga Puja is a ten-day festival honouring goddess Durga, celebrated most notably in Kolkata during September–October and also across India and the Bengali diaspora. UNESCO says it was added to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2021. Its visual story extends from artisans shaping Durga and her family from unfired Ganga clay, through Mahalaya and the painting of the eyes, to pandals, drumming, community gatherings and immersion on the tenth day.
Dussehra has regional forms. The commonly described narrative is Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana, symbolising the victory of good over evil, while Bengal’s Vijayadashami concludes Durga Puja with immersion. India Tourism lists 20 October 2026 for that year’s Dussehra entry; verify the local calendar and identify the locality and tradition in every caption rather than treating one account as universal.

Plan a respectful shot list
Before arriving
- Ask organisers or participants before photographing people, private rituals, children or restricted areas. Explain whether images may be shared online, printed or displayed publicly.
- Record the festival name, locality, date, organiser and the names of people who agree to be identified. Note the spelling immediately or in a voice memo.
- Carry tested, formatted cards, a spare Canon LP-E6P battery and weather protection. Crowds, dust, rain and long walks make a simple backup and power plan essential.
Build a complete visual sequence
A useful narrative is not a collection of only idol portraits. Cover opening preparations, craft, worship, music, food, friends, processions, immersion and a closing family portrait. Include wide context, mid-distance activity and close details so an album can show both scale and human participation.

Use the EOS R6 V for detail and movement
Canon lists the EOS R6 V with a full-frame CMOS sensor of approximately 32.5 megapixels, RF lens mount, RAW/CR3 and C-RAW recording, JPEG and HEIF options, and dual-card recording using CFexpress Type B and UHS-II SD. Its maximum burst rate is up to 20 frames per second. Compatible 4K movies can also provide individual JPEG or HEIF frame grabs, although a frame grab should not replace a properly timed still photograph.

Use the two-card option as part of a recording plan, not as a substitute for backup. Confirm that both cards are compatible and formatted in the camera, and review a few files after the first important sequence.

Protect originals before editing
- Copy the camera card to a computer or primary storage location.
- Copy the same originals to a second, physically separate location before deleting anything from the card.
- Keep the untouched CR3 or C-RAW files and original video in a clearly named festival folder.
- Only then create edited working files and exports. Preserve the date, locality and consent notes alongside them.
Turn hundreds of frames into a story set
Select 12–30 images that a family or community member can understand without a photographer’s explanation. Keep the sequence varied: preparation, craft, installation, worship, music, food, people, procession, immersion and a final portrait. Remove near-duplicates and technically weak frames, but retain a few quiet details that establish atmosphere.

Correct exposure and white balance consistently across the set. Keep an untouched original, then export a high-quality JPEG for printing. Captions should state the festival, locality, date, people (with consent) and the ritual or event shown. A caption on the reverse, in an album, or in a companion digital file prevents context from being lost.

Print selected memories with the PIXMA G3770
Canon describes the PIXMA G3770 as a wireless refillable-ink printer with print, scan and copy functions. Its listed maximum resolution is 4,800×1,200 dpi. Canon specifies an approximately 45-second print for a 4×6-inch borderless PP-201 photo, with zero-margin borderless printing. The ink system uses GI-71 pigment black and dye-based cyan, magenta and yellow inks.

A reliable print sequence
- Make a few 4×6-inch borderless proofs first.
- Check skin tones, lamp highlights, shadow detail and cropping under the light where the print will be viewed.
- Correct the JPEG or print settings, then print larger or square selections for an album, wall grid, greeting card or family gift.
- Let prints dry fully, keep them flat and dry, and protect them from direct sun.
- Store a digital copy with the caption and identification information.
Choose capture and print settings around the event
For capture, weigh low-light image quality, autofocus and burst behaviour, lens field of view, battery and card handling, audio and video needs, weather and crowd conditions, and your own comfort carrying the equipment. A wide lens helps establish a crowded pandal; a normal or short-telephoto view can isolate details without stepping into a ritual space.

For printing, compare borderless sizes, paper compatibility, ink availability and cost, print speed, colour-management controls, scanning or copying requirements and safe storage. The G3770’s refillable system is useful when making a batch of family copies, but the number of prints you need and the paper surface you prefer should determine the final selection.

Label photographs so future viewers know whose memory they are seeing and where it happened. Identify a pandal or neighbourhood when appropriate, distinguish a workshop from a worship space, and avoid publishing a person’s name or face without consent. For immersion and other sensitive moments, follow organiser guidance and photograph from a safe, non-obstructive position. The goal is preservation that respects participants and the living heritage being documented.
