The current official offer, presented on hosting.com, advertises 50% of the first invoice for eligible core hosting sales, capped at $400 per sale. That is not a recurring commission: only eligible new-customer purchases count, renewals do not, commissions face a 45-day approval period, and payout requires $100 in approved commissions.
Is the A2 Hosting affiliate program still active?
The current public affiliate offer is presented on hosting.com, while its FAQ and affiliate policy still refer to A2 Hosting. That supports saying the program is currently offered through hosting.com; it does not establish that every legacy A2 affiliate account or tracking setup has migrated. If you already have an A2 account, confirm its status and tracking arrangements with the program before relying on it.

How much does the program pay?
The official offer bases commission on the eligible customer’s first invoice, excluding tax, fees, and checkout credits. Rates listed on the current program page are:

These are advertised rates, not a forecast of affiliate income. The public sources do not establish typical order values, conversion rates, cancellation rates, or earnings by audience. A 2008 A2 Hosting press release reported fixed historical payouts of $50 to $100, but that is not the current offer. A third-party directory lists conflicting terms; it does not override the current official pages.
Who qualifies for commission?
The policy says commission applies to eligible purchases made by new customers through your unique tracking URL. Renewals are excluded, so this is a first-invoice model rather than a recurring-revenue program. Self-referrals are prohibited. Sales must also remain active and comply with program requirements through the approval period.

The public official sources do not establish a current cookie duration. Do not rely on a cookie period quoted by an older directory unless the program confirms it for your account.
When are commissions approved and paid?
The official FAQ and policy specify a 45-day approval period, subject to the customer remaining active and the sale complying with the rules. Once you have at least $100 in approved commissions, payment is scheduled for the next 15th. The policy states that payment is in U.S. dollars and that balances below the threshold carry over for up to 18 months.

That delay and minimum matter most to a new or low-volume publisher: a sale is not immediately available for payout, and a balance below the minimum does not trigger payment.
What promotion rules should affiliates know?
The affiliate policy prohibits bidding on trademark terms for hosting.com or A2 Hosting—including variations and misspellings—unless you have written authorization. Do not build a paid-search campaign around those branded queries without that approval. The policy also requires appropriate affiliate disclosure and compliance with applicable advertising and consumer-protection laws.

Disclose your financial relationship clearly where you recommend the service, and check the program policy for requirements that apply to your placements and traffic sources.

- You can explain plan differences accurately and help readers choose based on their needs.
- You can attract qualified new customers and tolerate the approval delay and payout threshold.
It is a weak fit when
- Your audience has little or no hosting-buying intent.
- Your business model depends on commissions from customer renewals.
- Your promotion plan depends on branded paid search without written permission.
The 50% headline alone cannot show whether the opportunity will be profitable for your site. Without audience-specific performance data and typical first-invoice amounts, any monthly earnings estimate would be speculative.
