TCS reported consolidated revenue of ₹73,188 crore, profit for the period of ₹13,934 crore and earnings per share (EPS) of ₹38.37 for Q2 FY2027, the quarter ended September 30, 2026. It also declared a second interim dividend of ₹12 per share, with an October 14, 2026 record date and payment scheduled for October 30. The results describe company performance; the dividend is a cash distribution. Neither guarantees a particular share-price move or an investor’s overall return.
What were TCS’s latest quarterly results?
Tata Consultancy Services’ latest available results as of October 9, 2026 cover Q2 FY2027, which ended September 30. TCS follows an April 1–March 31 financial year. The figures below are reported consolidated results, not an independent assessment of the share price. TCS’s October 8, 2026 results filing contains the detailed statements.

Q1 FY2027 is the immediately preceding quarter, so comparing Q2 with Q1 shows quarter-on-quarter change. Q2 FY2026 is the same quarter one year earlier, so comparing Q2 FY2027 with it shows year-on-year change. These comparisons answer different questions; use the matching periods rather than treating them as interchangeable.

Revenue, profit and EPS are indicators of reported operating and financial performance. They can inform how investors assess a company, but the filing does not establish how the market will price TCS shares. A share price may reflect expectations and other factors as well as reported results; the results alone do not show that the price must rise or fall.

Your investment outcome depends on more than the company’s quarterly figures. It also depends on your purchase price and timing, subsequent share-price changes, any dividends received and taxes. A dividend is cash income, while a capital gain or loss arises when shares are sold. The dividend-tax rules below do not determine the tax treatment or amount of tax on a share sale.
Who is entitled to the ₹12 dividend, and when is it paid?
TCS declared a second interim dividend of ₹12 per equity share for FY2026–27. The company’s notice sets October 14, 2026 as the record date and schedules payment for October 30, 2026. Eligibility is based on beneficial owners reflected in the relevant depository or company records on the record date. TCS says its shares can be bought in India through a broker or financial institution that provides brokerage at BSE or NSE. The company says it does not offer a direct stock purchase plan or a dividend reinvestment program. A dividend is not an automatic extra shareholding: it is a cash payment, subject to eligibility and applicable tax withholding.

How is TCS dividend income taxed?
Resident individual shareholders
TCS’s current investor FAQ says dividend income is taxable and describes tax deducted at source (TDS) at 10% when an individual’s aggregate dividend payable during the tax year exceeds ₹10,000, if PAN details are updated. It states a 20% TDS rate if PAN is not updated. TDS is tax withheld when the payment is made; it is not necessarily the shareholder’s final tax rate. The ₹10,000 test is based on aggregate dividend payable during the tax year, not just this ₹12-per-share payment. In TCS’s example, when a later payment causes the annual total to cross the threshold, deduction applies to the payment that takes the total over the limit; it is not retroactively deducted from earlier payments. For the broader tax treatment, the Income Tax Department says resident share dividends are taxable at the recipient’s applicable rate. It also says interest expense incurred to earn dividend income may be deducted only up to 20% of that dividend income. See the Income Tax Department’s dividend-income guidance.
Non-resident shareholders
TCS’s FAQ describes general withholding of 20% for non-resident dividend payments, plus applicable surcharge and cess. It says a lower rate under an applicable tax treaty may apply when the required documentation is submitted. The applicable rate and paperwork depend on the shareholder’s tax residence and status, so confirm the current treaty requirements with a qualified tax professional.

How to check your dividend and tax records
- Confirm the declared amount, record date and payment date in TCS’s latest dividend notice and the relevant exchange disclosure.
- Check that your PAN and shareholder or depository records are accurate, since TCS identifies PAN status as relevant to its TDS treatment.
- Compare the dividend received and TDS shown in your account records with your aggregate dividends for the tax year.
- Use your applicable tax status and rate to determine your final tax position; withholding and final liability are not necessarily the same.
