Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is substantially faster than Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 in the available pooled AnTuTu 11 and Geekbench 6 results. Those scores are aggregated from different numbers of devices, not from a controlled test of otherwise identical phones. Qualcomm’s platform briefs also list different capabilities, including Wi-Fi 7 and hardware-accelerated ray tracing for the 8s Gen 4. The better choice for you still depends on the phone’s price, cooling, memory, software and regional configuration.
Benchmark results: Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 leads
NanoReview’s comparison page reports higher pooled scores for Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in all three directly comparable results below. The figures are aggregated device results, and the sample counts differ by chipset, so they indicate a performance direction rather than a guaranteed score for every phone.
| Benchmark | Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 | Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 | Samples (8s Gen 4 vs 7s Gen 4) |
|---|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu 11 total | 2,314,417 | 1,041,898 | 457 vs 35 |
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 2,072 | 1,223 | 50 vs 15 |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 6,649 | 3,168 | 50 vs 15 |
NanoReview’s comparison also reports higher graphics-compute results for the 8s Gen 4, while several 3DMark results for the 7s Gen 4 are unavailable. Avoid treating those unavailable results as a win or loss.

- AnTuTu 11 combines CPU, GPU, RAM and I/O testing, so its total is a broad device-performance indicator.
- Geekbench 6 reports CPU performance in single-core and multi-core workloads.
- These are not matched-phone laboratory results. Sample counts are unequal, and phone design, cooling, memory, firmware and power limits affect scores and sustained performance.
CPU and graphics capabilities
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform page lists a Kryo CPU with a prime core reaching up to 3.2 GHz and performance cores up to 3.0 GHz, alongside an Adreno GPU. Its product brief advertises 31% improved CPU performance and 49% improved GPU performance compared with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. These are Qualcomm’s previous-generation comparisons, not measured gains over the 7s Gen 4.

For the 7s Gen 4, Qualcomm claims 7% improved CPU performance and 7% improved GPU performance over the previous generation of the 7s family. That is also a generational comparison, not a direct result against the 8s Gen 4. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 platform page and product brief describe selected gaming and display features, but do not establish a directly comparable clock-speed specification in the material cited here.
Connectivity and platform features
The chips’ published feature sets differ. These are platform capabilities, not a promise that every phone using a chip will implement every feature; check the exact handset specification.
| Area | Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 | Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 |
|---|---|---|
| Wireless connectivity | Wi-Fi 7, advertised peak speed up to 5.8 Gbps; Bluetooth Core Specification 6.0; 5G downlink up to 4.2 Gbps | 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity; the cited product brief does not state matching Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or peak 5G figures |
| Display | WQHD+ support up to 144 Hz | WFHD+ support up to 144 Hz and HDR10+ |
| Gaming and graphics | Hardware-accelerated ray tracing with global illumination | Selected Snapdragon Elite Gaming features and Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0 |
| Camera and AI | The cited brief states 44% improved AI performance versus Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 | 4K HDR recording and on-device generative AI support |
Qualcomm’s 8s Gen 4 product brief and 7s Gen 4 product brief describe these platform features. The 8s Gen 4’s 44% AI figure, like its CPU and GPU uplifts, compares with its own predecessor—not the 7s Gen 4.

Which chipset should you choose?
Choose a phone with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 if
- You prioritize the higher performance shown in the available pooled benchmark results.
- You want to consider features such as Wi-Fi 7 or hardware-accelerated ray tracing, after confirming the phone supports them.
- The specific handset offers suitable cooling, memory, software support and pricing for your needs.
Consider a phone with Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 if
- A particular phone using it better fits your budget or other requirements.
- Its published display, gaming, recording or AI features meet your needs.
- You are choosing between complete phones rather than buying based on a chipset name alone.
Chip-level data cannot settle which phone is the better value. A concrete 8s Gen 4 example is Xiaomi’s POCO F7, whose official product page identifies its chipset. Its current price, availability, regional model and full specifications still need to be assessed as a phone. The cited sources do not establish a matched comparison against a specific 7s Gen 4 handset.
How to read Qualcomm’s performance claims
Qualcomm’s uplift percentages use each chip’s own preceding generation as the baseline. For the 8s Gen 4, the brief cites 31% improved CPU, 49% improved GPU and 44% improved AI performance versus the 8s Gen 3. For the 7s Gen 4, Qualcomm cites 7% improved CPU and 7% improved GPU performance versus the prior 7s generation. None of those percentages is a head-to-head measurement between the two chips in this comparison.
The benchmark figures above are from NanoReview’s aggregated results, checked on October 7, 2026. Because the page is dynamic and device submissions can change, scores and sample counts may not remain the same.
