Royal Caribbean’s onboard internet service is called VOOM. Its Surf + Stream package is designed for web browsing, email, messaging, social media, video chat and streaming, using a Wi-Fi-capable phone, tablet or laptop. The price and available offers depend on your sailing and how many devices need access, so check the Cruise Planner for your reservation before you buy.
What Royal Caribbean’s VOOM package includes
Royal Caribbean describes Surf + Stream as its package for everyday online activities, including browsing, email, messaging, social posting, live video chat, and streaming music, shows and movies. The company says the package provides 24-hour access and can be purchased for up to four devices; the exact options shown may vary by sailing. Royal Caribbean’s VOOM page describes the package and displays per-device estimates rather than one price that applies to every cruise.
Royal Caribbean also advertises VOOM as “up to six times faster than Wi-Fi on other cruise ships.” That is the company’s marketing comparison; the cited page does not provide independent testing or a comparison method, so it should not be treated as a verified speed guarantee. How you connect onboard
Use a Wi-Fi-capable device
Connect a Wi-Fi-capable phone, tablet or laptop to use VOOM. The package is internet access through the ship’s network, not a requirement to buy a specific device. Royal Caribbean’s internet and device FAQ explains the supported device types.

Check whether your ship has an iCafe
Some ships also offer wired internet stations in an iCafe. Availability and location vary by ship; see Royal Caribbean’s onboard internet options FAQ for the company’s listed options.
What determines the price
There is no single price established for every sailing. Royal Caribbean says cost varies with the service package and number of devices, and its displayed package rates are estimates that vary. To see the offer for your cruise, sign in to the Cruise Planner associated with your reservation and check the current package name, price and availability. Royal Caribbean’s FAQ says prices vary, while its package page labels its displayed prices as estimates.

The company recommends buying before sailing through its cruise-planning account for its biggest discount compared with onboard prices. Its booked-cruise page also says one-day access is available, even though packages are designed for the full sailing. - Count the devices that need access. Check whether the available per-device option fits your group and whether the reservation offers a multi-device package.
- Match the package to what you’ll do. Surf + Stream is described as supporting both basic online activities and streaming or video chat.
- Compare the actual pre-cruise and onboard offers. Use your sailing’s Cruise Planner listing; prices and availability vary.
- Check for eligible benefits. Suite class and Crown & Anchor Society tier may affect what you pay or receive, subject to specific terms.
Suite and loyalty benefits
Royal Suite Class benefits vary by eligibility. Royal Caribbean’s FAQ says eligible Star and Sky guests receive Surf + Stream, with one device per person and one device active at a time; access ends at 8:00 a.m. on departure morning. The FAQ excludes Sky Junior Suites and Sunset Junior Suites, and identifies a booking-date condition for a Spectrum of the Seas Sky Balcony Suite benefit.
