Short answer: Manus AI looks promising for bounded, supervised tasks with a clear deliverable, but the available evidence does not establish that it completes everyday work reliably across the board. Manus reports efficiency gains for one configuration of its Cascade system; those figures are not an independent test or a general task-success rate.
What Manus AI can automate now
In its September 28, 2026 announcement, Manus described Manus 2.0 as a new architecture and product generation. It said its Cascade agent harness can keep project briefs and deliverables together, and that its Automations can launch work in response to activity in connected services. Examples include new email, calendar events, Slack messages, Notion updates, and changes in ad performance. Manus Studio is described as supporting documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, slides, websites, code, games, and video. These are capabilities Manus says the product offers; they do not demonstrate that every workflow works reliably in practice. Manus’s Manus 2.0 announcement
An earlier June 2025 company account listed research and information gathering, website creation, slides, image and video generation, and data visualization among common uses. Manus also acknowledged that early implementation costs and wait times had exceeded user expectations at the time. That historical account does not establish current pricing or performance. Manus’s September 2026 announcement says: “In one tested configuration, Cascade used 23.2% fewer tokens, finished tasks in 28.2% less time, and cost 32% less to run than our previous system.” This is a company-reported comparison between one Cascade configuration and Manus’s previous system. The announcement does not provide a task set, sample size, independent replication, or confidence interval alongside the claim. It therefore should not be read as a promise of lower user bills, faster completion for any particular job, or a measure of how often Manus gets tasks right. Manus’s Manus 2.0 announcement
#1 Best Overall
An October 5, 2026 review notes that Manus’s GAIA benchmark figures are vendor-reported and do not translate into the probability that a user’s particular task will succeed. Benchmark results can help characterize performance on a defined test, but they do not establish everyday automation reliability. October 2026 evidence-focused review of Manus
What independent examples reveal
A July 2026 Delta4 review describes two hands-on tasks: producing a competitor research report and creating a functioning landing page. Two examples can show what to inspect, but they are not a representative sample and cannot establish Manus’s average success rate. Delta4’s July 2026 Manus review

For a research report, check whether competitor names and prices are real and current, and whether complaint themes are supported by usable sources. For a landing page, confirm the requested sections are present, test the call to action, and establish whether the result is actually deployed or only an internal preview. A polished-looking output is not by itself evidence that the underlying work is correct or usable.
Separate context comes from a September 2026 TechRadar report on Decodo research covering 45 AI agents and 10 browsing capabilities. It says none reached the maximum 20-point score and describes weaknesses involving transactions and safeguards across the evaluated group. This is evidence about the broader evaluated agent group, not a Manus-specific result. TechRadar’s report on the Decodo agent research
How to evaluate Manus on your own work
Test it on a representative, low-risk task before trusting it with important work. Write down what a complete, acceptable result must include, then judge the output against that checklist rather than against the agent’s confidence or presentation.
- Define the deliverable. Specify required content, format, source quality, and any actions the agent must or must not take.
- Use the same inputs for repeat attempts. Record incomplete work and errors as well as successful results; a single polished example cannot show consistency.
- Check facts and sources. Verify names, dates, prices, and other claims against current, usable sources.
- Test functionality. For a page or workflow, exercise the requested features and confirm that connected-service triggers behave as intended.
- Review permissions and consequential actions. Be especially cautious before an agent sends, publishes, purchases, or changes data.
- Measure the usable result. Include human correction time, time to a deliverable you can actually use, and consumption or cost for your own task.
If you are comparing agents, use the same prompts, files, acceptance checklist, and comparable permissions. Compare task completion, factual accuracy, source quality, working integrations, correction effort, repeated-run consistency, actual usage cost, and safeguards. These are evaluation criteria, not established Manus performance scores.

So, how well does Manus perform?
Manus is aimed at broad, multi-step digital work, and its current product direction includes event-triggered workflows as well as deliverables such as documents, websites, code, and video. Its published efficiency claim is limited to one company-tested configuration against its previous system. Public independent evidence cited here remains too limited to support a dependable routine-task success rate or an overall ranking against other agents. Treat Manus as a tool to evaluate on your own bounded workflow, and verify the output before relying on it.
