Ragnarok Origin does not use one game-wide pity counter. Each summon pool or upgrade system can have its own threshold, currency, eligible rewards and reset rules. Normal Pet Summoning guarantees an A-grade pet by 60 attempts, while Legendary Pet Summoning guarantees an S-grade pet by 120 attempts. Limited-time summons use an independent, banner-specific counter, and event gachas can set different limits such as 50 or 60 draws.
Before spending Gacha Tickets, Nyan Berries, pet coupons or another event currency, open that banner’s information panel. Confirm the guarantee, the counter you are advancing, whether progress persists when the banner changes, and what happens after the reward is granted. The live panel is more authoritative than a general pity number because rules can vary by banner, region and server age.
What “pity” means in Ragnarok Origin
A pity system is a safety net for random draws. Failed attempts advance a counter; once the counter reaches the banner’s threshold, the game guarantees a specified result. The guarantee does not make every draw equally valuable, and it does not mean that all banners share progress. It only limits how long you can go without the result described by that particular summon or upgrade system.

A player can be close to a pet-summon guarantee while having no progress on a limited-time summon, because the official limited-summon note says that its pity is independent of other summoning pools. Enchanting has another counter again; its 50-try guarantee is not evidence that character or item gachas all use 50 pulls.

The table describes documented examples, not a complete list of every live banner. If a current banner displays a different threshold, currency or reset message, follow that banner’s wording.
Pet Summoning guarantees
Normal Pet Summoning: A-grade at 60 attempts
The ROO Global official pet wiki describes Normal Pet Summoning as a random summon that guarantees an A-grade (gold) pet every 60 attempts. “Every 60 attempts” is the planning ceiling stated by the system: count attempts made in that pet-summon pool and treat the 60th as the point by which the A-grade result is guaranteed.
The guarantee concerns the grade, not a particular pet species, skill combination or cosmetic outcome. A random A-grade result can still differ from the pet you wanted. Check the banner’s reward list and current counter to see which A-grade pets are eligible before you buy or spend coupons.
Legendary Pet Summoning: S-grade at 120 attempts
Legendary Pet Summoning has a higher documented threshold. The same official wiki states that it guarantees an S-grade (red) pet every 120 attempts. This is a separate planning number from Normal Pet Summoning’s 60 attempts; progress in one should not be used to estimate progress in the other unless the in-game interface explicitly combines them.
As with the normal pool, the guarantee is for the stated grade. It should not be read as a promise of a named S-grade pet, a duplicate-free result or a particular stat roll. Use the Legendary banner’s own reward list for those details.
What the pet thresholds do not establish
The published pet descriptions establish the 60- and 120-attempt guarantees, but they do not provide a universal rule for every other summon. They also should not be used to infer a universal drop rate, a “50/50” featured-item rule or cross-banner carry-over. Those properties belong to the relevant banner’s information panel.
Limited-time Summoning uses its own pity
Limited-time Summoning is not a second name for Normal or Legendary Pet Summoning. The official limited-summon patch note explicitly says: “The pity system in Limited-time Summoning is independent of other summoning pools.” In practical terms, attempts made in a limited banner advance that banner’s counter, not an unrelated pet-summon counter.
This independence matters when deciding whether to switch banners. A nearly complete pet counter does not make a limited-time draw safer, and limited-summon progress should not be assumed to help a normal or legendary pet guarantee. Keep separate notes if you are alternating pools, and verify the number displayed on each banner before pulling.
The phrase “independent” does not answer every persistence question. It does not, by itself, promise that progress survives a banner’s end, returns when an event reruns, transfers between regions or remains after a content update. If the panel does not state carry-over, regard it as unconfirmed rather than assuming it.
Event gachas and Nyan Berry draw limits
Event gachas can define their own pity ceilings. In the cited official event, the following rewards had these guarantees:

These are event rules, not a permanent Ragnarok Origin rule. They were tied to a specific event and are subject to server-age gating and later changes. A current Nyan Berry banner may use another threshold, another reward pool or another draw currency, so inspect its details rather than applying 50 draws to every event.

How to interpret “within 50” or “within 60”
A statement that an item is guaranteed within 50 draws sets a maximum number of draws under that event’s rules, not a promise that the item appears exactly on draw 50. You might receive it earlier through the normal random outcome. If you do not, the guarantee applies by the stated limit. The same interpretation applies to the 60-draw Honey Bee Trolley example.
Nyan Berries are not a universal pity currency
Nyan Berries are one documented event currency, alongside virtual Gacha Tickets, pet coupons and other event draw currencies. The currency identifies what you spend; it does not determine a game-wide pity number. A Nyan Berry event can use 50 draws for one reward and 60 for another, as the cited event demonstrates. Read the cost per draw and the guarantee text together before converting or spending currency.

Enchanting has a separate 50-try guarantee
Enchanting is an upgrade activity rather than a summon pool. Its guide states: “You will get guaranteed random special enchantment after you reach 50 tries.” After the guaranteed special enchantment is granted, this enchanting counter resets.
The result is random within the special-enchantment outcomes described by the enchanting interface. The 50-try rule should not be transferred to pets, limited summons or event items. If you are tracking several systems at once, record enchanting tries separately from draw attempts so that one counter is never mistaken for another.

Does pity carry over or share between banners?
Only the relationship explicitly documented for a system should be treated as reliable. Limited-time Summoning is independent of other summoning pools. The cited event thresholds belong to that event’s own gachas. Enchanting resets after its special-enchantment grant. These facts do not establish that a limited banner carries progress into the next limited banner, that two Nyan Berry events share a counter, or that a pet counter survives a banner replacement.
When carry-over is important, look for a sentence in the banner’s information panel describing persistence, expiration or reset. Take a screenshot of the counter and rules before a banner closes if you need a record for support; the screenshot can also show which pool you were using and which currency was consumed.
How to check a banner before you pull
- Open the exact summon or upgrade screen. Do not rely on a general “gacha” menu. Select Normal Pet, Legendary Pet, Limited-time Summoning or the named event gacha you intend to use.
- Open the information, rules or details panel. The button’s label can vary by interface, but it is the screen that lists rewards, draw costs and guarantee text.
- Identify the threshold and unit. Confirm whether the rule is expressed in attempts, draws or tries. “50 tries” for enchanting and “50 draws” for an event gacha are separate counters.
- Check the eligible reward. A grade guarantee, such as A-grade or S-grade, is different from a guarantee of one named item. Read the reward list and any featured-item wording.
- Check the currency. Confirm whether the action spends Gacha Tickets, Nyan Berries, a pet coupon or an event-specific currency. Do not assume currencies can advance the same counter.
- Read persistence and reset language. Look for statements about independent pools, banner expiry, carry-over and what happens after a grant. If the panel is silent, treat the behavior as unconfirmed.
- Record the displayed progress. Note the current counter and the server or event name before starting a planned sequence. Recheck after a draw if the counter appears not to move.
Planning pulls without inventing a universal rate
Start with the result you actually need. If any A-grade pet is acceptable, Normal Pet Summoning’s 60-attempt ceiling is the relevant documented planning point. If you need an S-grade pet, use the Legendary Pet Summoning threshold of 120. For a named event item, use only the number shown on that event’s panel, such as the cited 50- or 60-draw limits.
Next, separate a guaranteed outcome from an ordinary random outcome. A banner can award the target before its pity threshold, but the threshold is the conservative number for a full guarantee under the stated rules. Do not calculate a budget from a guessed drop rate or assume a featured-item 50/50 split; the cited official material does not provide one universal rate or rule.

Event currencies and limited banners can be time-bound, and server-age restrictions can prevent an account from seeing the same event rules as another server. If you cannot complete a planned sequence before the banner closes, spend only what you are prepared to lose without relying on unverified carry-over.
Regional and server-age differences
Ragnarok Origin’s available gacha content is not necessarily identical everywhere. Official patch notes gate some gachas by server age, and Gravity reports availability and price ranges by region. A guide describing an event on one server therefore cannot establish the live rules for every account.

When comparing advice from different players, match at least four details: region, server age, banner name and date. A threshold copied from an older event may be accurate historically yet irrelevant to a newly opened server or a rerun with changed rewards. The in-game panel for your account resolves that ambiguity.

The counter did not advance
First verify that the draw used the same pool and currency. A Normal Pet attempt cannot be expected to advance a Limited-time Summoning counter, and an enchanting try is not a gacha draw. Reopen the banner details and compare the displayed counter before and after the action.

You switched banners and lost sight of progress
Return to the original pool and check its own counter. Independent pools can display different progress values. If the original banner has ended or the interface no longer shows the number, the available rules do not justify assuming that progress transferred to the replacement.
The threshold or reward changed
Check whether you are looking at a different server-age configuration, region or event version. Historical event guarantees, including the cited 50- and 60-draw examples, are not permanent game-wide settings.
The guarantee produced an unexpected result
Read the guarantee wording precisely. “A-grade pet,” “S-grade pet” and “random special enchantment” describe categories or grades, not necessarily a named target. The reward list and banner rules determine the eligible outcomes.
Practical examples
Example: choosing between pet pools
A player who wants a higher-grade pet should compare the two documented ceilings rather than treating all pets as a 60-attempt goal. Normal Pet Summoning’s guarantee is A-grade at 60 attempts; Legendary Pet Summoning’s is S-grade at 120 attempts. Each plan uses its own pool, so attempts in one should not be deducted from the other.

Example: saving for an event item
Suppose a live event lists a target with a 50-draw guarantee and another item with a 60-draw guarantee. Those limits apply to their respective event rules. Spending Nyan Berries on one does not establish progress toward the other unless the event panel explicitly shows a shared counter.
Example: mixing enchanting with summons
If you make 49 enchanting attempts and then perform a pet summon, you have not reached the enchanting guarantee. Enchanting tracks tries in its upgrade system; the special-enchantment guarantee occurs after 50 tries and then resets. Pet attempts remain on their pet-summon counter.

The reliable documented anchors are 60 attempts for an A-grade Normal Pet, 120 attempts for an S-grade Legendary Pet, independent progress for Limited-time Summoning, event-specific 50- or 60-draw examples, and a separate enchanting guarantee after 50 tries that resets.
