Oleh Veheria reports that a Claude Code pull-request review workflow saved about 30 minutes per engineer per day on his multinational iOS team after months of daily use. That is one author’s account—not a controlled study or a general benchmark. Its practical lesson is the boundary he drew: let agents flag specific, checkable issues early, while people retain design judgment and make the final merge decision.
What the workflow does
Claude Code reviews each pull request before a human reviewer sees it. Rather than asking one agent to assess everything, Veheria splits the first pass across agents focused on narrow review dimensions. The goal is to surface mechanical findings sooner, leaving people more room to assess questions such as module boundaries, API shape, and whether a feature belongs in the proposed location.
Require actionable findings
Each finding must identify a file and line and explain a concrete failure scenario. Findings without that scenario are discarded. Veheria says this filter reduces vague advice, such as generic suggestions to improve readability, and keeps attention on issues a reviewer can verify.
This makes the agent’s output a starting point for review, not a substitute for it. A location and plausible failure scenario give a human something specific to inspect; they do not establish that the proposed change is correct or worth merging.

Why the human keeps the merge decision
Veheria says he previously tried auto-merging changes when the agent review was green. He removed that setup after seeing that a change could satisfy visible proxies, such as passing tests, while still missing the intended goal. As he puts it, “The agent advises, the human decides.”
In this workflow, agents provide suggestions; human reviewers assess intent and design, and a person remains responsible for the merge. The distinction matters because passing a check is evidence about that check—not proof that the change belongs in the product or solves the right problem.

What the reported 30 minutes means—and what it does not
Veheria reports saving about 30 minutes per engineer per day on one multinational iOS team, after months of daily use. He also says review-cycle time fell and review quality held, but does not publish numerical changes or a measurement method for either outcome.
The account does not specify team size, a defined baseline period, calculation details, or a comparison group. Veheria says he did not adequately measure escaped defects or reclaimed senior hours. The figure is therefore a first-person result, not evidence that Claude Code will save the same amount for another team or that review quality was independently verified.

How to try the approach on your team
Veheria’s recommendations come from his own rollout experience; they are practical guidance, not independently tested adoption rules.
- Choose a metric and baseline it first. Decide what you want to measure, such as review-cycle time or time saved per engineer, then record a week without agents. Veheria says he measured savings after rollout and had to reconstruct the baseline. His retrospective: “I should have agreed the number I cared about, and how I would measure it, before the first agent ran.”
- Start with one repository and one review dimension. Veheria names consistency as a relatively safe place to begin. A narrow scope also makes it easier to judge whether the findings are useful.
- Make findings advisory, not gates. Keep a human accountable for assessing the change and merging it. Do not treat a green agent review as authorization to merge.
- Expand only when the signal earns confidence. Add review dimensions or repositories as the team learns which findings are accurate and useful.
