Yes. Nintendo can alert you when games on your Wish List go on sale, through promotional email on its website or a separate Sales notification in the Nintendo Store app. Nintendo’s regional Sales & Deals page is where to confirm a live offer. If you want to judge whether a price is unusually low, independent trackers advertise price histories and target-price alerts—but their coverage, refresh rate, and paid features vary. Always verify the listing, region, price, and sale end date in the storefront before buying.
How Nintendo’s sale alerts and price tracking fit together
There are three different jobs here, and they are not interchangeable. Nintendo’s Wish List helps you keep track of games you may want and can generate sale notifications when the relevant setting is enabled. Nintendo’s Sales & Deals page shows the offers currently available in a particular storefront. Independent price trackers add historical context, regional comparisons, or alerts tied to a price you choose.

That distinction matters when deciding whether to buy. A Nintendo notification can tell you that a saved game is on sale; it does not, by itself, tell you whether the sale price is a personal best or a good price compared with previous offers. A tracker may help answer that question, but its record is only as useful as its coverage and history. The current storefront listing remains the final check for the price and terms that apply to your account.

Yes, but the website and app use separate notification controls. Setting up one does not mean the other is enabled.

Nintendo’s website Wish List
Nintendo’s Wish List announcement, dated March 16, 2020, says to sign in to a Nintendo Account and select “Add to Wish List” on a game page. It says games on the list can prompt an email when a game is released or goes on sale, if promotional emails are enabled for the account. Nintendo put it this way: “By adding games to your Wish List, you’ll also receive a heads up via email whenever a game in your list is released or goes on sale.”
The announcement documents the feature, but it dates from 2020. Check your current Nintendo Account communication preferences and the Wish List page if the labels or behavior have changed. The important distinction is that adding a game to the list alone may not be enough for an email: the announcement makes promotional-email opt-in a condition.
Nintendo Store app notifications
The Nintendo Store app has its own controls. Nintendo’s support FAQ gives this path:
- Open the app and go to the User Page.
- Tap the settings gear.
- Choose Notifications.
- Enable Sales (for items on your Wish List).
The app treats sale and game-release notifications as separate toggles. Turn on Sales for sale alerts; enable the release option separately if you also want notices when wishlisted games are released. Do not assume that an email preference on the website will change either app setting.
Check whether the Nintendo Store app is available where you live
Nintendo’s support FAQ describes the app as available for iOS and Android in regions where the eShop is available. Its Americas availability list includes Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and the United States. That is a regional list, not a guarantee that the same app features or availability apply everywhere; check Nintendo’s local support information and your device’s app store.

There is a separate regional restriction for physical purchases through the app: Nintendo says those are available only in the United States and Canada. This restriction concerns physical-item purchases, not the general idea of receiving Wish List notifications. The app can also redeem a Nintendo eShop Card, which may be a way to add funds for a planned digital purchase; the card is optional and is not a sale alert or a discount mechanism.
Where to confirm a current Nintendo eShop sale
Nintendo’s US Sales & Deals page lists offers on digital games and downloadable content and invites shoppers to check back for featured offers. It is a live storefront page, not a stable list: prices, discounts, availability, and sale end dates can change. A price seen in a notification, tracker, or old article should therefore be treated as a prompt to check the current product listing, not as a promise that the offer is still available.

Before purchasing, confirm the game and edition, the storefront region and currency, the displayed price, and the offer’s end date. Also check whether the offer is for the game itself or for downloadable content. These details determine what is actually being sold and whether the offer applies in the store you intend to use. The US page establishes what is listed in the US storefront; do not treat it as proof of an identical offer in another region.
Does Nintendo eShop show price history?
The Nintendo support material described here documents sale notifications, but does not establish that Nintendo provides a historical price chart. If you want to see previous prices or set an alert for a chosen amount, you will need to look at what an independent tracker offers.
NTPrices says it tracks price history and regional eShop prices, offers custom target-price email alerts, and refreshes prices daily. Those are NTPrices’ descriptions of its service, not independent measurements of its coverage or accuracy. The NT Deals App Store listing advertises price history and statistics, desired-price alerts, and comparisons across regions; it also marks some capabilities as premium. Its user reviews are individual reports, not verified proof that a feature works consistently or covers every game and region.

Before relying on a tracker, inspect the details behind the feature label. “Price history” is only useful if the service covers the storefront and game you care about and retains enough history to answer your question. “Price alert” can mean any discount, or it can mean a notification when a price reaches a threshold you specify. Regional comparison can show price differences without establishing that purchasing from another region is suitable for your account.

Compare trackers using the same questions rather than relying on a headline such as “all-time low” or “best price.” The answers help reveal whether a chart or notification fits your decision.
- Store and region coverage: Check that the tracker includes the storefront and region where you expect to buy. A comparison across regions is not the same as a recommendation to purchase in another region.
- History length: Look for how far back the record goes. A new game or a platform with a short record may not have enough history to establish a meaningful long-term low.
- Low-price labels: Find out whether an “all-time low” refers to the full available record or a shorter period. A low in a limited record is not necessarily the lowest price the game has ever had.
- Alert trigger: Determine whether the notification fires for any discount or only when the price reaches your chosen target. NTPrices describes custom target-price email alerts; NT Deals advertises desired-price alerts.
- Refresh cadence: Check how often the tracker updates. NTPrices says it refreshes prices daily; that is the service’s stated cadence, so a tracker’s figure may not be synchronized with a storefront change at every moment.
- Paid features: Identify which history, statistics, comparison, or alert functions require payment before you build a routine around them. The NT Deals App Store listing marks some capabilities as premium.
A tracker can help organize information, but it cannot replace checking the live Nintendo listing. A stored observation may be older than the offer currently shown, and the tracker’s record may not include every storefront or historical price.
A practical routine for buying a game on sale
- Save the game. Add it to Nintendo’s website Wish List or the Nintendo Store app Wish List. If you use the website, make sure promotional emails are enabled for the account if you want the email behavior Nintendo documented.
- Enable the notification you intend to use. In the app, go to User Page, tap the gear, open Notifications, and turn on Sales for Wish List items. Enable release notices separately if wanted. Website email and app alerts have separate controls.
- Set a meaningful target if price matters. Use a tracker that covers your storefront and choose a price at which you would actually buy. NTPrices recommends target-price alerts as part of its service guidance. A threshold is more useful when it reflects your budget or buying decision than when it is simply set as low as possible.
- When an alert arrives, open the regional Nintendo storefront. Confirm that the title and edition match, the offer is currently live, and the displayed currency and amount are the ones relevant to you. Check the stated end date before deciding.
- Check the tracker’s context, not just its headline. Review the date range, region, and price record behind any low-price claim. If the game is recent or the service’s record is short, treat the chart as limited context rather than evidence of a long-term bargain.
- Make a region-aware decision. Compare the tracker’s region with the account and store region you plan to use. A lower listed amount in another currency does not, by itself, establish that the purchase is available or appropriate for your account.
Common reasons an alert or price comparison can mislead
The alert is enabled in the wrong place
A user may have added a game to a list but not enabled the relevant communication setting. Website sale emails depend on promotional-email opt-in as documented in Nintendo’s announcement; app Sales notices are controlled in the app’s Notifications settings. Check the control for the channel you actually use.
The offer is no longer live
A message can arrive after the offer page or price has changed, and a tracker’s stated update cadence may not be real-time. Verify the live storefront listing and its end date before relying on any earlier notification or record.

The region or currency does not match
Trackers may compare regional prices, but that comparison alone does not answer whether a different region’s offer can be used with the account or storefront you intend to use. Confirm the region and currency on the live Nintendo listing rather than choosing solely by the lowest converted amount.
The chart does not show a meaningful long-term low
A short history window can make a current price look exceptional simply because earlier prices are missing. This is especially relevant for a newer game or a service with limited data for that title. Treat an “all-time low” claim in light of how much history is actually available.
What these tools can and cannot tell you
Nintendo’s tools are useful for watching a list and checking offers in its storefront. The documented app setting is specifically for sales on Wish List items, while the 2020 website announcement describes sale and release emails subject to promotional-email opt-in. Neither source establishes a Nintendo price-history chart.
Independent trackers can add a record of observed prices, regional comparisons, and alert options, according to their own feature descriptions. They do not guarantee that every regional listing is covered, that a historical record is complete, or that the lowest price shown is still available. Use an alert to decide when to investigate; use the current regional Nintendo listing to decide what you can buy and on what terms.
