There is no single current storage figure verified for every platform. HoYoverse’s launch-era requirements were 57 GB on PC plus 58 GB of additional decompression space, 26 GB available on iOS, 20 GB available on Android, and 55 GB available on PS5. A June 2026 Steam announcement later listed 75 GB for PC. These figures come from different dates and contexts, so use them as planning references—not as guaranteed current installed sizes. Update downloads are separate: for Version 2.6, HoYoverse listed packages from 5 GB to 23 GB depending on platform.
Zenless Zone Zero storage requirements by platform
The most useful answer depends on what you mean by “storage”: the space listed for the game, the extra room needed while installing it, or the temporary package downloaded for a particular update. HoYoverse’s published figures below cover more than one release period, and they do not establish the exact installed footprint as of October 2026.

The 2024 values are launch-period requirements. They are useful for understanding the original installation’s scale, but they are not a current guarantee. Likewise, the later 75 GB PC figure belongs to a Steam announcement and should not be treated as a direct remeasurement of the earlier 57 GB requirement. The difference reflects different publication points and contexts; the figures are not interchangeable.

Full installation, update download, and installation workspace are different
A storage number can refer to several stages of getting the game running. Confusing them can lead to either underestimating the room an installation needs or mistakenly assuming that every update adds its download size permanently to the game.
- Full-game requirement: a published amount associated with installing or storing the game. The cited PC, mobile, and PS5 launch figures are requirements from July 2024, not verified October 2026 totals.
- Temporary update package: the files downloaded for a particular version. Its size is not the full game’s installed size.
- Decompression workspace: extra space used while installation files are unpacked. HoYoverse’s initial PC requirement listed 58 GB in addition to 57 GB for storage.
For initial PC installation, the two Version 1.0 figures add up to 115 GB of listed storage and decompression requirements. That sum describes the launch-era figures together; it does not mean the installed game itself occupied 115 GB, and it should not be presented as a current PC requirement. The separate Steam announcement published in June 2026 lists 75 GB for PC.
Think of decompression space as working room needed during an installation process, not as a second permanent copy that should automatically be added to every later PC number. HoYoverse’s wording attached that extra 58 GB to the July 2024 Version 1.0 notice. It does not say whether a present-day installer needs the same amount. If you are installing now, rely on the current installer’s own space check rather than applying the old 115 GB total as a universal rule.
The same distinction applies to updates. A 5 GB package is the approximate amount for a particular pre-download, not proof that the complete game takes 5 GB or that the final installation grows by exactly 5 GB. Package size and installed footprint answer different questions, so compare like with like.
How large was the Version 2.6 update download?
HoYoverse’s February 4, 2026 Version 2.6 pre-download notice gave approximate package sizes by platform. These are for that update only, not the complete installation.

Those sizes are version-specific. They do not establish how much room the full game takes on any of those platforms, including Xbox. HoYoverse also says installed voice packs affect the space needed for pre-download, so two players on the same platform may not need exactly the same amount for this update.

A pre-download is an optional advance step for obtaining update files before the version is ready to install. HoYoverse’s Version 2.6 notice directs PC players to the pre-download control in the HoYoPlay launcher and mobile players to the in-game resource pre-download. It also outlines console procedures and warns players to ensure they have sufficient device space. The notice does not turn the listed package sizes into a permanent storage target; check the platform or client prompt when starting that particular update.

HoYoverse’s Version 3.2 update announcement, dated September 9, 2026, describes update procedures for PC, Android, iOS, PS5, and Xbox. It does not publish current full-install totals across those platforms. That distinction matters when planning: an update-package figure from Version 2.6 cannot fill in the missing current installed-size figure, and a procedure notice does not itself establish one.
How much free space should you leave?
Use the current requirement shown by the client or platform store as your starting point, then make sure the device has enough free space for the operation you are about to perform. An installation may need room for more than the final game files, and a pre-download has its own package requirement. The official figures provided here do not establish a universal extra-space margin for every current platform or version, so there is no evidence-based single “safe buffer” to add to every number.
- Identify the task. Decide whether you are installing the game for the first time, updating an existing installation, or downloading a pre-update package. Do not use an update package size as the full-game requirement.
- Check the current platform listing or client. Compare its stated requirement with the device’s reported free space. This is particularly important for mobile and Xbox, where a current full-install total is not established by the figures above.
- Account for the installation stage. On PC, distinguish the final storage requirement from any additional decompression space specified by the current installer. The 57 GB plus 58 GB values apply to HoYoverse’s July 2024 Version 1.0 notice, not necessarily to the present installer.
- Allow for the selected voice packs during pre-download. HoYoverse notes that installed voice packs affect update pre-download space. If the client reports insufficient room, free space or adjust the selected resources as the client permits before retrying.
- Recheck after installation. The amount needed to download or unpack files is not necessarily the same as the space the finished installation occupies. Use the platform’s reported free space and the client’s current requirement rather than adding an old update package to a published full-game figure.
These checks are more reliable than estimating from a device’s total storage capacity alone. A phone or console can have a large drive and still lack enough free space for an update because other games, media, or files occupy it. Look at available space, not just the device’s advertised capacity. If you are short, first remove or move files you no longer need, then check the client again; the published figures do not specify a universal cleanup amount that guarantees success on every platform.
Platform-specific planning notes
PC
There are two relevant official PC figures, but they answer different time-specific requirements: HoYoverse’s July 2024 launch notice listed 57 GB plus another 58 GB for decompression, while the Steam launch announcement published June 16, 2026 listed 75 GB. Do not add the 2024 decompression figure to the 2026 Steam requirement as if they were a single current specification; the sources do not establish that combination.

An SSD is therefore a performance-oriented installation recommendation from HoYoverse, not a separate storage-size figure. The notice does not say that all PC players must buy a new drive, nor does it identify a particular model or connection standard. If your PC already has a suitable SSD, the practical question is whether it has enough available room for the current installer’s requirement and any workspace the installer requests.
iPhone and iPad
The launch notice listed 26 GB of available space for iOS in July 2024. That is a dated available-space requirement, not a verified current client size for every iPhone or iPad. For a new installation or update, check the current listing or in-client requirement on the device; the Version 2.6 package was approximately 5 GB, but that number applies only to that pre-download.
Make the check on the device you plan to use, because its free space—not simply the storage capacity printed in its specifications—determines whether the current install or update can proceed. If you have installed voice packs, account for HoYoverse’s warning that voice resources can change pre-download space needs.

Android phones and tablets
The July 2024 launch notice listed 20 GB of available space for Android. It is not a current guaranteed installed total. The Version 2.6 pre-download package was approximately 5 GB for mobile, but it is not the full game size and can be affected by installed voice packs.
Do not infer a current Android total from the 20 GB launch requirement or treat the 5 GB update as enough space for a fresh installation. Check the current client or platform listing and the device’s actual free-space reading before beginning. The official figures here do not give a single current Android size that applies to every phone or tablet.
PS5 and PS5 Pro
HoYoverse’s July 2024 launch notice listed 55 GB of available space for PS5. Its February 2026 Version 2.6 pre-download figure was approximately 20 GB for PS5 and PS5 Pro. The later update number describes that package, not the complete game on either console.

For either console, compare available storage with the current install or update prompt rather than assuming the original 55 GB is still the full requirement. The 20 GB figure belongs to one pre-download and should not be added to 55 GB as a current total: the notices refer to different dates and different kinds of space.
Xbox Series X|S
A current full-install total is not established by the cited figures. The official Version 2.6 notice listed an approximately 23 GB Xbox Series X|S pre-download package. That number is not a substitute for the full-game requirement. Check the current console listing or client requirement before installing or updating.
The Xbox package is the largest of the four Version 2.6 figures listed, but that comparison is only about that particular update’s pre-download sizes. It does not show that Xbox requires more storage for the full game than PC, PlayStation, or mobile. No current Xbox full-install total is stated in the cited announcements.

Storage requirements are snapshots from a particular date and release context. The original Version 1.0 notice described the July 2024 launch; the Steam announcement provided a later PC figure in June 2026; and the Version 2.6 notice reported one update’s pre-download sizes in February 2026. They measure different things and cannot be combined into a current cross-platform installation chart.
Updates, platform, and selected voice resources can all affect the space needed for a particular operation. HoYoverse’s Version 3.2 announcement in September 2026 provides procedures across the supported platforms but no current full-install totals. As a result, the dated figures in this article are best read with their labels intact: they show what HoYoverse published in those contexts, not the exact footprint every player should expect today.
For an apples-to-apples comparison, compare full-game requirements with other full-game requirements, update package sizes with the same version’s package sizes, and installation workspace with workspace. The available figures do not provide current full-install totals for every platform, so a complete, current cross-platform ranking would be misleading. When your device or installer reports a newer requirement, use that prompt for the immediate decision and keep the date and platform attached to any older number you use for planning.
