Call of Duty: Mobile does not have one universal final size. The base app differs by platform, and optional maps, weapons, operators, HD resources, audio and other downloads increase the footprint. Activision’s Version 35.0 notes dated December 8, 2025 list approximately 1.6 GB on Android and 3.3 GB on iOS. The U.S. App Store listing accessed in 2026 showed 3.1 GB, but that is a store-listing figure, not a guaranteed total after every resource is installed.
What the published storage figures actually mean
Storage discussions about COD Mobile often mix three different measurements:
- App size: the package installed from Google Play or the App Store.
- Additional resources: maps, weapons, operators, HD graphics and audio downloaded after installation.
- Working space: temporary room needed while an update unpacks, verifies or replaces files.
The official figures available are app-size statements, not a promise that every fully configured installation will fit within the same number. Activision’s Version 35.0 update notes, published December 8, 2025, report approximately 1.6 GB for Android and 3.3 GB for iOS. The U.S. Apple App Store listing accessed in 2026 displayed 3.1 GB. The iOS figures differ because they come from different sources and dates and may describe different build or listing measurements; neither should be treated as a universal total.

Because Activision lets players choose some resources, two phones running the same game version can use different amounts of storage. There is therefore no source-backed answer such as “COD Mobile always needs exactly X GB.” Check the app’s current download screen and your phone’s storage panel rather than relying on an old total quoted online.

How optional downloads change the footprint
Activision’s store description identifies optional downloads such as HD resources, maps, weapons and operators. Selecting more of them increases local storage use; selecting fewer keeps the initial installation smaller. The choices are not purely cosmetic, however, because some content affects what you can play or the quality you hear and see.
Maps and modes
In Version 35.0, Activision says the Isolated Battle Royale map cannot be played until its download is complete. If you omit that resource, the mode remains unavailable until you return to the Download Manager and obtain it.
Audio quality
The same Android notes state that audio is lower quality until HD audio finishes downloading. Saving space by postponing HD audio can therefore change sound quality, even though the game remains playable in other respects.

Platform-specific packaging
For Version 35.0, Activision says the Isolated map and HD audio are included in the iOS base build, while Android players download them separately. These details are version-specific. A later update can change what is bundled, what is optional and how much space each item needs, so use the current in-game list for your build.
How to reduce COD Mobile’s own download
Android: use the in-game Download Manager
- Open COD Mobile and wait for the main lobby to load.
- Tap the down-arrow icon at the bottom of the lobby to open the Download Manager.
- Review the available maps, resource packs, weapons, operators and HD assets.
- Download only the items you currently need. Leave optional packs pending if you are trying to minimize the initial footprint.
- After an update, check the manager again. Activision’s Version 35.0 notes warn that some content needs to be downloaded again after updating.
- Keep the game open until each selected item reports completion, then launch the relevant mode to confirm that its required files are present.
The documented workflow is for choosing downloads. The available instructions do not establish a universal, item-by-item deletion control after a resource has been installed. Do not assume that tapping a resource will safely remove it on every version or device; first look for an explicit remove, manage or redownload option in your current Download Manager.
iPhone and iPad
Use the resource controls presented inside the game after installation. The App Store description confirms that players can choose what to download, but the supplied official material does not document one fixed iOS deletion path. Menu names and available controls can change with the game version, so avoid deleting app data simply to remove one optional pack.

Trade-offs before you skip a resource
- Skipping a map can prevent access to the mode that uses it.
- Skipping HD audio on Android leaves lower-quality audio until the pack is downloaded.
- Skipping HD graphics or other assets may reduce visual quality or require a later download when you join content that needs them.
- Downloading everything at once uses more space and may require additional temporary room during installation.
How to free space elsewhere on the phone
If the game’s own optional downloads are not enough, reclaim space at the device level. The safest order is to identify what is large, remove things you no longer use, and avoid resetting COD Mobile unless you understand the redownload consequences.
1. Inspect the storage screen first
Open your phone’s built-in storage view and note which categories are consuming space: applications, photos and videos, offline media, downloads or system data. Exact labels differ between Android manufacturers and iOS releases. This check prevents deleting a small game resource when a forgotten video folder is the real cause of the failed update.
2. Remove or offload unused apps
Review the largest applications and uninstall those you no longer use. On iOS, an offload option may remove the app while retaining documents for a later reinstall, depending on the app and system settings. On Android, use the device’s app-management screen and confirm that you are removing an app you can safely reinstall. Do not remove COD Mobile as a first step merely to make room; its optional resources may have to be downloaded again.

3. Clear cache for other apps when the system offers it
Activision’s support guidance recommends reviewing large or unused apps and clearing cache for other apps. Cache clearing is a device-management action, not a guarantee that COD Mobile itself can be safely reduced this way. Android manufacturers expose different controls, while iOS generally manages caches automatically and may not provide a comparable per-app button. Follow the wording shown by your own operating system and avoid any command that says it will erase app data or documents unless that is intentional.
4. Move or delete personal files you have backed up
Large camera videos, downloaded films, podcasts and duplicate files can free more space than game maintenance. Verify that important files are backed up and that the copy opens before deleting the local version. External drives, USB-C flash drives and cloud services are not established by the available game documentation as a supported way to move the installed COD Mobile package itself; use them for personal files instead.

5. Retry the update or resource download
- Return to the phone’s storage screen and confirm that the reclaimed space is visible.
- Restart the phone if the free-space value has not refreshed.
- Open COD Mobile and retry the pending update or Download Manager item.
- Keep a stable connection and avoid starting several large downloads simultaneously when space is tight.
- Check the Download Manager for any content that still needs to be obtained after the update.
What not to delete without checking
- COD Mobile app data: deleting data can reset local files and force resource redownloads. The supplied official material does not establish the exact result of every reset option.
- The app itself: reinstalling may restore the base package but not optional maps, audio or HD assets, which can make the next launch consume substantial data and time.
- Account credentials: before any uninstall or reset, make sure your progress is linked through the game’s supported account system. Do not rely on an unverified guest session surviving a reinstall.
- System folders: deleting files from file-manager locations you do not recognize can damage other apps or the operating system.
If you have already removed the app or cleared its data, reinstall it from the official store, sign in with the account previously used for your progress, and allow required resources to download before judging the final storage use.

Compatibility requirements and update planning
Activision support’s surfaced requirements list Android 6.0 or newer with at least 2 GB of RAM and iOS 15.0 or newer with at least 2 GB of RAM. These are compatibility requirements, not a storage guarantee. A phone can meet them and still fail an update because its free storage is insufficient or because temporary installation space is unavailable.
Before a major update, open the storage screen, remove expendable files, and leave room for both the incoming package and any resources you plan to redownload. Since official figures are approximate and version-dependent, use the current store listing and the in-game Download Manager as the final check for your device.

Start with options that do not touch the game’s local data. Only remove COD Mobile data or uninstall after confirming account access and accepting that the game may need to download its resources again.
