There is no verified, universal price for replacing a Nintendo Switch 2 battery. Nintendo’s official support pages reviewed here do not list a current battery-only fee for the U.S. or Canada; the cost depends on your region, warranty status and the console’s condition. Check coverage and request a quote from Nintendo before budgeting for a repair.
Why there is no single confirmed price
Nintendo directs owners to its service process rather than publishing a fixed Switch 2 battery-replacement price in the official U.S. information cited here. Nintendo of America says out-of-warranty service may be available for a fee, but its service pages do not specify a battery-only amount. In Japan, Nintendo says post-warranty repairs are paid and the charge is calculated based on the product’s condition when it is serviced.
That means a quote may depend on what Nintendo finds during inspection; the available information does not guarantee a battery-only replacement at a set price. Do not treat a repair price for an older Switch model, another region or an unrelated repair as a Switch 2 battery quote.

- Check your warranty status. In the U.S. and Canada, Nintendo’s service information states that hardware has a one-year warranty from the purchase date. Keep proof of purchase available. Coverage depends on the warranty terms and assessment of the problem; physical damage is excluded.
- Start a service request with Nintendo for your region. Describe the battery symptoms and provide the requested purchase details. Nintendo’s U.S. service request page is the starting point for U.S. and Canadian customers: Nintendo service request and warranty information.
- Review the diagnosis and quote before approving paid service. Ask whether the proposed repair covers the battery alone or other work identified during inspection. Fees and procedures are regional, so use the local Nintendo service process rather than applying a price from another country.
Check whether the battery may need service
Nintendo says a fully charged Switch 2 should run for 2 to 6.5 hours, depending on the software being used and the functions in use. If yours runs for less than the stated range, Nintendo recommends service. Can you replace the battery yourself?
Nintendo Support Japan says customers cannot replace the batteries in the Nintendo Switch 2 console or its controllers themselves and directs owners to Nintendo Service Center repair. That guidance does not establish that third-party parts or repair instructions are compatible or safe. If you are considering service outside Nintendo, confirm the provider’s experience with Switch 2 and ask how the repair may affect warranty coverage.

A Nintendo UK repair-price list effective 1 October 2021 names earlier Switch models, not Switch 2. It cannot establish a current Switch 2 battery price. Nintendo UK also says repair costs are confirmed after examination. Those figures should not be carried over to a different model, date or region.

What to have ready when contacting support
- Your proof of purchase and purchase date, especially if you may be within the U.S. or Canadian one-year hardware warranty period.
- A short description of the runtime, whether the console reaches a full charge, and the software or functions used when battery life seems unusually short.
- Your console’s region and any visible damage, so the service team can direct you to the appropriate local process.
