Godlike.Host offers hosted Satisfactory servers with its own game panel, SFTP access and free DDoS protection, if you would rather not host it yourself.
A rented Satisfactory server usually costs about $6 to $25 per month for a small group in 2026. Current examples include plans for five players at $7.99 per month, 10 players at $12.99, and 30 players at $24.99. The cheapest listed tier is $5.99 per month for a six-player plan from Gravel Host. Self-hosting avoids a hosting subscription because the dedicated-server software is free through Steam, but you pay for electricity, hardware, internet service and setup time.
For most groups, renting is the simpler choice when you need reliable availability and do not want to configure a router. Self-hosting can be cheaper if you already have a suitable computer that stays on and you can forward the required ports.
2026 Satisfactory server prices at a glance
There is no published market-wide average price for Satisfactory servers. The figures below are individual vendor prices reported for 2026, so treat them as reference points rather than a guaranteed quote. Hosting prices can change by billing cycle, location, promotions and player limit.

The table shows why a realistic rental budget is roughly $6 to $25 per month for a typical private group. Player slots are not the only consideration: RAM allocation, CPU performance, storage speed, backups, support and server location can matter more than the headline slot count.

Annual billing example
Supercraft lists a 12-month Plan S price of $75 and describes it as 22% off. That works out to $6.25 per month when spread across the year, but it requires paying the annual amount up front. Confirm the renewal price and cancellation terms before choosing a long billing period.
What a rented server bill normally covers
A rental charge generally pays for a continuously running virtual or physical machine, a control panel, data-center connectivity and the provider’s maintenance of the host system. The exact package differs between vendors, so check whether backups, automatic updates, mod support, a dedicated IP, extra storage and support are included or billed separately.

- Memory: More RAM helps with larger saves and busier factories, but CPU single-core performance and disk speed also affect simulation and save times.
- Location: A server region close to most players usually reduces latency. A cheaper distant region can produce a worse experience.
- Backups: Verify how often backups run, how many versions are retained and whether restoring one costs extra. A backup feature is valuable because a corrupted or unwanted save can otherwise be irreversible.
- Billing: Determine whether the advertised amount is recurring, promotional, before tax, or restricted to a particular data center or payment term.
Self-hosting: the subscription is free, but the computer is not
Satisfactory’s dedicated-server software is free to install through Steam. That does not make a self-hosted server costless: the machine consumes power, needs an internet connection, occupies storage and requires configuration and maintenance.
Electricity estimate
As an illustrative calculation, a computer drawing about 65 watts continuously uses approximately 47 kilowatt-hours in a 30-day month. At an electricity rate of $0.15 per kilowatt-hour, that is roughly $7 per month. This is an arithmetic example, not a measured Satisfactory-server result; your machine’s idle draw, power supply efficiency, usage schedule and local rate will change the total.

Other self-hosting costs
- Hardware: If you already own a suitable desktop or small server, the incremental cost may be limited to electricity. Buying a system solely for this purpose can exceed several years of rental fees.
- Internet service: You need an upload connection capable of serving every player and a service plan that permits inbound connections. Data usage policies vary by ISP.
- Uptime: A home server is unavailable when the computer, router or power is down. A UPS can reduce outages but adds hardware cost.
- Administration: You are responsible for operating-system updates, Steam updates, firewall rules, save backups, monitoring and recovery.
- Opportunity cost: Running a main PC around the clock may consume more power than a small, efficient server. Measure the system at the wall if you need an accurate monthly figure.
Hardware requirements for a self-hosted server
Published requirements conflict, so size the machine conservatively. The Fandom dedicated-server page is reported to list 12 GB of RAM as a minimum and 16 GB as recommended for larger saves or more than four players. IONOS lists 8 GB for one to four players and 16 GB or more for larger saves or more than four players. Because the official Coffee Stain minimum could not be verified in the available material, planning for at least 12 GB is the safer baseline until the official documentation confirms otherwise.

RAM capacity is not a player-count formula. A four-player world with a large, complex factory can be more demanding than a fresh world with more casual activity. Leave headroom for the operating system and other services rather than allocating every gigabyte to the game process.
Ports and router configuration
The Fandom wiki reports that the default Satisfactory server port is 7777 and that both TCP and UDP are used. A 2026 guide additionally reports TCP 8888 and says older instructions listing 15000 and 15777 are outdated. Liquid Web still lists UDP 7777, 15777 and 15000. Because these lists conflict, verify the current official Coffee Stain documentation for your server version before changing a firewall or router.
When a port must be forwarded, forward it from the internet-facing router to the server’s fixed local IP address, and create matching inbound firewall rules on the operating system. Do not expose unrelated administrative services. If your internet provider uses carrier-grade NAT, ordinary port forwarding may not work; ask the provider whether you can receive inbound connections or use a different hosting arrangement.

The wiki, as relayed by a second search, identifies -Port= and -ReliablePort= as launch parameters for changing ports. Changing a port without updating both the router and firewall creates a server that appears to start locally but cannot be reached by remote players.
How to self-host a Satisfactory server
- Prepare the machine: Use a supported Windows or major Linux release, an x86-64 CPU and an SSD with the recommended free-space headroom. Give the machine a stable local address so forwarding does not break after a reboot.
- Install the dedicated server: Install the free dedicated-server software through Steam and allow its files to finish updating before attempting to connect.
- Create a save and administrator setup: Start the server locally, complete its initial configuration and select or create the world your group will use. Keep an offline copy of the save before making major changes.
- Configure networking: Confirm the current port list for the installed version, then forward only the required TCP and UDP ports to the server’s local address. Apply the same rules in the operating-system firewall.
- Set launch parameters only when needed: If the default ports conflict with another service, use
-Port=and-ReliablePort=, then update every corresponding firewall and router rule. - Test from outside your home network: Have a friend on a different connection attempt to join. A test from the same LAN can succeed even when internet access is blocked.
- Maintain the world: Schedule save copies, monitor disk space and memory, install updates during a planned maintenance window and record the working port and backup locations.

Choose rental hosting when the group values convenience, predictable availability and a fixed monthly bill. Choose self-hosting when a suitable computer already runs continuously, you can meet the memory target and router configuration is practical. A new hardware purchase made only to avoid a $6–$25 monthly bill may take a long time to break even once electricity and replacement risk are included.
Common problems and fixes
Players cannot connect from outside the house
Check that the server has a stable local IP, that the router forwards both required protocols, and that the operating-system firewall allows the same ports. Test from a different internet connection and confirm that the ISP is not using carrier-grade NAT.
The world pauses during autosaves
Move the server files to an SSD, keep adequate free space and avoid running heavy disk workloads at the same time. The storage guidance specifically warns that slow disks can stall autosaves in busy worlds.

The server runs out of memory
Stop unrelated services, reduce background workloads and assess the save’s size and player activity. The published figures support planning for at least 12 GB and 16 GB for larger saves or more than four players; adding RAM is preferable to relying on swap space.
A port guide gives conflicting numbers
Do not open every port mentioned by an old tutorial. The available 2026 guidance conflicts over 8888, 15000 and 15777, so check the official documentation for the installed version, then expose only the ports it requires.

Record the previous server version, port settings and save location. Back up the world before updating, apply the update during a maintenance window and retest remote access afterward. If the new version changes networking requirements, revise both router and firewall rules together.

Small group with no spare computer

Larger group of up to 16 players
The cited Indifferent Broccoli tier is $20.99 per month for 16 players. Compare its memory, backup policy, location and renewal terms with other plans rather than choosing solely by slot count.
Up to 30 players
Supercraft’s cited plan is $24.99 per month for up to 30 players. A large slot allowance does not remove the need to check CPU and RAM suitability for a heavily developed world.
Existing always-on home server
If your machine meets the conservative hardware targets, self-hosting may add roughly the electricity cost illustrated above—about $7 per month for a 65-watt system at $0.15 per kilowatt-hour—plus your time and any hardware wear. Measure your actual power draw before comparing it with a rental subscription.
The Bottom Line
For 2026, plan on about $6–$25 per month to rent a Satisfactory server for a typical group. Self-hosting can reduce the cash subscription to electricity and internet costs, but only if you already have suitable x86-64 hardware, at least 12 GB of practical RAM headroom, SSD storage and the ability to manage ports, backups and uptime.
