Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks, a built-in mod installer and up to three free backups a day.
A Cobblemon server costs about $2 to $32 per month on the 2026 hosted plans reviewed. A few friends can usually start with 3–4 GB of RAM, 5–10 players commonly need 6–8 GB, and larger communities or heavily modded worlds may require 12–16 GB. Intermittent groups can spend less with hourly billing and automatic sleep, while daily communities generally get better value from a fixed monthly plan.
What determines a Cobblemon server’s price?
The Cobblemon name does not set a single price. Hosting cost is driven mainly by allocated RAM, how many players are online simultaneously, processor capacity, storage, backups, protection and the billing model. The same modpack can run inexpensively for three friends but need a larger plan when many players explore separate chunks, maintain large bases or add extra mods.
Recommended Free Tools
The 2026 listings reviewed span roughly $2–$10 per month for budget 4–8 GB plans, $15.99 for one 8 GB plan, and $23.99–$31.99 for 12–16 GB plans. One European listing prices a 4 GB plan at €6.95 per month when purchased on a 24-month term. These are provider-published prices, not standardized performance tests; renewal terms, taxes, currency conversion and promotions can change the amount you actually pay.
How much RAM does Cobblemon need?
Use concurrent players and world activity as your starting point, not the total number of registered players. A server with five occasional players may need less memory than a server with five people permanently loading different regions.

| Use case | Starting RAM | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One to three friends | 3–4 GB | Astroworld Hosting estimates 3 GB for up to three players on the official pack. Crafty Servers says the pack needs at least 4 GB, so 4 GB leaves more room for spikes. |
| About five to ten players | 6–8 GB | Connect Hosting calls 6 GB the minimum and 8 GB the best-running allocation. This range also accommodates more exploration and a modest number of add-ons. |
| Community or public server | 8–12 GB | FadeHost describes 8 GB as suitable for a public server. Extra simultaneous exploration, entities and moderation or utility mods can push a community beyond 8 GB. |
| Large community or heavily expanded pack | 12–16 GB | Connect lists 12 and 16 GB tiers for higher demand. Large bases, many loaded chunks, Pokémon pastures and additional mods increase memory and tick pressure. |
RAM is not a guarantee of smooth ticks. A powerful CPU, fast storage and a sensible view distance matter too. If the host lets you change the JVM allocation, do not assign every gigabyte to Java: the operating system, panel and file cache also need headroom. Connect’s guidance describes 6 GB as a realistic floor and 8 GB as the recommended JVM allocation for its offering.

Always-on plans | Says the pack needs at least 4 GB. |
| Alpenglow Hosting | About €1.56/month in its example | Usage-based credits; idle servers sleep | The example assumes 4 GB, three three-hour evenings per week (39 hours per month), with idle time free. Its guidance lists 3 GB minimum, 4 GB for friends and 6 GB for larger groups. |
Compare plans at the same RAM tier before comparing brands or features. For example, a $2 4 GB plan and a $15.99 8 GB plan serve different workloads even though both are advertised as Cobblemon hosting. A 24-month price may also be conditional: check what the plan costs at renewal and whether cancellation is permitted before the term ends.

What will a server for five players cost?
For roughly five concurrent players, 6 GB is a practical starting point and 8 GB is the safer choice when everyone explores, builds and keeps multiple areas active. On the listed plans, that means $3 for 6 GB or $4 for 8 GB at Crafty Servers, $7.50 for 6 GB or $9.50 for 8 GB at FadeHost, and $15.99 for 8 GB at Connect Hosting. The difference reflects more than RAM: CPU allocation, storage speed, support, backups, region and network capacity may not be identical.
If the group rarely plays at the same time, do not pay for capacity that sits unused. A sleep-enabled service can stop billing while nobody is connected. Alpenglow’s published example is about €1.56 for 39 active hours in a month on 4 GB. That is an illustration of its credit model, not a universal Cobblemon rate; your total depends on the provider’s credit price, allocated RAM and active hours.
Monthly billing or pay-as-you-go?
Choose a flat monthly plan when
- The server is expected to run most days or stay online for friends in different time zones.
- You need predictable budgeting and do not want to track active hours.
- Players rely on automated farms, map viewers or other services that require the world to remain available.
- The host includes backups, monitoring or protection that would be difficult to maintain yourself.
Choose hourly or sleeping infrastructure when
- The group plays only a few scheduled sessions each week.
- You can tolerate a short wake-up delay when the first player connects.
- You are willing to configure sleep rules and confirm that backups still run while the server is stopped.
At daily usage, a flat plan usually becomes simpler and may be cheaper. At occasional usage, sleeping can reduce the paid hours dramatically. Ask whether storage, backups, reserved addresses or support remain billable while the game process is asleep.

Technical requirements before you order
Java Edition and the correct loader
The official pack is a Java Edition modpack for Fabric on Minecraft 1.21.1 in the listings reviewed. Every player needs Java Edition and the same Cobblemon pack version as the server. Bedrock clients cannot load this Java/Fabric modpack, so a Bedrock-only copy of Minecraft will not connect.
Java 21
Connect Hosting and FadeHost specify Java 21. Confirm that the host offers Java 21 as a selectable runtime; an older Java installation can prevent the server from starting or produce mod-loader errors.
The .mrpack is not the whole server
Connect explains that the Modrinth .mrpack file is a manifest. For self-hosting, an installer must read that manifest and download the required server-side files. Uploading the manifest as if it were a complete server directory will leave missing libraries or mods.

Managed hosting versus self-hosting
Managed hosting
A managed host normally provides a control panel, one-click installation and some combination of backups, DDoS protection and off-server storage. You pay for the convenience of a machine that stays online, a preconfigured loader and support when the process fails. Verify exactly which of those features are included: “backups available” may mean manual snapshots, limited retention or an extra charge.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Self-hosting
Self-hosting removes the recurring hosting fee, but it is not free in practice. You need a computer that remains powered on, a stable internet connection, Java 21, the Fabric server setup, EULA acceptance, port forwarding and a backup plan. Electricity, hardware wear and upload bandwidth become your costs. You also handle updates, firewall rules, crash recovery and protection against unwanted traffic.
A spare desktop can be appropriate for a small private group if you understand those responsibilities. Do not expose a home server without restricting the firewall and sharing the address only with trusted players.

How to set up a hosted Cobblemon server
- Confirm the edition and version. Ensure every player owns Minecraft Java Edition and agree on the exact official pack version, currently listed as 1.21.1 on Fabric.
- Select RAM by concurrent players. Start at 4 GB for a few friends, 6–8 GB for five to ten active players, and 12–16 GB for a larger or heavily expanded world.
- Check the runtime. Select Java 21 and verify that the panel’s installer supports the Fabric pack rather than a vanilla or Forge profile.
- Install the pack. Use the host’s Cobblemon or Modrinth installer. If it requests an
.mrpack, treat it as a manifest and let the installer fetch dependencies. - Set operational limits. Choose a conservative view distance, set an appropriate simulation distance and limit unnecessary entity-heavy farms before increasing RAM.
- Configure backups. Schedule automatic snapshots, keep at least one copy outside the live server and test restoring a backup before inviting the whole group.
- Test with the real workload. Have several players travel in different directions, load bases and use the features you intend to keep. Upgrade when the console reports out-of-memory errors, long tick times or repeated crashes.
How to compare two apparently similar plans
- RAM: Compare the actual allocation, not a “supports X players” slogan.
- CPU: Ask whether cores are shared, dedicated or capped and whether the plan states a processor model.
- Storage: Check the storage type, quota and whether world backups count against it.
- Backups: Confirm frequency, retention, restore fees and off-server storage.
- Network and region: Select a location close to most players and check included transfer limits.
- Protection: Determine what DDoS mitigation covers and whether a public address is exposed.
- Billing: Record currency, tax treatment, introductory pricing, renewal price and minimum term.
- Sleep behavior: For hourly services, find out when billing stops, how the server wakes and whether scheduled tasks run while asleep.
- Version support: Confirm the precise Cobblemon pack, Fabric loader and Java runtime are available before paying.
Common cost mistakes and fixes
Buying the smallest RAM tier because the server starts
A server can boot with little memory and still lag once players explore or entities accumulate. Start with the provider’s stated floor, leave headroom and watch memory and tick-time metrics during a busy session.
Comparing a long-term promotion with a normal monthly rate
Astroworld Hosting’s €6.95 price is tied to a 24-month term. Treat it as a commitment, not as a month-to-month benchmark. Read the renewal and cancellation terms before selecting it.
Assuming more RAM fixes every slowdown
High tick times can come from CPU contention, excessive entities, slow storage or too many loaded chunks. Reduce view and simulation distances, remove unnecessary add-ons and inspect the server log before upgrading.
Forgetting that all clients must match
A player using another pack version, loader or Java/Bedrock edition may see connection errors even when the server is healthy. Publish the exact version and launcher instructions to the group.
Skipping recovery planning
A cheap plan without tested backups can become expensive after corruption or an accidental overwrite. Configure backups before the first long play session and periodically restore one to a temporary location.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesBottom line for 2026
Budget about $2–$10 per month for a small 4–8 GB always-on plan, around $15.99 for a listed 8 GB plan at the higher end, and $23.99–$31.99 for listed 12–16 GB tiers. Four gigabytes is a sensible ceiling for a few friends, 6–8 GB fits many five-to-ten-player groups, and 12–16 GB is appropriate when the community or mod list grows. If you play only a few evenings, an idle-sleep service can cost less than a monthly server; if the world should be available every day, predictable monthly billing is usually the easier choice.
