The same Tom’s Guide review reports that some mid-game missions restrict players to carrier-capable aircraft. This is a reported restriction for some missions, not evidence that every mission has it. Before selecting an aircraft or spending MRP with a particular mission in mind, inspect that mission’s stated requirements and confirm the aircraft you plan to use is eligible.

Spend MRP with the whole progression loop in mind
Because the review describes MRP as currency for jets, weapons, and upgrades, aircraft are not the only reported use for it. Consider whether your next priority is gaining access to another jet or improving the options you already have. What combat and setting mean for your decisions
The campaign premise places the player in Strangereal, where a pilot adrift at sea is taken aboard the aging carrier Endurance. The publisher frames the story around command, consequential decisions, and bonds formed in battle; those are the publisher’s stated themes, not a guarantee of any particular story outcome.

The official walkthrough’s coverage of colossal targets suggests that combat is not limited to conventional aerial engagements. It establishes that the game includes large-target battles and mechanics for attacking beyond marked target zones, but it does not provide enough detail to prescribe a specific aircraft, weapon, or tactic for each encounter. Read the in-game mission briefing and available aircraft descriptions for the requirements of the encounter you are actually facing.

Multiplayer is a separate way to play
Bandai Namco’s launch communications describe cross-play and online activities including cooperative assault, cooperative warfare, time-limited emergency missions, and competitive PvP events. The base game’s reported aircraft progression should not be confused with optional edition content or downloadable content. Bandai Namco’s launch material describes Premium Ace Pass Plus as including 30 instantly unlocked Ace Pass levels and seasonal content such as aircraft skins, avatar costumes, and the additional playable ADFX-02 MORGAN –PIXY– aircraft. It is optional content, not an established requirement for unlocking the base game’s aircraft; pass contents and availability may change.
