Milo is presented as a conversational AI layer over its creator’s maintained developer portfolio: visitors can interact with portfolio information, while its owner can use designated operations to manage it. In Michael Odhiambo’s description, PostgreSQL stores the portfolio data, a FastAPI backend mediates access, and a React frontend uses that same backend.
That architecture is the key idea: rather than treating a portfolio as a collection of static pages, Milo puts structured information behind controlled operations that an AI model can call. The description comes from the project’s creator, not an independent product review or security audit.
What Milo is designed to do
Milo is an AI agent for a living developer portfolio. Its purpose is to make information about a developer’s work conversational and programmable: someone can ask about the portfolio, while the owner can interact with permitted portfolio operations.
The underlying portfolio is described as structured data covering projects, experience, skills, articles, hackathons, certificates, links, and CV information. Keeping these items in a database gives the application a maintained source of information to draw on, rather than relying only on content embedded in a frontend or scattered across documents.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How the architecture is described
Odhiambo’s article names React and TypeScript for the frontend, FastAPI and Python for the backend, PostgreSQL for persistent data, Telegram for remote interaction, and Groq-powered language models. The React application and AI interactions use the backend; the model is described as working through operations defined by the application rather than receiving unrestricted database access.
| Layer | Reported role | Technology named in the article |
|---|---|---|
| Portfolio data | Stores structured information about the developer’s work and CV | PostgreSQL |
| Backend | Exposes controlled operations over portfolio data and application logic | FastAPI and Python |
| Frontend | Consumes the backend at runtime | React and TypeScript |
| Remote owner interaction | Provides an interface for the owner to interact with Milo | Telegram |
| Language models | Support conversational model interactions | Groq-powered models |
This separation is useful to understand: the model handles conversation and requests, while application-defined backend operations govern how it can interact with portfolio information. The article reports this design and component list; it does not independently establish Milo’s current deployment configuration.

How Milo distinguishes owner actions from visitor interactions
The creator says Milo supports owner access through Telegram and separates owner-specific operations from visitor interactions. The article also says the system asks for confirmation before carrying out potentially destructive actions.

How the tailored CV workflow is intended to work
The described CV process starts with a job description. Milo retrieves relevant structured portfolio and experience data, selects evidence that fits the role, and uses that evidence to create a tailored CV. The workflow is presented as drawing on an existing base CV, with base information kept distinct from job-specific curation.
The stated goal is to tailor the material without inventing qualifications or experience. That is a design intention, not a measured guarantee that every generated CV will be accurate. A person using such a draft should still check its claims against their actual work history before sending it.

What the project description establishes—and what it does not
Odhiambo’s DEV Community article, “Milo: An AI Agent for a Living Developer Portfolio,” is a primary source for how its creator describes the project. It explains the intended architecture, interactions, and CV workflow. It does not provide an independent assessment of performance, security, or current availability.
Milo is therefore best understood as a reported software implementation and architectural example, not as a product comparison or a verified service recommendation. Its central design choices are a structured database as the portfolio source of truth, backend-defined operations for model access, separate owner and visitor handling, and CV tailoring based on existing portfolio evidence.
