There is no evidence here that MiniMax H3 makes better videos than Kling or Seedance. Comfy advertises five free Comfy Cloud runs, but describes H3 generation as credit-based, so those five runs are not five guaranteed free H3 videos. The clearest comparison is what each service lets you try for free—not which model produces the best result.
How many free H3 videos do you get in ComfyUI?
Comfy’s H3 page, updated in August 2026, advertises “5 free runs on real GPUs — no credit card required.” Those are Comfy Cloud workflow runs, not a stated allowance of five H3 generations. The same page says H3 generations use pay-as-you-go or subscription credits. Comfy suggests using the free runs to draft a shot with Wan 2.2, then spending credits on the final H3 render.
In other words, the free runs can help you try Comfy Cloud, but the page does not promise that you can generate five H3 videos without paying. Check the current terms in your account before relying on the offer; cloud allowances and model access can change.
How does the free access compare with Seedance.tv and Kling AI?
The figures below describe different services and allowances, not equivalent free video packages. Seedance.tv is a third-party service; its terms should not be treated as the terms of Seedance everywhere.

These offers differ in model, resolution, duration, credits, and watermark conditions, so their headline numbers cannot be compared as if each bought the same output. The sources cited here do not establish comparable commercial-use terms across the services.
What does MiniMax H3 offer beyond text-to-video?
MiniMax’s announcement of August 3, 2026 describes H3 as a multimodal model that can use text, image, video, and audio context, and generate video with native stereo audio. MiniMax specifies 4–15-second output at 24 frames per second, with 32 kHz stereo audio. Comfy’s H3 page instead describes 5–15-second output and support up to 2K. These are the specifications each publisher gives; the duration descriptions differ, so they should not be collapsed into one guaranteed range.

MiniMax says the shorter side defaults to 768 pixels and that 2K output uses H3-Regenerate-2K. Comfy also advertises H3 at up to 2K. That describes available capabilities, not proof that H3 produces sharper or more appealing results than competing models.

MiniMax documents first-frame and last-frame generation, plus an omni-reference mode. According to its announcement, omni-reference accepts up to nine images, up to three video clips (each 2–15 seconds, with 15 seconds total maximum), and up to three audio clips. Audio references must be paired with image or video input, and mixed input files are capped at 12. These options may matter if you want to guide a scene with existing media; their existence alone says nothing about comparative output quality.

Does “open weights” mean H3 is fully local and free?
No. MiniMax’s announcement says H3-Context-IR, the hosted preprocessing and orchestration system, was not part of the open-source release it described. It also says H3-Regenerate-2K was not yet open-sourced at that time; the full 2K workflow combines locally deployed H3-Base with official APIs. Open weights therefore do not mean every H3 feature runs locally, without a service, or without cost.
Use Comfy Cloud to try H3 without a local GPU
Comfy says its Cloud workflow runs H3 without requiring a local GPU. This is the simpler route if your goal is to try the workflow rather than manage model deployment. Keep the distinction between Comfy’s free workflow runs and H3’s credit-based generation in mind when planning a test.

Local deployment requires checking the specific workflow
MiniMax gives an SGLang example using four GPUs. That is an example configuration, not a minimum requirement for ComfyUI or a recommendation for a particular graphics card. Requirements depend on the model variant and workflow. Check current Comfy workflow requirements, memory use, and whether the path relies on hosted components before choosing local hardware.
How can you decide which generator is better for your project?
There is no controlled, matched-prompt comparison in the available official product information, and no independent quality ranking is established by the cited sources. A fair quality test would hold the prompt, reference images or audio, duration, resolution, and evaluation criteria constant, then compare the resulting clips. Without that, “better” depends on what you need rather than a demonstrated overall winner.
