Short answer: GTA VI’s music is split between an in-world radio system and separate original album and score projects. Rockstar has officially previewed six stations—Cocoteo, Back Country, Afro Bank FM, The Chamber, Flash FM and Dirty South Classics—with named hosts and broad formats. It has also announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, a 34-track original release, and an official score by Justice. Rockstar has not published a complete station-by-station licensed-song list, so a song heard in a trailer or fan playlist is not automatically confirmed for a radio station.
What is confirmed about GTA VI’s radio and music
Rockstar’s official GTA VI page describes the game as having its “biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio and podcasts yet,” spanning formats from classic rock to talk radio. That statement confirms a broad audio network, but it does not provide a final playlist for every station.
Six stations have been publicly previewed. The announcements establish each station’s identity, genre direction and presenters. They do not, by themselves, confirm individual recordings, the final number of songs, or whether every station preview will appear unchanged at launch.

The overall announcement also mentions talk radio and podcasts. Rockstar has not released a complete list of those programs, their hosts, or their episode schedules on the page that introduced the stations.

Which GTA 6 radio songs are confirmed?
At present, Rockstar has confirmed station formats rather than a complete station-by-station song catalog. The official page does not assign a full list of licensed recordings to Cocoteo, Back Country, Afro Bank FM, The Chamber, Flash FM or Dirty South Classics.
That distinction matters because music information around a major game often comes from several different sources:
- Official station announcements: These confirm a station’s concept, genre and presenters, but not necessarily its individual songs.
- Trailer audio: A track used in a trailer may be promotional music, a score cue, an album song or a radio recording. A trailer appearance alone is not a station-placement announcement.
- Leaks and fan playlists: These can identify plausible songs, but they are not authoritative until Rockstar confirms them.
- Album and score announcements: These identify original releases connected to GTA VI, but they do not automatically mean every listed track will play on an in-game station.
Therefore, the accurate answer to “What songs are confirmed for GTA 6 radio?” is narrower than many unofficial lists suggest: Rockstar has not yet published the complete licensed-radio track list. Any song-by-song list should label its evidence—official announcement, trailer identification, leak or fan speculation—instead of presenting every title as final.
How the six announced stations are designed
Cocoteo: modern Latin party programming
Cocoteo is framed as a modern Latin station hosted by El Martillo and La Gata. Rockstar’s “El party que nunca se apaga” description signals a high-energy, continuously celebratory presentation. The announcement confirms the Latin format and hosts; it does not name the recordings that will fill the rotation.
Back Country: renegade country
Back Country is the country outlet, hosted by MW and Delta Dawne. “Renegade country” indicates a deliberately outlaw-leaning identity rather than a generic contemporary-country channel. No complete artist or song list has been attached to the preview.

Afro Bank FM: a cross-regional African dance format
Afro Bank FM combines amapiano, African classics and 3-step, with Burna and Palmsy as presenters. The blend suggests programming that moves between current club-oriented sounds and older catalog material. Rockstar has confirmed the format and hosts, not the final rotation or individual track assignments.
The Chamber: heavy metal
The Chamber is presented as a “crushing metal” station hosted by DJ Kerry and DJ Tom. Its description establishes the deliberately heavy tone and the two-DJ presentation. Specific bands and songs remain unlisted in the official station preview.
Flash FM: a returning Vice City pop station
Flash FM returns from the Vice City setting as a pop station, now hosted by Robyn and Alex. The return connects GTA VI to the series’ established fictional-radio continuity, but it does not mean the old Flash FM playlist is being reused. Rockstar has not published the new station’s track list.
Dirty South Classics: regional rap and hip-hop history
Dirty South Classics focuses on regional rap and hip-hop classics, hosted by Trick and Trina. “Classics” describes the station’s historical and regional emphasis, while the announcement leaves the artists, years and exact songs unspecified.
Is the GTA 6 soundtrack the same as the in-game radio?
No. Rockstar is presenting at least three related but distinct audio categories:

- Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album: A separate release described by Rockstar as containing 34 original tracks.
- Original score: Instrumental or cinematic music credited to Justice, including the announced single “Flower in a Hurricane,” featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
The album announcement lists singles including Yung Lean’s “That’s It” featuring Future and Metro Boomin, Travis Scott’s “RHYNO,” Justice’s “Flower in a Hurricane,” Morgan Wallen’s “Last Thing You Need,” Fuerza Regida’s “Suzuki,” Rauw Alejandro’s “Macacoa 2000,” Cardi B’s “Don’t Chart,” and Keith Richards’ “Bright Lights, Big City.” Rockstar identifies these as part of the original album or score-related promotion. It does not say that every one is a radio-station track, nor does it assign each single to one of the six previewed stations.
That separation prevents a common mistake: treating “GTA VI soundtrack” as one undifferentiated playlist. A physical album can be a curated listening product, while radio stations are interactive, fictional broadcasts embedded in gameplay. A score cue can underscore a mission without ever appearing on a station.
What “licensed music” means in GTA’s radio format
Historically, GTA’s radio has combined licensed recordings with fictional broadcast production. A 2002 Take-Two/Rockstar and Sony Music announcement about Vice City described soundtrack albums organized by the game’s individual stations. Players tuned those stations in cars, and the broadcasts mixed real songs with commercials, jingles and parody DJs. The announcement described more than 80 tracks across heavy metal, soul, hip-hop, pop ballads and other styles.
That model explains why GTA radio feels different from a normal playlist. A licensed song supplies recognizable genre and period authenticity. The fictional presenter frames it, a station ident or jingle creates continuity, and a satirical commercial makes the channel sound like part of the city rather than an external music player.
The historical format is strong evidence for how Rockstar has approached radio, but it is not a guarantee of GTA VI’s final implementation. Rockstar’s current announcement confirms radio, podcasts and the six station concepts; it does not yet specify the exact number of tracks, rotation rules, dynamic interruptions or whether every station will use the same commercial and DJ structure as earlier games.

How radio is likely to function during play
In previous GTA games, the radio is selected while driving and functions as an in-world audio layer. The historical announcement specifically described tuning stations in cars. That makes the stations part of ordinary travel, pursuits and free-roam exploration rather than a separate soundtrack menu.
Expect the practical experience to be shaped by four components:
- Station selection: Switching channels changes the genre, presenters and fictional broadcast identity.
- Music rotation: Songs are sequenced within a station’s format rather than presented as one universal playlist.
- Spoken segments: DJs, talk radio, podcasts, commercials and jingles provide transitions between recordings.
- Context: Radio occupies the vehicle audio space, while score music can be used for cinematic or mission-driven moments.
Those are established characteristics of the series’ radio design, not a published GTA VI control manual. Rockstar has not yet documented the exact button prompts, accessibility controls, station favorites, podcast interface or whether players can disable commercials independently of music.

Rockstar is promoting Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album as a standalone 34-track original release and lists vinyl and CD editions alongside its own pre-order path. The announcement confirms the product categories, but it does not establish an Amazon listing, an ASIN, regional pricing, shipping dates or stock levels.

Buying the album should therefore be understood as purchasing a separate music release, not necessarily a physical copy of every song heard on GTA VI’s radio. Until Rockstar publishes the final track mapping, a vinyl or CD package cannot be assumed to contain the complete in-game station catalog.

How to evaluate GTA 6 music lists without being misled
Look for a primary announcement
A reliable list should identify a Rockstar announcement that names the song and explains whether it belongs to a station, the album or the score. A station name alone is not song confirmation.
Separate evidence levels
Use labels such as “officially announced,” “heard in a trailer,” “identified by fans” and “leaked.” These categories have different reliability. Do not merge them into one definitive playlist.
Check the release context
A song can be licensed for a trailer, included on The Album, written for the score or placed on a station. Those uses can overlap, but none should be inferred without an explicit statement.

Music licensing can change during development, and station pages can be updated. Treat an early preview as a description of the announced plan, not a guarantee that every song, host segment or station order will remain identical at release.
What remains unknown
Several reader questions cannot be answered from Rockstar’s published preview:
- The complete song list for each station.
- The final number of licensed recordings and how often each repeats.
- Which album tracks, if any, also appear on radio.
- The full roster of talk-radio and podcast programs.
- Exact in-car controls and audio settings.
- Regional differences caused by licensing or censorship.
- Whether stations change over time through updates or scripted events.
Keeping these gaps visible is more accurate than filling them with a fan-assembled playlist. The confirmed foundation is already substantial: six named stations, their broad formats and presenters, a wider radio-and-podcast network, a 34-track original album project, and Justice’s official score.
