Find the Chapel Key near the Mushroom Village Beacon: cross the freestanding stone arch by the bonfire clearing to reveal a hidden statue, then interact with the statue or its rope. The key opens the Shrine of Trials door near the Grisha Hunter area.
Where to find the Chapel Key
- Start at the Mushroom Village Beacon. Follow the path toward the bonfire clearing. Guides describe it as southeast of the Beacon or to its right; use the clearing as your landmark rather than relying on a precise direction.
- Walk through the freestanding stone arch. The statue is concealed by an illusion and appears after you cross the arch. Simply approaching the visible area may not reveal it.
- Interact with the statue or its rope. Collect the Chapel Key from the revealed statue. Some guides use the older name “Mushroom Village Key” for this item.
Where to use the Chapel Key
- Return to the Mushroom Village Beacon.
- Take the route toward the Grisha Hunter area, on the opposite side from the key’s pickup route.
- Look for the chapel or tower door and use the Chapel Key to open the Shrine of Trials.
What the Shrine of Trials leads to
Multiple guides associate the Shrine of Trials route with the Axe and Dagger reward. The location guidance establishes the route and reward association, but not detailed instructions for any puzzles inside.
If you cannot find the statue or door
- No statue appears: Make sure you have crossed through the freestanding stone arch by the bonfire clearing; the statue is hidden until you pass through it.
- You are unsure which route to take: Return to the Mushroom Village Beacon and use the bonfire clearing for the pickup route and the Grisha Hunter area for the Shrine door route.
- The item name looks different: Search results may call the Chapel Key the “Mushroom Village Key.”
- The interaction prompt differs: Guides vary in how they describe the interaction, naming either the statue or its rope. Exact prompt wording and patch-specific behavior are not established.
This route is supported by third-party guides rather than official game documentation, so use the named landmarks rather than assuming exact coordinates or a particular interaction prompt.
