For a general Lohen build, use four pieces of A Day Carved From Rising Winds, an ATK% Sands, and a weapon that complements your CRIT stats and team. Prioritize his Elemental Skill, then his Burst. Prydwen’s September 25, 2026 guide ranks Disaster and Remorse highest for Lohen’s personal damage, but the strongest choice for his own damage is not automatically the best choice for total team damage.
Lohen is a five-star Cryo Polearm character released on June 9, 2026, according to Prydwen’s guide, which was updated September 25, 2026. The build recommendations below reflect that guide and the HoYoLAB guide by Pom-Pom Guides; they are guide rankings and recommendations, not official HoYoverse rankings or independent test results. Weapon and team rankings can change with updates and with your roster.
How Lohen’s damage loop works
Lohen’s Elemental Skill, Unforeseen Strike, activates Masterstroke mode. While it is active, his Normal and Charged Attacks generate Joy, which he spends on the special Skill Etched Into Bone and Soul. Teammates build Will to Win by dealing damage during Masterstroke; that resource strengthens the special Skill and his Burst, and the Burst consumes the accumulated Will to Win. These mechanics make Lohen’s field time and the rest of the team’s damage part of one rotation rather than separate concerns. Prydwen’s Lohen guide details the kit and its build recommendations.

For the attack sequence, Prydwen recommends alternating a Normal Attack with a Charged Attack while Lohen is on field, then weaving in Skill and Burst uses to support Cryo application and Hexerei passive benefits. Repeat the attack inputs rather than holding them continuously. Adjust the sequence to the team and encounter; there is no single rotation established for every lineup.
Which weapon should you use on Lohen?
Choose based on whether you want to maximize Lohen’s personal damage or improve the team’s overall damage. Prydwen’s weapon comparison places Disaster and Remorse first for his personal damage. It also lists several CRIT-focused five-star polearms as close alternatives. That ordering is specific to the guide’s build comparison, not a universal result for every account or team.

Prydwen distinguishes Lohen’s weapon damage from total team damage and notes that his signature weapon can be a more modest gain to team damage than its personal-damage ranking might suggest. Which artifacts and stats are best?
Prydwen ranks four-piece A Day Carved From Rising Winds as the leading general set in its reviewed build table, and Pom-Pom Guides also recommends it for broad use. Start there if you have a strong set, then compare actual substats and the way your team uses Lohen’s Burst.

Prioritize CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK% substats. Pom-Pom Guides’ suggested main-stat combination is ATK% / Cryo DMG / CRIT DMG, but the Circlet choice and Goblet should reflect your final stat balance rather than follow that combination automatically. Prydwen says Lohen does not need to build Energy Recharge specifically and that his Burst can be used flexibly when available; if your rotation depends on frequent Burst use, judge the build in that team context.
When another set or Elemental Mastery may make sense
Pom-Pom Guides discusses Shimenawa’s Reminiscence, Unfinished Reverie, and Marechaussee Hunter for particular team or Burst-use situations, and identifies Burning Melt as a context for another set. Its guide also suggests considering Elemental Mastery when Lohen triggers Melt. These are conditional alternatives, not evidence that one set or a fixed amount of Elemental Mastery beats the general recommendation in every team. Choose around the reaction Lohen triggers, available substats, and whether using his Burst is part of your rotation.
Which talents should you level first?
- Elemental Skill: Prioritize this first. Its multipliers apply to Lohen’s Cryo-converted attacks in the described damage pattern.
- Elemental Burst: Level this next; it deals substantial damage and benefits from Will to Win.
- Normal Attack: Do not make this the priority for the converted-attack damage pattern described by Prydwen, because those attacks use the Skill’s multipliers.
Pom-Pom Guides likewise recommends Skill first and Burst second. The ranking is about talent investment for this play pattern, not a claim that Normal Attacks are absent from his rotation.

The cited guides support Freeze, Melt, and Burning Melt directions. Prydwen provides these named examples; their performance depends on ownership, investment, rotation execution, and the encounter.

Pom-Pom Guides also describes Melt and Burning Melt as team directions and notes that Hexerei characters can improve Lohen’s setup after relevant quest progress. That is a conditional team-building consideration, not a requirement for using him. When choosing supports, look for off-field damage, useful buffs during Masterstroke, and the sustain your content requires. Teammate damage helps build Will to Win, so support slots should be judged by their contribution to the whole rotation, not only by the buff they give Lohen.
