In Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, crossover packs add guest characters and may also include a themed machine, course, or music. The original Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game and the first Season Pass; players can also buy the pass or individual collaboration DLC separately. As of October 13, 2026, Season Pass 2 is on sale, but its first pack, Godzilla, is scheduled for November 4—not yet playable.

What counts as crossover DLC?

Crossovers are premium add-on content tied to other games, films, or entertainment properties. Rather than changing the basic definition of the racing game, a pack brings themed content into it. Depending on the collaboration, that can mean guest racers, a machine, a course, and music for the in-game jukebox. The mix is pack-specific: do not assume that every crossover includes the same number of racers or every category of add-on.

For example, the Minecraft Pack includes Steve, Alex, and Creeper as racers, the Minecart machine, the MINECRAFT WORLD course, and jukebox music. The Mega Man pack includes Mega Man and Proto Man, the Rush Roadstar machine, Wily Castle course, and jukebox tracks. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pack includes Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo, the Pizzafire Van, a New York City course, and jukebox tracks. These confirmed lineups show why it is worth checking the description of the particular pack you want rather than buying based on a general idea of what a crossover usually contains. SEGA’s Minecraft Pack announcement, Mega Man launch details, and TMNT pack details identify those contents.

How the editions and passes fit together

The simplest way to think about the purchase options is to separate ownership of the base game from ownership of add-on content. A game edition may bundle a pass, while a standalone pack grants access to one collaboration. Owning the base game alone does not automatically mean you own every paid crossover.

Purchase option What SEGA says it includes or does What to check before buying
Standard Edition The base game. It does not, by itself, establish that premium crossover packs are included. Look for the DLC entitlement in the platform-store listing or edition description.
Digital Deluxe Edition The base game plus the first Season Pass, according to SEGA’s purchase guide. The pass unlocks crossover content as it releases. Confirm that you are viewing the original Digital Deluxe Edition and not a different edition or a separately listed add-on.
Season Pass A bundle of crossover DLC. SEGA says it and collaboration DLC can also be purchased separately. Check which pass the listing names. The first pass should not be treated as including Season Pass 2.
Standalone collaboration pack A separately purchasable individual crossover pack through the relevant platform store. Verify the exact pack, platform, region, and release status; a listed or announced pack may not be playable yet.

SEGA describes the first pass this way: “With the Season Pass, you’ll unlock crossover characters, courses, and machines when they come out!” The practical point is that a pass is a way to obtain a bundle of content as it becomes available, not a guarantee that every named pack is accessible immediately on the day you buy it. Release timing matters. SEGA’s purchase guide describes the Digital Deluxe Edition, the first Season Pass, and separate purchase routes.

Does Deluxe include the DLC?

SEGA’s purchase guide says the Digital Deluxe Edition combines the base game with the first Season Pass. That is the relevant distinction: “Deluxe” here refers to a bundle that includes the first pass, not a blanket promise that every future DLC release is included. Season Pass 2 is a separate product in SEGA’s October announcement; do not assume that owning the original Digital Deluxe Edition grants it. If an edition is being purchased second-hand or through a regional store, inspect the exact listing and entitlement terms rather than relying on the edition name alone.

What is in the first Season Pass?

SEGA’s guide lists six collaborations in the first pass: Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, PAC-MAN, Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar Legends. The announced pass is broader than a character bundle: SEGA associates the packs with themed racers, machines, and courses. However, the specific categories and quantity differ by pack, so the list of six should not be read as six identical packages.

The three released examples with detailed contents illustrate that variation. Minecraft has three named racers; Mega Man has two; TMNT has four. Each of those examples also identifies a machine, course, and music. Use the individual pack description to confirm the contents you care about—for instance, whether a particular guest racer or course is part of the pack—rather than inferring it from another collaboration’s lineup. The official guide lists the full first-pass roster at SEGA’s purchase guide.

Season Pass 2: announced lineup and release timing

Season Pass 2’s status changed between SEGA’s June and October 2026 announcements. The June 6 English announcement said the pass was planned for fall 2026, named Godzilla and Evangelion, showed the Godzilla Escape and Tokyo-III courses, and said four additional crossover packs had not yet been revealed. On October 10, SEGA’s Japanese announcement named all six: Godzilla, Evangelion, Virtual Sanrio Puroland, Sega Land, Final Fantasy VII Remake series, and Persona.

As of October 13, 2026, SEGA says Season Pass 2 and Season 2 Digital Deluxe Edition went on sale on October 10. That does not mean all six packs are already playable: the same announcement schedules the Godzilla Pack for November 4, 2026, with the remaining content releasing sequentially from that date. The announcement was published in Japanese; the details here reflect that official text, and an English version was not verified. Treat dates and access shown in your local store as the check for your platform and region. See SEGA’s June Season Pass 2 announcement and its October 10 announcement.

Because the new pass and its releases are separate steps, a purchase can precede playable content. If you are deciding whether to buy now, ask two different questions: do you want the bundle and its announced future packs, and has the particular pack you want actually reached its release date? A pass being on sale answers the first question only; it does not move a scheduled pack’s launch forward.

How to get crossover characters and access DLC you own

Start with the edition or add-on entitlement, then follow the access path for your platform. SEGA’s instructions for Mega Man and TMNT distinguish between Season Pass or Digital Deluxe owners and Standard or physical-edition owners. The game also needs to be updated for the Mega Man content. The precise labels and menus can vary by platform, so use the platform store associated with the copy of the game.

  1. Check what you own. Review the edition in your platform account or store library. Confirm whether it is Digital Deluxe with the first Season Pass, a separately purchased Season Pass, or the Standard/base game. For a single pack, confirm that the pack itself appears as owned or purchased.
  2. Update the game. For Mega Man, SEGA explicitly requires the game to be updated. Install any available game update before trying to access that crossover.
  3. Complete the tutorial if you have pass entitlement. SEGA’s Mega Man and TMNT instructions say Digital Deluxe and Season Pass owners can access the DLC in game after completing the tutorial.
  4. Use the platform store if you have Standard or a physical copy without the entitlement. Find the specific collaboration DLC in the store for the platform where you play, purchase it, and download it. SEGA’s instructions call for a restart after download for these owners.
  5. Restart and check in-game. After completing the applicable purchase, download, and tutorial steps, restart the game and check for the add-on content. If the content is still absent, recheck that the correct account and platform own the add-on, and that the pack has reached its release date.

Those steps reflect SEGA’s stated process for released Mega Man and TMNT DLC; they are not a guarantee that every future pack uses identical instructions. Minecraft’s announcement likewise says Digital Deluxe and Season Pass owners receive its content when it launches and describes Standard owners as able to obtain the DLC by purchasing the pass. For another pack, follow its own announcement and store listing rather than assuming that one older pack’s access procedure applies universally.

Platforms, editions, and regional availability

SEGA’s purchase guide identifies physical and digital editions for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. It lists digital-only availability for PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Epic Games. The guide also identifies physical retail markets in selected Southeast Asian territories, so physical availability should not be assumed for every country. In particular, a format available in one territory may not be offered in another.

The guide lists a physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition with copies scheduled for March 26, 2026. If you need the base game as well as DLC, distinguish the physical game purchase from a DLC entitlement: a physical copy supplies the game edition indicated by its listing, while add-on access depends on whether the edition or a separately owned pass/pack includes it. For digital purchases, the store on your own platform is the most useful place to confirm current local format, price, compatibility, and the exact DLC listing. SEGA’s platform and edition information is on its purchase guide.

How to choose between a pass and one pack

There is no single best purchase route for every player. The choice depends on whether you already own the game, whether you want one specific crossover or a bundle, and whether the desired content is released on your platform.

Best Value
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Amazon Exclusive Edition - Nintendo Switch (Renewed)
  • READY, SET, WARP! Race across 24 tracks and warp to 15 CrossWorlds with Travel Rings, a unique gameplay mechanic that transports the iconic characters from the Sonic and SEGA universes into new dimensions. Use unpredictability to your advantage as you change the landscape of each race!

  • You do not own the game: Compare the base game listing with the edition that bundles the first Season Pass. Do not pay for an edition upgrade if its included content is not useful to you, and check whether the listing is for the original Deluxe package or Season 2 Digital Deluxe.
  • You already own the base game and want several first-pass collaborations: Compare the first Season Pass listing with the separate pack listings. SEGA confirms both purchase routes, but the current value depends on your regional store price and which packs you actually want.
  • You only want one guest character or crossover: Look for the standalone collaboration pack on your platform. Confirm it names the content you want; another pack’s characters and items are not included merely because the packs belong to the same series.
  • You are interested in Season Pass 2: Treat its six announced collaborations as a lineup with staggered release dates, not as six immediately available packs. Check the store’s current product description and the launch status of the particular pack you want.
  • You are buying a physical edition: Check the territory and platform format, then verify DLC separately. Physical base-game availability does not establish that a crossover pass is bundled.

SEGA’s official guide does not provide one globally applicable price for the game, passes, or packs. Store prices can depend on territory and platform, so a price from another region or storefront should not be used as a reliable estimate for your purchase. Use the local platform store to compare current prices and confirm that the add-on is compatible with the game edition you own.

Common DLC problems and what to check

  • The racer or course is missing: Check whether the relevant pack has released yet. This is especially important for Season Pass 2 content with future release dates.
  • You have a pass but no in-game access: For the Mega Man and TMNT packs, SEGA says pass and Digital Deluxe owners need to complete the tutorial before accessing the content.
  • You own a physical or Standard copy: The base game copy alone may not include the DLC. Check the relevant platform store for the standalone pack or pass; SEGA’s Mega Man and TMNT directions specify purchase, download, and restart for Standard/physical owners.
  • The add-on was bought but does not appear: Confirm the purchase was made on the platform and account used to play, verify the download, install available updates, and restart. These are practical checks based on SEGA’s stated update, download, and restart steps; platform account and entitlement rules can differ.
  • You cannot find the same format or listing: Availability varies by platform and region. Check the local platform store and SEGA’s guide rather than assuming a physical or digital option in another market is offered where you live.

What to verify before checkout

For any CrossWorlds add-on, the safest purchase check is a short entitlement audit. Verify the platform and region first, then confirm what your current game edition already includes. Match the store product to the specific pass or pack, and check whether that pack is released or still scheduled. Finally, read the pack description for the characters and other content you want. This avoids the two most common mismatches: buying the base game when you meant to buy an add-on, or buying one bundle while expecting a different pass’s future content.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
