Composer Petri Alanko says CONTROL Resonant’s music was shaped by Dylan’s fragile starting point, his concern for his missing sister Jesse, and the supernatural dangers that reach beyond what players can see. Alanko also describes using found sounds and unusual rhythms to give the game its own musical identity within Remedy’s connected fictional universe.
How Dylan’s story shaped the score
In a September 28, 2026 interview with MusicRadar, Alanko says he began forming musical ideas as Remedy shared concept presentations and early visual material. He took in details from presentations, PDFs and video clips, then started considering sounds, feelings, harmonies and melodies.
Dylan’s situation gave those ideas a different emotional starting point from the first Control. Alanko contrasts Jesse’s clear mission in that game with Dylan’s diminished confidence and sense of purpose at the beginning of CONTROL Resonant. Dylan’s worry about his missing sister also makes their relationship central to the music.

The sibling theme and end-credit song
Alanko connects the sibling material to the pair’s history, including childhood feelings and trauma. He says “The One I Once Knew,” sung by Amelia Jones, began as a complete track and plays over the end credits; the Sibling Theme is a subset of that material.

Music for dangers outside the player’s view
For Alanko, the score does not only describe what is happening in the visible scene. Small musical additions can suggest events or threats elsewhere in the warped city, giving sound a role in conveying the wider world around Dylan.
Alanko describes a shared idea across Remedy’s connected universe: “if something is evil, it affects reality.” He says the games have different musical “DNAs,” even as some qualities recur. In his words, “I think the Remedyverse is woven and knitted into the soundtracks subliminally.”

Found sounds and unusual musical materials
Alanko describes building a library of recorded sounds and turning them into musical material. Examples from his process include striking plastic buckets with silicone water pipe, reusing cassette and tape equipment, and recording a broken seashell with a Zoom H4n field recorder. He says that seashell recording became one of the granular pad sounds in “Tabula Rasa.”

He has also described recording sounds regularly on a phone or small recorder and later reshaping them into rhythm, harmony or melody, according to TechRadar’s October 6, 2026 coverage. These examples illustrate Alanko’s approach; they are not a prescribed method for every composer.
How the music connects Remedy games without making them sound alike
Alanko says recurring musical tendencies can include odd meters, polyrhythms, non-harmonic intervals, acoustic found sounds, distortion, and abundant ambience and reverb. Those are shared colors rather than a single template: he emphasizes that Remedy’s games retain distinct identities.
His explanation of the wider universe is that evil can affect reality, and musical disruption can help express that idea. He says of the material, “The weirder, the better. There’s no ‘too weird’ for that.” For CONTROL Resonant, that can mean a detail in the score hints at something beyond the immediate scene rather than simply reinforcing the action on screen.

The interviews support a clear account of how Alanko connects character, sibling history, found sound and the unseen supernatural world to CONTROL Resonant’s score. They do not establish that he used the exact phrases “absolute evil lurking” or “intelligence and the ability to think” to describe his approach. Those expressions should not be presented as his verified quotations.
The interview coverage identifies CONTROL Resonant as a released sequel to Control and reports that it is playable on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It does not confirm the existence, price or current availability of a physical PS5 edition, or that buying the game includes its soundtrack.
