Most AI rap-duo generators take performer photos and creative direction, then create a short rap song and a video of the people performing it in one workflow. They are different from tools that add visuals to a song you have already recorded. If keeping an existing track unchanged matters, check that distinction first.
What happens when you generate an AI rap-duo video?
In an all-in-one workflow, you provide one portrait for each performer or a shared photo, choose or describe a topic and style, and submit the request. The service generates lyrics, vocals and a beat, then renders the people in a performance scene. Rap Duo AI describes its output as AI-generated lyrics, vocals and beat with lips synchronized to the vocals (Rap Duo AI). RapDuo says its model creates motion and original sound together, while noting that face consistency, lyrics and lip movement can vary (RapDuo).
That describes what these products say they do, not their proprietary implementation. Their feature pages do not establish which models, training data or exact sequence of components power a particular service. “Under the hood” is therefore partly opaque to users.
How does AI lip-sync work?
Lip-sync is its own technical challenge: the mouth movements need to correspond to the timing and sounds of the vocal track. One published research example illustrates a possible approach. In the 2018 paper “ObamaNet: Photo-realistic lip-sync from text”, the authors describe a pipeline with text-to-speech, an LSTM that generates mouth keypoints synchronized with audio, and a Pix2Pix-based network that generates video frames conditioned on those keypoints.

That paper is an example of a research architecture, not evidence that current commercial rap-duo generators use ObamaNet or the same modules. Generating sound and video in one render can make synchronization a goal of that render; a workflow that starts with a finished song instead has to align visuals to the track downstream. Neither approach guarantees that every word or mouth movement will match. CapCut advises checking lyric timing and testing short phrases when using its supported lip-sync features (CapCut’s AI rap-video workflow).

For a song you already recorded
Choose an audio-to-video or editing workflow if the existing track must remain unchanged. The process is more like importing the audio, generating or selecting visuals, trimming scenes to the rhythm, checking captions and exporting. CapCut describes an AI rap-video workflow of this kind; its exact supported features may vary (CapCut).
What to compare before choosing a generator
Photo inputs and identity consistency
Check whether a service accepts two separate portraits, one shared image or reference images. Clear, bright, front-facing photos give the system useful input; RapDuo recommends a clear portrait and says a phone ring light may help with capture (RapDuo photo guidance). Good framing does not guarantee an exact likeness. Inspect a short result for face consistency before building a longer sequence.

Creative control and editability
Compare whether you can supply custom lyrics or only a topic, choose a music style or scene, and control other creative details. Also check what you receive: a finished MP4 or assets you can edit. The available controls vary by product, so confirm the current interface before paying.
Duration, aspect ratio and resolution
Match the output to its destination. Rap Duo AI says duration can range from 5 to 30 seconds depending on the model. Rap Duet lists a standard example of 12 seconds in 9:16 at 480p; that is a vendor-specific setting, not a general limit (Rap Duo AI generator details; Rap Duet). Check the current options for the particular model and intended platform.
Cost and iteration
Compare the displayed credits or price for the exact model, duration and resolution you plan to render. Rap Duet’s product page lists one standard 12-second, 480p, 9:16 example at 28 credits (Rap Duet). Treat that as a product example, not a market-wide rate; credit schedules and settings can change. A short test can reveal issues with faces, hands, scene continuity, mouth timing or captions before you commit to a longer sequence.

Get permission from people whose photos you submit, and check the service’s current terms for the intended use of both the inputs and the generated video—especially before commercial use. The reviewed generator pages require permission or consent, but rules differ by service and may change (RapDuo; Rap Duet).

Not necessarily. Providers themselves note that lyrics, face consistency and mouth movement can vary. With an existing track, check the alignment of visuals and lyrics against the audio; with a generated track, review whether the mouth movements fit the vocals. Do not assume that a synchronized-video feature guarantees a perfect match.
Does an AI rap generator copy a real artist’s voice or song?
The product descriptions cited here characterize their outputs as generated lyrics, vocals and music, but they do not establish how a particular system was trained or prove that every output is unlike existing recordings. Check the service’s terms and the output itself; do not treat a product description as an independent guarantee about voice imitation, originality or rights.
