If you already have HostMonster hosting, start by checking your account at Bluehost: Bluehost says HostMonster and Bluehost are now one and that existing customers can log in with their current credentials. If you are buying hosting now, compare a specific GoDaddy plan with the current Bluehost offer against your site’s needs and the full cost over the term—not just the introductory price. The available official information does not establish a universal winner or a single current HostMonster legacy plan.
Already a HostMonster customer? Start with account access
Bluehost’s HostMonster transition page says, “Host Monster and Bluehost.com are now one.” It directs existing HostMonster customers to log in at Bluehost using their current credentials, while directing new customers to Bluehost.
That statement does not establish that every legacy account has the same plan, renewal price, features, or migration steps. Sign in and review the services attached to your account, then check the renewal notice and any account-specific support or migration instructions before changing providers. If you cannot access the account with your existing credentials, use the official account support route rather than assuming you need to create a new hosting plan.

What a new buyer can compare today
GoDaddy currently lists two distinct product families: shared web hosting and managed WordPress hosting. Their features are not interchangeable, and the included capacity and management tools depend on the tier. Bluehost’s current new-customer plans provide another option to compare, but their published pricing is not evidence of what an existing HostMonster customer pays.
#1 Best Overall
| Option | What the official listing says | What to verify before choosing |
|---|---|---|
| GoDaddy Economy shared hosting | One website, 25 GB NVMe storage, cPanel, a free domain, free email, and a free SSL certificate for one year. | Current offer, initial term, renewal price, SSL after the included year, and any paid add-ons. |
| GoDaddy higher shared-hosting tiers | Higher tiers list increased website counts and storage; SSL terms vary by tier. | The exact site and storage limits, SSL duration or inclusion, and renewal terms for the selected tier. |
| GoDaddy managed WordPress Basic, Deluxe, and Ultimate | The listing includes NVMe storage. Higher tiers list features such as staging, daily backups, CDN, WooCommerce, priority support, and additional developer tools; availability varies by tier. | Which features are included in the specific tier, the current first-year offer, and renewal pricing. |
| Bluehost plans for new customers | The official pricing page lists term-based introductory and renewal rates for its current plans. | The current plan features, initial commitment, renewal price, and whether the plan suits your site. |
| Existing HostMonster legacy account | Bluehost’s transition page provides login direction but not a complete legacy-plan feature or price matrix. | Your own account’s plan, renewal notice, included features, and any account-specific transition steps. |

Choose the right product type for your site
Shared hosting
Shared hosting is the relevant comparison if you want a general-purpose hosting plan and will manage your own site setup. GoDaddy’s Economy listing specifies cPanel, one website, and 25 GB of NVMe storage, alongside domain, email, and time-limited SSL inclusions. Higher tiers list more capacity, but the exact tier matters: do not assume a feature shown elsewhere on the shared-hosting page is included with Economy.
Managed WordPress hosting
If your site runs on WordPress and you want hosting features geared to WordPress workflows, compare GoDaddy’s managed WordPress tiers separately from its shared plans. The official listing assigns features such as staging, daily backups, CDN, WooCommerce, and priority support to particular tiers, rather than promising every feature on Basic. Check the specific plan’s details against the tools you need, including backups and staging.
Bluehost as a new purchase
For a new account, Bluehost’s new-customer plan page is useful for comparing currently listed plan features and term-based prices. Do not treat those rates as the price or feature set of a HostMonster legacy account; existing customers should use their account details and renewal notice.

Compare the full cost, not just the promotion
Both the displayed GoDaddy offers and Bluehost’s published new-customer rates are tied to terms. A promotional monthly equivalent does not tell you the whole cost unless you also know the commitment period and what happens at renewal. Bluehost explicitly displays introductory and renewal pricing; GoDaddy’s listing ties its promotional prices to an initial term.
- Choose the product family and tier that meets your site requirements.
- At checkout, note the amount charged for the initial term and the length of that term.
- Check the renewal rate and billing period, along with any limits on included features such as SSL or backups.
- Add any paid extras you expect to use, then compare the total for the same period across providers.
- For an existing HostMonster account, compare against the renewal amount and plan shown in your own account—not a new-customer promotion.
Exact GoDaddy prices and term lengths can vary with the current offer, and the available HostMonster transition information does not publish a universal legacy renewal price. Verify both directly before making a decision.

How to decide between them
- You already have HostMonster: Sign in through Bluehost, identify your actual service and renewal date, and review any account-specific instructions. Consider switching only after comparing your current plan and renewal cost with the precise replacement plan you would buy.
- You are buying ordinary shared hosting: Compare GoDaddy’s relevant shared tier with Bluehost’s current new-customer plans using site count, storage, included services, initial term, and renewal cost.
- You need managed WordPress features: Compare GoDaddy’s WordPress tiers by the specific tools included at each level; do not use its shared-hosting Economy plan as a like-for-like managed WordPress comparison.
- You are choosing based on speed or reliability: The official pages cited here do not provide an independent head-to-head performance result. They are not enough to establish which provider is faster or more reliable.
