Neither host is a proven overall winner. Hosting Ireland is the more locally grounded option to investigate if you want Irish servers and euro-denominated plans. InMotion offers a broader range of hosting categories and says customers can choose a data-center location. The available provider listings do not establish which host is faster, more reliable, or better supported in independent testing.
How the two hosts differ
The clearest distinction is the choice you need to make: Hosting Ireland explicitly lists Irish servers for its shared and WordPress plans, while InMotion describes a choice of data-center location. InMotion’s overview does not establish which locations are available for every plan, so confirm the location for the specific package you intend to buy.
Both providers list multiple hosting types. Hosting Ireland offers shared and WordPress hosting as well as VPS and dedicated options. InMotion lists shared, WordPress, VPS, dedicated, and reseller hosting. Those categories serve different workloads; compare equivalent hosting types and specifications rather than treating every plan as interchangeable.

Published prices and plan limits
The figures below are provider-listed offers and can change. Hosting Ireland distinguishes its first-month promotion from the subsequent monthly price. InMotion’s listed prices are starting prices, not a matched quote for a particular plan or billing term.
| Provider and plan | Published price | Listed resources and features |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting Ireland Cloud Lite+ | €0.95 for the first month, then €11.95 per month; the plan page also displays €119.45 annually. | 15 GB disk, 200 GB bandwidth, 10 websites, 5 databases, and 50 email accounts. The provider lists Irish servers, cPanel, automatic security patching, malware scanning, and technical support. |
| Hosting Ireland WordPress Standard | €0.95 for the first month, then €16.95 per month; the plan page also displays €169.45 annually. | 10 GB disk, 200 GB bandwidth, 10 websites, 10 databases, and 50 email accounts. The provider lists Irish servers, automatic security patching, LiteSpeed caching, and technical support. |
| InMotion shared hosting | Starting at $4.79; the reviewed pricing page does not establish a comparable recurring total for a selected configuration. | Not stated on the reviewed pricing page for this starting price. |
| InMotion WordPress hosting | Starting at $5.29; the reviewed pricing page does not establish a comparable recurring total for a selected configuration. | Not stated on the reviewed pricing page for this starting price. |
The displayed annual figures for Hosting Ireland are not simply 12 times the subsequent monthly rates; check the provider’s checkout and plan terms to understand the billing amount and period. Do not compare the euro and dollar entry prices as if they were equivalent: currencies, introductory offers, billing terms, renewal prices, and included resources differ or are not established by these starting figures. Confirm current plan limits and any fair-use terms before relying on them.
Which host suits a small business in Ireland?
For a small business whose customers are mainly in Ireland, Hosting Ireland is a reasonable first option to investigate if Irish server locations, euro pricing, and its listed plan limits fit the requirement. Check the exact server location for the selected product, then compare the recurring cost against the resources and support arrangements you need.
Rank #2
InMotion may merit consideration if you want to compare a wider set of hosting categories or value selecting a data-center location. Its overview describes migration and upgrade options, but you should verify availability, location, included services, and ongoing price for the specific plan before deciding.
Choose a plan for the workload, not the headline price
For a basic website or small business site
Start by identifying how many sites, databases, and email accounts you need, along with the storage and bandwidth requirements. Hosting Ireland publishes those limits for Cloud Lite+ and WordPress Standard; the InMotion starting prices alone do not specify comparable resources. A low entry price is not useful if the package lacks capacity or features you need.
For a WordPress site
Compare WordPress plans with WordPress plans, checking storage, bandwidth, site and database limits, caching, management, and the full billing term. Hosting Ireland lists LiteSpeed caching and the limits shown above for WordPress Standard. The reviewed InMotion pricing page gives a WordPress starting price but does not establish equivalent included resources or a like-for-like recurring total.
For a resource-intensive application
Compare VPS or dedicated plans with equivalent specifications and management levels. Both providers list options beyond basic shared hosting, but the available listings do not supply a matched set of specifications or prices for those categories. Request or check the exact configuration rather than inferring capability from the provider’s broader product range.

What the listings do—and do not—prove
Hosting Ireland lists automatic security patching and malware scanning on the relevant plans. InMotion promotes performance, security, and support features. These are provider descriptions, not independent security audits or controlled comparisons.

A meaningful performance comparison would need comparable plans, site builds, workloads, and visitor locations. Without that evidence, neither provider can be ranked as faster, more reliable, or better supported based on the listings alone.

What to verify before paying
- Server location: Confirm the data center for the exact plan, especially if your visitors are concentrated in Ireland or elsewhere.
- Full price: Check the billing period, promotional duration, renewal amount, and any checkout charges. Treat Hosting Ireland’s first-month offers separately from its subsequent monthly prices.
- Plan capacity: Match storage, bandwidth, site, database, and email limits to your requirements; read applicable fair-use terms.
- Support and management: Confirm the channels and level of hands-on help included with your chosen plan. Hosting Ireland describes phone and ticket support for WordPress Standard; a listing does not establish response quality.
- Upgrade path: If you expect growth, verify the available upgrade options, the process, and the resulting price for the next hosting tier.
Which should you choose?
Investigate Hosting Ireland first if Irish server locations and euro-denominated plans are central to your decision and its published limits suit your workload. Investigate InMotion if its broader listed range or data-center choice better matches your needs. In either case, decide using the exact plan’s location, resources, support terms, and recurring cost—not a promotional or starting price alone.
