Horizon Bank’s current product page calls the offer Building & Contents Insurance and Building & Contents Plus—not “Home Contents Plus.” For an owner-occupier in a strata or similar scheme, the clearest specific statement is that its Contents Insurance includes reasonable temporary-accommodation costs, subject to additional limits, exclusions and conditions. Plus also advertises a building safety net, but the page does not establish that this feature applies to contents-only cover.
What Horizon Bank’s product page says
Horizon Bank presents combined Building and Contents Insurance, with Building & Contents Plus as its highest level of cover. The page summarizes cover for theft and vandalism; flood, rainwater run-off, storm, storm surge and tsunami; fire, including bushfire; emergency repairs; visitors’ belongings; and liability in some situations. These are summaries, not a complete list of insured events or policy conditions.
Horizon Bank says it acts under its own Australian Financial Services Licence and under an agreement with Insurance Australia Limited, which issues the insurance under the CGU brand. The bank describes its information as general advice and directs customers to the applicable CGU Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and Target Market Determination (TMD). Horizon Bank’s Building & Contents Insurance page was accessed on 7 October 2026.

Horizon Bank says that if you have Contents Insurance and own and live in a home that is part of a strata or similar scheme, CGU covers reasonable temporary-accommodation costs. The page also says additional limits, exclusions and conditions apply.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
This is a useful strata-specific indication, but it does not spell out the full contents definition, explain how the strata building policy interacts with a lot owner’s policy, determine whether a particular fixture is covered, or establish how a claim would be settled. Those answers depend on the PDS and your Certificate of Insurance.
What Building & Contents Plus adds
Horizon Bank’s live page advertises these figures and features for its products. They are summaries, not guarantees for every policy: the PDS, Certificate of Insurance and selected options govern individual cover.

| Feature | What Horizon Bank’s page says | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Building safety net | Plus provides an extra 25% above the building sum insured if the home needs rebuilding or repair. | The wording concerns the home or building. Do not treat it as a 25% increase to the contents sum insured unless the applicable PDS says so. |
| Temporary accommodation | The public summary compares two years with Plus and 12 months with Standard. | Confirm how the duration applies to your cover type and circumstances. The page separately describes reasonable accommodation costs for an owner-occupier in a strata or similar scheme with Contents Insurance; it does not establish that the Plus duration automatically applies to contents-only cover. |
| Visitors’ belongings | Up to $2,500 for visitors’ belongings, excluding money, damaged by a covered event at home. | Check the PDS for conditions and exclusions. |
| Legal liability | Up to $20 million in some situations. | Check which situations, exclusions and conditions apply. |
| Portable contents | Optional cover; up to $10,000 per item unless listed separately for more, subject to other limits and exclusions. | Check the option selected, any item-listing requirements and the applicable limits. |
| Electric motors | CGU says it covers electric motors for up to 15 years after manufacture, provided they are not under warranty or used in a business. | Confirm the policy wording and any other applicable conditions. |
The figures above are attributed to Horizon Bank’s page as accessed on 7 October 2026. Its public summary does not provide the full policy wording, so it cannot resolve every condition or confirm how a feature applies to a particular policy.
What remains unclear for contents-only cover
If you want only contents cover, do not assume that every feature highlighted alongside Building & Contents Plus applies to your policy. In particular, the advertised 25% safety net is described in relation to rebuilding or repairing the home, not as extra contents cover. The page’s strata note establishes reasonable temporary-accommodation costs for an owner-occupier with Contents Insurance, but does not establish that the Plus-versus-Standard duration comparison applies unchanged to a contents-only policy.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
The page also does not answer which fixtures belong to the strata building policy and which might be treated as your contents, or whether your contents remain covered while you are away from home. Use the PDS and your Certificate of Insurance to answer those questions for your policy rather than relying on the general product summary.
How to check whether it suits your unit
- Match the policy to your situation. Confirm that the documents apply to an owner-occupier in a strata or similar scheme and to the cover type you intend to buy—contents-only or combined building and contents.
- Check the contents definition and strata boundary. Look for how the policy treats your belongings and any lot-owner fixtures, and compare that with the strata building insurance documents. The Horizon Bank summary does not define that boundary.
- Verify benefits and limits in the policy documents. Check the temporary-accommodation trigger and duration, insured events, exclusions, excesses, listed-item limits, portable-contents option and claim-settlement basis in the applicable PDS and Certificate of Insurance.
- Review the TMD and your schedule. Horizon Bank directs customers to the relevant TMD and Certificate of Insurance. Confirm the option choices, sums insured and excess shown for your own policy.
- Ask for clarification where the documents do not settle a question. For example, ask specifically whether a fixture is treated as contents or part of the strata building, and whether an advertised Plus feature applies to contents-only cover.
How to set a contents amount—and interpret the calculator FAQ
Horizon Bank’s FAQ asks, “Can I insure for more than your online building and contents calculator says?” Its answer is that the calculator is a guide and customers are responsible for insuring for full replacement value. The bank also says that if the insured amount exceeds the repair, replacement or rebuilding cost, CGU pays the actual cost. This FAQ addresses the online building and contents calculator; it does not make a building-rebuild estimate equivalent to a contents inventory or contents sum insured.

For a contents policy, work from the cost of replacing the belongings you want insured and check how the PDS defines settlement. The product-page calculator answer alone does not establish the contents valuation method or settle how any individual claim is calculated.
What the available evidence cannot establish
The linked Horizon Bank/CGU PDS could not be retrieved, so the current policy wording for the relevant start or renewal date has not been verified here. A CGU/ANZ Home Insurance PDS dated July 2023 surfaced in search, but it is an ANZ document, not Horizon Bank’s policy, and its wording should not be substituted. For a decision about eligibility, fixtures, exclusions, excesses, claim settlement or strata-building interactions, rely on the documents issued for your own Horizon Bank policy.
