Lofty Sky Games and co-publisher NAGA Publishing have moved Hope in the City’s launch one day later, to November 11, 2026. The October 15 announcement also introduced an Xbox trailer, confirmed Xbox pre-order and pre-install availability, and revealed that the game will arrive in Xbox Game Pass on day one.
Why Hope in the City’s release date changed
The publishers said the one-day shift is tied to a special announcement planned for the Golden Joystick Awards in London. No further details about that announcement were provided, so the confirmed change is the new November 11, 2026 release date.
The Xbox trailer is the game’s main console-focused promotion so far. Xbox listings are already accepting pre-orders and allowing pre-installation ahead of launch.

What the game is about
You play as Hope Song, a 17-year-old artist who returns home to find her apartment ransacked and her parents missing. Her investigation is built around observing scenes, making sketches and connecting clues into evidence rather than simply following a conventional action-game objective list.
The story takes place in Shenyang, Northeast China. The city is presented as an active part of the mystery, not merely a background setting, so locations and local atmosphere are central to how Hope pieces together what happened.

Demo and language support
Steam offers a demo for players who want to try the investigation before release. An updated version was scheduled for Steam Next Fest on October 19, 2026, adding Japanese and Traditional Chinese to the existing English, Simplified Chinese and Korean options.
The publisher describes the English version as fully voiced. The announcement does not specify whether every language receives full voice acting, so language support and voice coverage should be checked separately when selecting a version.

Xbox players can pre-order and pre-install before launch, then play on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox PC. Day-one Xbox Game Pass access means subscribers can start without buying the game separately while the title remains in the service. Xbox Play Anywhere is listed, allowing a qualifying digital purchase to work across supported Xbox console and PC versions, with cloud saves included in the Xbox feature listing.
Steam
Steam players have a separate purchase option and can use the demo ahead of launch. The published material confirms the November 11 date and language additions but does not state Steam pricing, achievements or cross-save support.
