An unnamed Honor wide-format foldable is reportedly in development, with a January launch expected and a larger-than-7,000mAh battery among its rumored features. Honor has not announced or named the device, and the January year is not stated in the report; January 2027 is an inference based on the report’s October 7, 2026 update.

When might it launch, and what could it cost?
PhoneArena says the foldable is scheduled to launch in January but does not give a year in that sentence. Since the report was updated on October 7, 2026, January 2027 is a reasonable inference—not an explicitly stated date.
The reported starting price is CNY 9,999, which PhoneArena translates to about $1,470. That price and the expectation that the new line will replace the Vs series, including price-wise, are rumors rather than confirmed plans.

Could it compete with the Galaxy Z Fold 8?
The report presents the Honor device as a potential rival to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Apple iPhone Duo. A 4:3 inner screen, if accurate, would be a notable part of the comparison: screen shape can affect how reading, video, and multitasking feel, but the available leak does not establish real-world performance or usability.

PhoneArena reports that Honor foldables are not officially sold in the United States and that obtaining one takes logistical effort. The report does not establish where the rumored model will be sold, so U.S. availability—and availability in other markets—remains unknown.
What can buyers consider while they wait?
Honor’s Magic V6 is an existing flagship foldable, but it is a separate product from the unnamed wide-format model. The leak does not establish when the rumored phone will be announced, what markets it will reach, or whether its reported specifications will survive to launch.
