In Fortnite Battle Royale v42.40, added October 15, 2026, the Honey Sprite is found through dynamic loot rather than a guaranteed map coordinate. Search Pumpkin chests first, then check ordinary chests, smashed Pumpkins and available Cheat Codes. After you equip it, ranged-weapon damage has a chance to spawn bees at the location you hit. Sprite Shrines can reveal nearby Sprites, but Sprites are disabled in competitive modes.
Where to find the Honey Sprite
The Honey Sprite entered the Battle Royale loot pool with Fortnite v42.40 on October 15, 2026. Its availability depends on the current event and loot configuration, so the following are current routes, not permanent guarantees.
1. Search Pumpkin chests first
Current acquisition guidance identifies Pumpkin chests as the best reported source. Prioritize them when you land, especially if you are deliberately hunting the Sprite rather than simply looting normally.

2. Check ordinary chests
Regular chests can also contain the Honey Sprite. Search them while rotating instead of abandoning the hunt after the first Pumpkin chest fails to produce one.

3. Smash Pumpkins
Smashed Pumpkins are another reported way to obtain the Sprite. Include them in your route when a named location has several pumpkins close together.
4. Enter Cheat Codes when available
Cheat Codes are also listed as an acquisition route. Their availability can change with the active event or playlist, so treat them as an additional opportunity rather than a guaranteed replacement for chest searches.

Is there a fixed Honey Sprite location?
No authoritative source establishes one guaranteed Honey Sprite coordinate or a single point of interest where it always spawns. Sprites roam, and their appearance comes from the active loot and event systems. A named map location may be useful for finding Pumpkin chests or shrines, but it should not be described as a permanent Honey Sprite spawn.

Use a Sprite Shrine to narrow the search
- Find a Sprite Shrine during the match.
- Interact with the shrine.
- Use the revealed nearby Sprite information to search the surrounding area.
- Collect and equip the Honey Sprite if it appears, then confirm that its icon or power is active in your inventory.
The shrine reveals nearby Sprites; it does not guarantee that the one revealed will be Honey. It is therefore a locator tactic, not a fixed-coordinate solution.

What the Honey Sprite does
Epic describes the power as: “Chance to spawn bees at the hit location upon dealing damage with a ranged weapon.” In practical terms, a successful ranged hit can create an additional bee effect where the target was struck. Because the trigger is chance-based, bees will not appear on every hit.
How to activate the power
- Find the Honey Sprite through the current loot routes or a shrine-assisted search.
- Equip it during the match so its Sprite Power is active.
- Deal damage with a ranged weapon.
- Watch the hit location for the possible bee spawn and use the resulting pressure to disrupt the opponent’s position or movement.
The effect is tied specifically to dealing damage with a ranged weapon. Do not assume that melee attacks, missed shots or simply carrying the Sprite will create bees.

How to use Honey Sprite effectively
Apply ranged pressure from cover
Since the power can add an effect at the place you hit, use accurate shots from cover rather than exposing yourself to force repeated low-probability attempts. The Sprite supplements ranged damage; it does not replace weapon damage or guarantee area denial.

Hits on an opponent in a doorway, behind a low wall or near a revive position give the bee effect a better chance to matter than random long-range shots. Keep your normal weapon range, accuracy and ammunition limits in mind.

Account for randomness
Plan as though the weapon is doing its ordinary damage and regard bees as a possible bonus. This prevents a failed proc from turning into an unnecessary push or a lost elimination opportunity.

Epic Player Support states that Sprites can be found and equipped during a match to grant a Sprite Power, but “Sprites are not available for competitive modes.” The Honey Sprite guidance therefore applies to supported Battle Royale playlists, not competitive tournaments or ranked formats where Sprites are disabled. Playlist rules can change with future updates.
Honey Sprite compared with other Sprites
If you are choosing between Sprites, compare the decision using the trigger, result and availability rather than assuming every Sprite works the same way.

Quick troubleshooting
- No Honey Sprite after several chests: Loot is randomized; move to another chest cluster, smash nearby Pumpkins and look for a Sprite Shrine.
- A shrine did not show Honey: A shrine reveals nearby Sprites, not a guaranteed Honey Sprite. Continue searching the revealed area and other loot sources.
- Bees did not appear after a shot: The effect is a chance, not a guaranteed proc. Confirm that the hit dealt damage with a ranged weapon and keep playing normally.
- The Sprite cannot be found in your match: Check the playlist. Sprites are not available in competitive modes, and event loot pools can change between updates.
What changed with Sprites
Sprites were introduced with Chapter 6 Season 1 on December 1, 2024, as roaming creatures that provide unique effects. Honey Sprite is a later addition to that system, arriving with v42.40 rather than being part of the original Sprite roster.
