Hokko Life has no gameplay cheat codes documented in the sources reviewed. The “codes” players discuss are creator codes for visiting other players’ stores. You can manage multiple saves from the main-menu save-slot option, and reach the abandoned mine by repairing the broken pickaxe outside it with Sally.
Does Hokko Life have cheat codes?
No gameplay cheat codes are documented in the sources reviewed. A player guide uses “creator code” to mean a code for visiting another player’s store—not a code that grants items, money, or other gameplay advantages. 666reddog’s Hokko Life Guide on Steam Community describes entering these codes at the department building.
How to create or switch between multiple saves
The player-authored guide reports that the main menu has a save-slot option for creating and selecting saves. Use that in-game option rather than editing save files to switch between playthroughs.
- Return to the main menu.
- Choose the save-slot option.
- Create a new slot or select an existing one to continue that save.
The same guide reports this Windows save folder: %AppData%/Wonderscope/Hokko Life/SaveData. The guide’s author notes they are not part of the development team, so treat file-management advice as community guidance, not an official guarantee. Back up saves before handling local files; the guide also raises concerns about Steam Cloud reliability, but does not establish a universal cloud-save behavior.

An older Team17 Early Access FAQ said multiple saves were unavailable at that earlier stage. That time-specific answer should not be taken as the current save-slot behavior reported by the later player guide.
How to reach the abandoned mine
The route below comes from Game Source Entertainment’s Japanese-language guide for the Japanese Nintendo Switch release, published December 29, 2022. It describes the mine behind town, up at the hill’s upper level.

- Build stairs to reach the upper level of the hill behind town.
- Pass the torii gate and continue up to the abandoned mine.
- Pick up the broken pickaxe outside the entrance and take it to Sally to have it repaired.
- Use the repaired pickaxe to break the rock blocking the mine entrance.
The Switch game is also listed by Nintendo, which gives September 27, 2022 as its release date. That is distinct from the Japanese Switch release date stated by Game Source Entertainment.
How to mine ore and progress deeper
Light the mine
The mine is dark. The publisher guide says to return to Sally to learn the mining-lantern recipe, craft lanterns from materials, then place them inside the mine so you can see while exploring.

Break harder rocks with stronger tools
Use the pickaxe to mine accessible rocks. The guide says harder rocks farther inside require a stronger pickaxe; better tools open access to additional ore types, including silver and diamond. It does not establish exact ore locations, mining quantities, tool recipes, or respawn timing, so those details should not be assumed from this route.
Game Source Entertainment’s How to Mine Ores guide says ores can be mined repeatedly. Its instructions are tied to a Japanese regional guide published in 2022, so check in-game prompts for the recipe and tool requirements in your version.

Using creator codes on consoles
The community guide says console players need cross-platform sharing enabled to use creator codes from other platforms. Team17’s March 13, 2023 patch notice reports fixes involving creator codes not displaying on downloaded creations for Switch, Xbox, and PC. That notice documents fixes at the time; it does not confirm present-day service availability or identical behavior across every platform and version.
