The HOKA Clifton 11 is a comfortable, protective neutral road shoe best suited to easy runs, daily miles, and walking. Independent reviews describe a soft, smooth ride, but find less bounce and energy return when the pace rises. It is a sensible choice if comfort matters more than a lively feel; runners seeking a responsive workout shoe may prefer a different option.
What is the HOKA Clifton 11?
HOKA positions the Clifton 11 as a neutral daily road trainer. Its official Thailand product page lists a compression-molded EVA midsole, Smooth MetaRocker geometry, a refined mesh upper, a Durabrasion outsole, and a double-lace-lock system. The shoe is designed for everyday miles, rather than specifically for speed sessions or racing. HOKA Thailand’s Clifton 11 specifications
T3 reports that the rearfoot-focused Active Foot Frame and MetaRocker carry over from the previous version. HOKA Senior Director of Performance Footwear Bekah Broe described the changes as refining fit, upgrading the engineered mesh upper, and enhancing the sockliner for a smoother, more comfortable ride. That is HOKA’s description of its design intent, not independent proof of the resulting performance. T3’s Clifton 11 launch coverage
Is the Clifton 11 good for everyday running?
For easy and steady running, the reviews point to comfort as the shoe’s main strength. Tom’s Guide’s reviewer reported a soft, mellow feel during easy and steady training runs, including a longest run just over 10 miles. The same review found the ride less rewarding when pushing faster: the shoe did not return as much energy as the reviewer wanted. These are that reviewer’s wear-test observations, not a guarantee for every runner. Tom’s Guide’s Clifton 11 review
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
RTINGS’ testing likewise found strong overall cushioning, particularly at the heel, but poor energy return and disappointing bounce. It characterizes the ride as comfort-oriented and relatively flat rather than lively. Its testers also found good stability overall, though less than the Clifton 10. RTINGS’ Clifton 11 review
Walking is another plausible use: Tom’s Guide’s reviewer said the shoe worked well for walking and spending time on their feet at work. If you want one pair for easy runs and everyday wear, that versatility may matter more than its limited snap at faster paces. If workouts depend on a springy, energetic ride, the reviews give you reason to look elsewhere or try alternatives in person.

How does the Clifton 11 fit?
RTINGS found its sample true to size and reported more toe height than in the Clifton 10. That is a useful starting point, not a universal fit guarantee: foot shape, preferred running-sock thickness, and regional sizing can all affect the right choice. Try the shoe on if you can, especially if you have a specific width or toe-volume requirement; the available review evidence does not establish a width recommendation for every foot. What do the Clifton 11’s specifications and lab measurements show?
The published figures are not perfectly aligned because they come from different sources, sizes, and measurement methods. HOKA advertises an 8 mm heel-to-toe drop; RTINGS measured a 10.2 mm drop in its tested sample. Treat the former as the manufacturer’s specification and the latter as a measurement of that sample, not as interchangeable figures. HOKA Thailand’s specifications RTINGS’ measurements
| Measure | HOKA Thailand listing | RTINGS test sample |
|---|---|---|
| Heel-to-toe drop | 8 mm advertised | 10.2 mm measured |
| Heel stack | 42 mm, men’s M10 | 41.9 mm measured |
| Forefoot stack | 34 mm, men’s M10 | 31.7 mm measured |
| Weight | 292 g, men’s M10 | 261.1 g for RTINGS’ sample; its review does not identify this as the same size as HOKA’s listing |
HOKA Thailand also lists a women’s W8 at 38 mm heel stack, 30 mm forefoot stack, and 236 g. T3 reports sample weights of 282.8 g for men’s and 236.4 g for women’s shoes, without establishing that these are the same sizes or methods as HOKA’s listed figures. Do not infer a single universal shoe weight from these market- and sample-specific numbers. HOKA Thailand’s specifications T3’s reported sample weights

How does the Clifton 11 handle wet or warm conditions?
RTINGS rated breathability less positively and reported that its tested shoe took 36.2 hours to dry fully after wetting. That is a lab result under its test conditions, not a prediction of drying time in every climate or household. If your runs are often hot, humid, or rainy, this is a trade-off worth weighing alongside the cushioning. RTINGS’ breathability and drying assessment
How does the Clifton 11 compare with the Clifton Pro and Clifton 10?
Clifton 11 versus Clifton Pro
Tom’s Guide’s reviewer found the Clifton Pro more resilient and bouncy than the Clifton 11. That makes the Pro the more relevant comparison if your priority is an energetic feel, while the Clifton 11’s case rests on comfort for easy running and walking. The reported preference comes from that review’s experience and should not be treated as a universal result for every runner.

Clifton 11 versus Clifton 10
RTINGS found the Clifton 11’s heel softer and its stability somewhat lower than the Clifton 10, while still rating the 11’s cushioning strongly and its overall stability well. If you are considering an upgrade, this is a trade-off rather than a straightforward improvement: the newer shoe may suit someone who values a softer heel, but the cited testing does not show that every Clifton 10 wearer will prefer it. Other shoes to consider
T3 names the Brooks Ghost 18, ASICS Gel-Nimbus 28, Saucony Ride 19, New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080 v15, and Nike Pegasus 42 as competing versatile trainers. That list identifies alternatives, not a tested ranking. Compare current versions in your market for fit, intended pace, cushioning feel, and price rather than assuming one is the universal winner. What does the Clifton 11 cost?
Price depends on market and date. HOKA Thailand lists the shoe at 5,990 Thai baht on its product page, accessed in 2026; that is a local listing, not a global price or assurance of today’s price elsewhere. T3 reported launch prices of £140, $155, €165, and AU$280 in its 2026 launch coverage. Those are launch figures for the named markets, not current quotations. Is the HOKA Clifton 11 worth it?
It is worth considering if you want a cushioned, neutral shoe for comfortable easy runs and walking, and you do not need a particularly bouncy ride. The independent evidence supports its comfort and protective feel more clearly than its appeal for faster running. Before buying, check the fit on your foot and the current price in your market; the specification and weight figures vary by source and sample.
