The HMD Vibe2 5G and Ai+ Nova 2 5G are close on several listed basics, including Android 16, a 120Hz HD+ screen, a Unisoc T8200 chipset and a 6,000mAh battery. The clearest documented differences are their listed memory and storage options, rear-camera configurations and update commitments. HMD’s India product page listed the Vibe2 at ₹13,999; Ai+ prices vary across comparison listings, so there is no dependable single price gap without checking the exact variant and seller.

How the listed specifications compare
Screen, chipset and battery are close on paper
Comparison listings put both phones in a similar display class: HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, with screen sizes reported around 6.74 to 6.75 inches. They also list the same Unisoc T8200 chipset. These similarities do not establish identical real-world performance: no controlled performance test is available here.
Both are listed with 6,000mAh batteries, but capacity alone does not show how long a phone lasts between charges. Actual endurance depends on usage and other conditions; no comparable battery-life test is established by these specifications.
#1 Best Overall
- The following mobile network providers are confirmed to be compatible at this time: AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket, Tracfone. Other carriers cannot be confirmed to be compatible. Please confirm compatibility with your carrier first.
- Add new functionalities with available outfits.
- 50 MP camera with Selfie Gestures and Selfie slo-mo.
- HMD Fusion is quite the looker, even in its standard, see-through outfit. It’s serving you an ultra-slim body and a raw, no-frills aesthetic. Elegant and industrial. So when you don’t need any extra functionalities, you can enjoy the au naturel look.
- Product does not include a wall charging adapter. A USB-C cable is included. Product should only be charged using the included USB-C cable and a charging adapter with a charging capacity of 5-33 Watts (Lower rated wattage will result in longer charge times).
Storage and camera listings favor checking the exact SKU
HMD’s product page lists 128GB storage with either 4GB or 6GB RAM. Ai+ comparison listings include a lower 4GB/64GB option as well as 6GB/128GB. A 4GB/64GB Nova 2 is not a like-for-like alternative to a 4GB/128GB Vibe2, even if the prices appear close. Check the RAM and storage shown on the seller’s specific listing before comparing offers.
The camera descriptions differ: HMD states dual 50MP rear cameras and an 8MP front camera, while Gadgets Now lists a 50MP + 2MP rear setup for Ai+. The available comparison details do not establish the Nova 2’s front-camera resolution. Camera resolution figures alone also do not demonstrate image quality.

Update policies are not directly equivalent
HMD states that the Vibe2 runs Android 16 and will receive two years of quarterly security updates from global launch. Gadgets Now reports one year of OS updates and two years of security updates for the Nova 2. Those descriptions come from different sources and are not fully equivalent: in particular, the reported Ai+ update period does not specify the same quarterly security cadence.

These figures do not support a fixed claim that one phone is always cheaper. HMD’s official page is the primary source for its displayed price, while the available Ai+ figures come from comparison pages and vary by configuration or listing. HMD’s availability also depended on the product-page variant and delivery PIN code. Check the live price, seller, stock and exact RAM/storage configuration for your location before deciding.

Choose the Vibe2 if its documented configuration and update cadence suit you
The Vibe2 is a reasonable fit if you want a listed 128GB base configuration and value HMD’s stated quarterly security-update cadence. That preference only holds if the model is available to your PIN code at a price that works for you.

Consider the Nova 2 when its exact listing offers better value for your needs
The Nova 2 may make sense if the specific variant you can buy offers the RAM, storage and camera setup you want at a competitive price. Confirm its exact specification and the seller’s current offer rather than relying on a comparison page that may refer to a different configuration.
Make the final comparison on equal terms
- Match RAM and storage first; the listed 4GB models do not have the same storage capacity.
- Compare the current seller price for each matching configuration, not an MRP or an older comparison-page snapshot.
- Check delivery availability for your PIN code and confirm that the chosen variant is in stock.
- Weigh the update statements as reported by their respective sources rather than treating them as identical promises.
- Use the camera configuration as a specification check, not as proof of photo quality.
On the evidence available, neither phone is a universal winner. The better buy depends on the same-tier price and availability you can actually get, alongside whether the Vibe2’s published storage and update details or the Nova 2’s exact retail configuration better match your priorities.
