The HMD Vibe2 5G Wine Red Diwali Edition is not a substantiated hardware upgrade over the standard Vibe2 5G: the reported change is a festive finish. Its reported ₹10,499 price is also conditional, not a confirmed price for every buyer. TelecomTalk’s October 3, 2026 report says the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale starts October 9 and that the price includes applicable bank offers. If you already own a Vibe2 5G, there is no clear performance reason to switch; if you have an older phone, judge the deal against your needs and the final checkout price.
What changes in the Diwali Edition?
The Wine Red Diwali Edition is presented as a new festive design for the HMD Vibe2 5G. TelecomTalk reports no major hardware changes, so there is no substantiated reason to expect faster performance, better cameras, or longer battery life than the standard model. Unless HMD publishes edition-specific specifications, treat it as a color variant, not a refreshed phone. TelecomTalk’s October 3, 2026 report describes the offer and edition.
What does the ₹10,499 price actually mean?
The ₹10,499 figure is TelecomTalk’s reported sale price for the Wine Red edition during Flipkart’s Big Billion Days Sale, which the report says begins October 9, 2026. The report was published October 3, before the stated sale start, and says applicable bank offers are included. It is therefore an upcoming, conditional offer—not a verified checkout price or a price every shopper can claim.
HMD’s India product page lists the standard Vibe2 5G at ₹13,999 against an MRP of ₹19,999 and shows 4GB/128GB and 6GB/128GB configurations. That is a separate official listing, not confirmation of the Diwali edition’s final sale price or stock. Check the live listing, selected configuration, bank eligibility, and seller before paying. HMD’s India Vibe2 5G product page carries its current listing.

What hardware are you getting?
HMD’s specification page describes the standard Vibe2 5G hardware below. The edition report does not identify a different specification set for Wine Red.

These specifications describe capabilities, not independent performance results. A 50MP rating alone does not establish camera quality, and battery capacity does not determine real-world endurance. HMD says talk time of up to 24 hours is based on third-party laboratory tests; that figure should not be read as typical battery life. HMD’s technical specifications include the hardware, box contents, and support terms.

Should you upgrade from a standard Vibe2 5G?
No, not for a documented performance or capability improvement. The available reporting identifies a new Wine Red festive look, not a change to the core hardware. Consider it only if you specifically want that finish and the actual eligible price makes sense to you; otherwise, the standard Vibe2 5G offers the same substantiated core proposition.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is it an upgrade from an older phone—or the earlier HMD Vibe 5G?
That depends on what is holding your current phone back. HMD’s Vibe2 specifications include a 120Hz HD+ display, Unisoc T8200, 6,000mAh battery, and Android 16. These may be relevant if your present phone is slower, has a worn battery, lacks 5G, or no longer meets your software needs, but specifications alone cannot establish that this is the best replacement for you.

- [360-degree rotatable ring mount] with multi-angle support, it makes watching videos and films both convenient and comfortable, offering an enviable viewing experience.
- 3D multi-directional shape change, depending on different light and angle
- PC hard back panel + soft silicone frame + four corners Shock Airbags
- The frosted surface prevents most fingerprints and the 3D design is stylish
- The ring mount features a magnetic ring, allowing you to use it in your car or for other magnetic applications
HMD describes the earlier Vibe 5G as a 5G phone with clean Android positioning and two years of quarterly security updates. The Vibe2 has a documented 120Hz display, T8200 chipset, and 6,000mAh battery specification set, but that comparison does not make it a universal upgrade: your current phone’s condition, battery health, performance, and the price you can actually obtain all matter. See HMD’s Vibe 5G page for the earlier model’s positioning.

How to decide before buying
- Confirm the final price: Check whether the ₹10,499 offer is live, whether your payment method qualifies for the bank offer, and what the checkout total is.
- Check the exact version: Verify Wine Red versus standard color and whether the listing is 4GB/128GB or 6GB/128GB. Do not assume the edition has a different configuration.
- Compare display priorities: The screen offers 120Hz refresh but only 720 × 1600 resolution. Smooth scrolling and sharper detail are different priorities.
- Assess storage needs: HMD lists 128GB internal storage on its current product page and microSD expansion up to 1TB; system software occupies some internal space.
- Check local 5G support: HMD lists supported bands, but network compatibility and coverage depend on your operator and location.
- Compare your current phone, not just the launch name: Battery condition, performance, software needs, and the cost of replacing your phone determine whether an upgrade is worthwhile.
