The Hitachi R-VX410PT9 is a 375L top-freezer refrigerator, but CHOICE marks it discontinued. Its published specifications include a 125L freezer, 250L refrigerator, claimed energy use of 308 kWh per year and a selectable storage zone. Those figures help assess whether the design suits your needs; they do not establish current stock or independent test performance. CHOICE identifies a 2022 test, but its accessible listing does not show the detailed scores.
What the R-VX410PT9 offers
Hitachi’s March 2021 product sheet describes this model as a top-freezer refrigerator with inverter compressor and dual-fan cooling. The manufacturer also lists LED lighting, tempered-glass shelves, a mould-proof door gasket and a Triple Power Filter. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent findings about everyday cooling performance.

External dimensions alone do not confirm a safe or practical fit. Check the instruction manual for installation clearances, measure the route into the kitchen, and account for ventilation and door swing before arranging delivery. The product sheet warns that models and specifications may change without notice.
Selectable zone and ice tray
The manufacturer says the selectable zone can be configured for soft-freeze, chill/meat or refrigerator use. This offers storage flexibility, although the product sheet does not establish independent test results for the zone’s temperature accuracy. The movable twist ice tray can be repositioned to free storage space; Hitachi describes it as movable for more convenient and efficient use of space.

Shelves and filtration claims
Hitachi claims each tempered-glass shelf can hold up to 100 kg. The product sheet also reports that its Triple Power Filter removed seven named odour components and that 99% of bacteria trapped in the filter were sterilized after 24 hours using the filter alone, with testing attributed to Boken Quality Evaluation Institute. Those narrowly scoped manufacturer claims do not demonstrate whole-fridge sterilization, food safety or general odour performance in household use.
Energy use and independent review evidence
Hitachi’s 2021 sheet and CHOICE’s listing report claimed consumption of 308 kWh per year; CHOICE also lists a four-star energy rating. These are published model figures, not a prediction of an individual household’s electricity use, which can vary with use and conditions.

CHOICE identifies 2022 as the test year, but its accessible page restricts the expert rating and detailed results to members. The available listing does not disclose scores for freshness, temperature stability, evenness or range, response to outside temperature, noise, or running cost. Availability, price and warranty
CHOICE marks the R-VX410PT9 discontinued, so treat availability as uncertain and confirm that any listing is for this exact model before considering a purchase. The accessible CHOICE page shows A$1,028 and a five-year warranty, but it does not establish that the displayed price is a current offer. Check seller terms and warranty coverage for the specific unit and market; do not assume a discontinued model has current stock or support on the same terms as a new appliance.

Who should consider this refrigerator?
The published layout may suit someone seeking a top-freezer format with a 250L refrigerator compartment, 125L freezer, and a zone that can be switched among storage modes. Decide based on measured fit, current availability, the seller’s warranty terms and any verified independent performance data you can access. If reviewing alternatives, compare capacity and compartment split, required installation dimensions, energy figures, storage flexibility, warranty and live price rather than relying on headline capacity alone.

Use the Hitachi instruction manual for the R-VX410PT9 and related models for operation and safety instructions. It says maintenance work must be carried out at a workshop by well-trained maintenance workers; do not treat user cleaning guidance as authorization to perform repairs.
