There is no evidence-based universal winner between the Hisense UR8S and “Samsung Neo QLED” as a whole. The UR8S is a specific 2026 RGB MiniLED TV, while Neo QLED is a Samsung product family; the documented comparison here is with the 2025 Samsung QN90F. Match the exact models, sizes, local specifications and prices before choosing. Hisense advertises a higher game-mode refresh-rate figure for the UR8S, while Samsung’s QN90F page lists Glare Free and up to 165 Hz. Those are manufacturer specifications, not results from a controlled side-by-side test.

First, identify the TVs being compared

“Samsung Neo QLED” does not name one television with one fixed specification sheet. It is a product family. Features and specifications can differ by model year, screen size and country, so a comparison of the UR8S with the entire family would be too broad to support a reliable buying verdict.

The clearest documented example in this comparison is Samsung’s 2025 QN90F. Samsung’s US page describes a 50-inch QN90F, while its 2026 interim report discusses a broader Neo QLED 4K range. Neither source establishes that every QN90F size or regional version has exactly the same features as the US 50-inch model. Hisense’s regional UR8S page lists its own set of sizes and features. Confirm the full model code on the product label or retailer listing rather than relying on a shortened name.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The source pages are useful for identifying advertised features, but they do not establish how the two exact regional models perform beside one another. In particular, they do not provide comparable independent measurements of brightness, reflection handling, color, motion or input lag. Treat the specifications below as a starting point for choosing what to verify, not as a lab-tested ranking.

What the published specifications establish

Detail Hisense UR8S Samsung Neo QLED example: QN90F
Model and date Part of Hisense’s announced 2026 RGB MiniLED range. Hisense range announcement. Samsung identifies the cited US 50-inch QN90F as a 2025 Neo QLED 4K Mini LED TV. Samsung US QN90F page.
Resolution and display category 4K RGB MiniLED, according to the regional product page. 4K Mini LED, marketed as Neo QLED.
Sizes stated in the cited product material 65, 75 and 85 inches on Hisense Middle East’s UR8S page. These are the sizes listed on that regional page, not a guarantee of availability elsewhere. Hisense UR8S regional product page. The cited US page is for the 50-inch QN90F. Samsung’s 2026 interim report describes Neo QLED 4K models across a 43-to-115-inch range; that is a family-level range, not a list of QN90F sizes. Samsung 2026 interim report.
Refresh-rate claim Advertises a native 180 Hz game mode. Confirm the supported resolution, input and mode on the exact local model. The cited US QN90F page specifies 120 Hz, up to 165 Hz. Confirm the conditions and supported modes for the exact size and local model.
Reflection-related feature Hisense advertises anti-reflection/glare-free features on its UR8S regional product page. Samsung lists Glare Free for the cited QN90F.
Processing and contrast features named by the manufacturers Hi-View AI Engine RGB. NQ4 AI Gen3 processor, Neo Quantum HDR and Quantum Mini LED Pro contrast.
Color claim Hisense says RGB MiniLED can achieve “up to 100% of BT.2020 colour coverage.” This is a manufacturer claim, not an independent measurement cited here. A directly comparable color-coverage measurement is not stated on the cited Samsung product page.
Comparable independent measurements, current local price and warranty terms Not stated in the cited Hisense pages. Not stated in the cited Samsung materials.

Samsung’s interim report says its Neo QLED 4K portfolio covers sizes from 43 to 115 inches, but this should not be read as saying that one model is sold in every size. The report and product page also do not make a direct performance comparison with the UR8S.

There is a similar scope distinction on the Hisense side. The 2026 announcement describes the company’s broader RGB MiniLED range as spanning 55 to 116 inches across the series; that is not a promise that the UR8S itself is available in every one of those sizes. The Middle East UR8S page specifically lists 65, 75 and 85 inches. Treat those listings as regional information, then verify what is actually sold where you live.

How RGB MiniLED and Neo QLED should—and should not—guide a choice

The product names point to different manufacturer approaches, but the labels alone do not tell you which television will look better in your room. Hisense presents the UR8S as RGB MiniLED and advertises color reproduction at the source. Samsung describes the QN90F as a Neo QLED 4K Mini LED TV, with named processing, HDR and contrast features. Those descriptions explain how the manufacturers position the products; they are not comparable test results.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For the UR8S, Hisense’s “up to 100% of BT.2020 colour coverage” statement is explicitly its own claim. It does not establish measured color volume, accuracy in a particular picture mode, or how the set handles difficult HDR scenes. Likewise, Samsung’s feature names do not quantify the QN90F’s brightness, contrast or color performance against the UR8S. A buyer should look for independent testing of the exact size and model code, performed under comparable conditions, before treating either technology name as a picture-quality verdict.

Coverage claims also need context. “Up to” describes a manufacturer’s stated maximum, not a guarantee that every scene, picture preset or unit will reproduce the full color space with equal accuracy. A useful review should explain its measurement method and picture settings, and ideally discuss color accuracy as well as coverage. A larger coverage number alone does not tell you whether skin tones look natural or whether HDR colors are mapped as intended.

Choose by the way you will use the TV

For gaming, verify compatibility—not just the headline hertz figure

The advertised refresh-rate figures make gaming a natural point of comparison: Hisense lists native 180 Hz game mode for the UR8S, and Samsung lists 120 Hz, up to 165 Hz for the cited QN90F. The figures are not enough to determine which set is more suitable for a particular console or PC. They do not, by themselves, tell you what resolution is supported at each rate, which HDMI inputs accept a particular signal, whether variable refresh rate is supported in the mode you need, or what input lag to expect.

  • Check the exact local model’s manual or specification sheet for refresh rates at the resolution you plan to use.
  • Confirm which HDMI input supports the desired gaming mode and whether any setting must be enabled.
  • Check the specific variable-refresh-rate formats supported by the local model, rather than assuming compatibility from the brand or product family.
  • For a PC, verify that your graphics card, cable and game can output the required resolution and refresh rate. The TV’s advertised maximum does not guarantee that every source can use it.
  • Look for an independent input-lag measurement for the exact TV and chosen mode if responsiveness is a priority. The official pages cited here do not provide a comparable measurement.

If the exact UR8S supports the resolutions and inputs your gaming setup needs, its advertised 180 Hz mode may be relevant. If the QN90F’s verified modes fit your setup, its lower headline maximum does not by itself make it the wrong choice. The practical outcome depends on the model, signal and mode—not the number in isolation.

Think about the source you actually own. A gaming PC may be able to output modes that a console does not, so a maximum rate could matter to one buyer and make no difference to another. Before paying extra for a rate or feature, confirm that the source, cable, input and game can all use it. The figures on the manufacturer pages are advertised television capabilities; they do not promise a particular frame rate from a game or device.

For a bright room, compare reflections and brightness separately

Both product pages mention reflection-related features: Hisense advertises anti-reflection/glare-free features for the UR8S, and Samsung lists Glare Free for the QN90F. This is a useful point of comparison, but the presence of similarly worded features does not prove equal performance. The cited official information does not provide controlled measurements showing which screen better suppresses reflections, nor does it establish comparable peak brightness.

Consider where windows and lamps sit relative to the screen, then seek a review that tests reflections and brightness on the exact size and model being sold in your market. If you can view both in person, use the same room lighting and similar picture settings; showroom modes and lighting can make a casual comparison misleading. A feature label is a reason to investigate, not a substitute for a result under conditions like yours.

Reflection reduction and brightness solve related but different problems. A coating or feature intended to reduce glare does not establish how bright the image gets, while a brightness claim does not show how distracting a window reflection will be. When evaluating a review, check that it treats those as separate questions rather than relying on a single “bright room” label.

For movies and HDR, seek comparable measurements and viewing results

Samsung names Neo Quantum HDR and Quantum Mini LED Pro contrast on the cited QN90F page. Hisense identifies RGB MiniLED and its color-coverage claim on the UR8S page. These descriptions do not settle which TV renders HDR highlights, shadow detail, color gradients or tone mapping more convincingly. No same-condition HDR brightness, color accuracy, color volume or contrast measurements for these exact models are established in the cited material.

When reading reviews, make sure they cover the exact regional model and screen size, and check whether the reviewer reports measurements as well as viewing observations. A number from a different size, year or market may not transfer to the TV you are considering. If reviews are unavailable for your exact SKU, treat conclusions about a closely named model as provisional rather than assuming the specifications are identical.

Look for discussion of both measurements and real viewing, including how a set handles bright highlights beside dark areas, shadow detail, gradients and the tone mapping choices available to the viewer. A specification name such as “HDR” does not, on its own, establish support for every format or demonstrate how a specific film will look. Confirm the formats and features listed for your local version if they are important to your sources.

For seating off to the side, check viewing-angle performance

The official material cited here does not establish comparative viewing angles for the UR8S and QN90F. If several people watch from seats spread across a wide room, seek an independent review that measures or clearly evaluates changes in contrast and color away from the center seat. Do not infer off-axis performance from “RGB MiniLED,” “Neo QLED,” or the screen’s anti-reflection label.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For streaming and everyday use, check the local smart-TV details

The cited official product information does not provide a like-for-like comparison of regional apps, software-update policies or long-term support. Do not choose on assumptions about a brand’s smart platform. Check the app store or local product page for the services you use, and verify whether the TV supports the features you need in your country. If you use an external streaming box, confirm that your planned setup works with the TV’s inputs and the remote-control features you expect.

Support is also local. Check the warranty length and conditions, who provides service, and how repairs are handled in your area. These terms can vary by market and retailer, and the product pages cited here do not establish a universal difference between the brands. Keep the warranty and return information with your price comparison so a lower sticker price is not treated as the whole cost of ownership.

Compare the exact local models before paying

Start with model codes, not just the product names. Record the full code, screen size and country for each candidate, then confirm that the listing, official product page and any review refer to the same version. The UR8S size list on the Middle East product page is regional. Samsung’s 50-inch US QN90F page is a specific US product page. Availability and specifications can vary across markets.

  1. Find the full model number. Ask the retailer for the complete SKU or check the product label and official local page. A listing that says only “UR8S” or “Neo QLED” is not enough to verify the exact version.
  2. Match screen size. Compare TVs of the size you intend to buy. Do not apply a feature or test result from a different size unless a reliable source confirms it applies to your model.
  3. Confirm the features you need. Use the local specification sheet or manual to verify refresh-rate modes, inputs, HDR support, smart-TV features and any other must-have. The cited pages do not resolve every regional variant or technical detail.
  4. Find testing for those exact models. Look for independent, comparable tests of reflection handling, brightness, HDR, color, viewing angles and gaming response. If a test uses another market or size, note that limitation.
  5. Compare current local prices and terms. Check same-size offers at the same time, including delivery, return policy, warranty and service arrangements. Prices and terms are market-dependent and are not supplied by the cited product materials.
  6. Choose the better fit for your priorities. Give more weight to features and evidence that affect your actual room and devices than to a maximum specification you will not use.

For retailer listings, verify that the advertised model code matches the official product page before ordering. A search result or product name alone cannot establish current stock, the exact regional variant or the warranty attached to the offer.

There is no supported price winner to name here: the cited official materials do not state comparable current prices, and retail offers vary by country, size and date. Compare same-size TVs at the same time, and include delivery, return terms and warranty coverage. If one television costs more, decide whether the specific verified features and performance evidence justify the difference for your use; do not assume that a family name or technology label proves better value.

When comparing listings, make sure a discount is attached to the same size and model year rather than a related set with a similar name. Also check whether the offer is for a regional variant with different support or warranty terms. If you cannot verify those details, treat the offer as unconfirmed rather than using it to declare one TV the cheaper choice.

What the available evidence can support

The available official specifications support a narrow comparison: Hisense advertises a 4K RGB MiniLED UR8S with a native 180 Hz game mode on its regional page; Samsung describes the US 50-inch 2025 QN90F as a 4K Neo QLED Mini LED TV with 120 Hz, up to 165 Hz, Glare Free and named HDR and processing features. Hisense also makes a manufacturer color-coverage claim for the UR8S. These facts can help you shortlist models and identify what to check next.

They do not support calling either television the overall picture-quality winner, declaring that every Neo QLED is equivalent to the QN90F, or claiming that a specification applies to every size and region. No controlled side-by-side test of the exact regional TVs is established here. If you cannot find reliable testing for your specific pair, base the decision on verified local features, your source devices, room conditions, price and purchase terms—not on an unsupported assumption that one brand or display label guarantees the better result.

The pages and Samsung interim report were checked on 10 October 2026. Product availability, listings, prices, local model codes and support terms can change, so confirm them with the manufacturer and seller when you are ready to buy. For a useful head-to-head review, insist on an exact model and size match, disclosed test conditions, and measurements that can be compared fairly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Hisense UR8S better than Samsung Neo QLED?

There is not enough comparable independent evidence here to name a universal winner. UR8S is a specific 2026 model, while Neo QLED is a family. Compare it with a named Samsung model such as the 2025 QN90F, using the exact local size and SKU.

Does the UR8S really have a 180 Hz refresh rate?

Hisense advertises a native 180 Hz game mode for the UR8S. Check the local model’s manual for supported resolution, inputs and modes; the advertised maximum does not mean every source or game can use it.

Which TV is better for gaming, UR8S or QN90F?

Hisense advertises 180 Hz native game mode for UR8S. Samsung’s cited US QN90F page lists 120 Hz, up to 165 Hz. Those headline claims do not establish input lag, VRR support or supported resolutions for every mode. Verify the exact variant and your console or PC requirements.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What sizes are available for the Hisense UR8S?

Hisense Middle East’s UR8S page lists 65-, 75- and 85-inch sizes. The 2026 RGB MiniLED range announcement covers 55 to 116 inches across the series, not necessarily UR8S. Check regional availability before buying.

Is Samsung Neo QLED the same as the QN90F?

No. Neo QLED is Samsung’s product family. The QN90F is one 2025 model; the cited US page describes the 50-inch version. Features can differ by model, size and market.

Which TV is cheaper, and which has better value?

No comparable current price is established here. Compare same-size local listings at the same time, and include delivery, returns, warranty and service terms. Value depends on the verified features and performance relevant to your needs.

The Bottom Line

Buy based on the exact local models, not the technology labels. UR8S is the specific 2026 Hisense model; Samsung Neo QLED is a family, and the documented example here is the 2025 QN90F. Hisense advertises a native 180 Hz game mode and up to 100% BT.2020 color coverage; Samsung lists Glare Free and 120 Hz, up to 165 Hz for the cited US QN90F. These are manufacturer claims, not a controlled comparison. Verify the local SKU, size, gaming modes, independent performance tests, current price and warranty before choosing.
