The Hisense TopLift HD5026TLP pairs a 50-pint rating with a top-removable water tank, a built-in pump and Matter-over-Wi-Fi support. Its unusual tank design and smart-home controls make it appealing, but the Matter integration has a meaningful limitation: a hands-on reviewer found that Apple Home showed neither a full-tank alert nor live room humidity. That makes it a capable connected dehumidifier, not a fully informative smart-home device.
What the Hisense TopLift HD5026TLP is
This review concerns the U.S. Costco model HD5026TLP, identified as item 1956006 in its manual. It is a 50-pint-class dehumidifier with a built-in pump and Matter support. It is not the same product as Hisense Canada’s similarly named TLDH5026PW; specifications for that Canadian model should not be assumed to apply to the U.S. unit.
Costco lists the HD5026TLP as ENERGY STAR certified and compatible with Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa. Its listing also claims coverage up to 4,500 square feet and noise as low as 46 dB. Those are retailer-published claims, not independently verified results from a comparative test.
How much water does it remove, and how efficient is it?
ENERGY STAR’s U.S. product record for the HD5026TLP lists a certified capacity of 49.89 pints per day, an annual energy use of 526 kWh and an integrated energy factor of 2.01 L/kWh. The record’s market date is November 5, 2025, and it was captured October 1, 2026. These certification figures describe standardized product ratings; they do not predict how much water it will collect in a particular home or what the electricity cost will be.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The independent reviewer who used the unit for several weeks during a humid Ohio summer said its tank filled in roughly three-quarters of a day when run at full speed. That is one household observation, not a controlled measurement. It suggests that in very humid conditions, relying on the tank alone may mean emptying it frequently.
Does the TopLift tank and pump make draining easier?
Top-mounted removable tank
The tank is the most distinctive physical feature. Rather than pulling a low drawer from the bottom, the reviewer lifted the reservoir out from the top; its handle extends as it is raised, making it easier to carry to a sink or outdoors. The reviewer also described a side spout that poured in a controlled way. Costco gives the bucket capacity as 18 pints, while Red Dot’s 2026 design entry describes a 9-liter tank. These are the sources’ stated capacities, expressed in their respective units.

Built-in pump and hose
The unit includes a pump and hose, according to the reviewer, so water can be sent to a raised nearby sink or bucket rather than collected in the reservoir. This is useful when the drain point is above the dehumidifier or when frequent tank emptying is inconvenient. The available account does not establish a maximum pump lift height, so check the product documentation and placement requirements before routing the hose to a particular drain.

What does Matter add, and what is missing?
The reviewer reports setting up the device in Apple Home by scanning its pairing code and also using it with SmartThings at the same time. The review also names Google Home and Alexa as compatible ecosystems. In the Apple Home interface the reviewer described, the device appeared as a dehumidifier with on/off and fan-speed controls. Fan speed could be adjusted in 10% increments.
The important omission is status: the reviewer says Apple Home did not show whether the tank was full or provide a live room-humidity reading. Consequently, a routine based on the dehumidifier’s own reported humidity—or an alert that it needs emptying—was not available through the reported Apple Home integration. A separate room humidity sensor could provide a reading for humidity-based automations, but no particular sensor was tested or recommended in the review.

The reviewer wrote, “I set up several of those automations and have had no issues.” That is a report of their own setup, not a guarantee that every home, hub or automation will behave identically.

In the reviewer’s combined living, dining and kitchen area in humid Ohio summer conditions, the dehumidifier was described as effective. The reviewer valued the top-lift tank, mobility, drainage choices and smart-home automation potential, and described nighttime noise as low. These impressions come from one household and were not measured against competing models under controlled conditions.

The reviewer’s main practical reservations were the absence of a water-full indicator in Matter and a tank they wished were larger. The reviewer rated the unit 4.5 out of 5; that is an individual review score, not an aggregate rating.
Who should consider this model?
- It is a stronger fit if a top-removable tank is more convenient for your setup, you can use the included pump hose to reach a drain, or you want basic Matter-connected control of power and fan speed.
- Think twice if your smart-home routine depends on the dehumidifier itself reporting room humidity or tank-full status to Apple Home. Those were absent in the reviewed integration.
- Plan around the tank if you expect very humid conditions and do not have a convenient pump-drain route; the reviewer’s tank filled in roughly three-quarters of a day at full speed, though your conditions may differ.
- Do not treat the coverage or noise claims as test results. Costco lists up to 4,500 square feet and as low as 46 dB, but the available hands-on account does not independently verify either figure.
Price and availability
An August 2026 republished review said Costco members could buy the unit for $199 at launch. That is a dated launch-era price, not a current quote. Check Costco for current price and stock before deciding.
