The Hisense PX4-PRO is a premium ultra-short-throw projector with pixel-shifted 4K, RGB triple-laser light, and gaming support up to 1080p at 240Hz. Its strongest case is a large living-room picture with flexible high-refresh gaming; the main caveats are that it does not project native 4K, 4K tops out at 60Hz, and room geometry matters more than the short throw ratio might suggest. Whether it is worth the price depends on your screen placement, gaming priorities, and local VIDAA app availability.

What kind of projector is the Hisense PX4-PRO?

The PX4-PRO is a fixed-focus-class ultra-short-throw (UST) projector intended to sit close to the screen rather than at the back of a room. Hisense advertises a 0.20:1 throw ratio and an 80–200-inch projection range. Those figures describe the product’s stated capability, not a guarantee that every room can accommodate every image size; the projector, screen, and image geometry must fit together. Hisense’s product listing and Projector Reviews’ review cite the 0.20:1 ratio.

Its imaging system uses RGB triple lasers and DLP, but its 4K picture is pixel-shifted rather than native 4K imaging, according to RTINGS and What Hi-Fi?. That distinction is relevant if native 4K is a strict requirement; it does not, on its own, settle how sharp the image will look from a normal viewing distance.

Brightness, color, and contrast claims

Hisense’s July 2026 announcement rates the PX4-PRO at 3,500 ANSI lumens, claims 118% BT.2020 color-space coverage, and lists a 6,500:1 contrast ratio. These are manufacturer figures, not independent test results. The contrast figure is associated with the projector’s seven-step iris. Hisense’s announcement provides the claimed figures; Projector Reviews also describes the iris and the claimed contrast.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Independent impressions are more conditional. Projector Reviews reports favorable dark-scene contrast and reduced cooling noise in its evaluation. RTINGS says the PX4-PRO improves on the prior PX3-PRO in contrast, while noting that competitors can outperform it in some brightness, contrast, or color comparisons. RTINGS updated its brightness and effective-contrast sections on August 17, 2026 after changing the tested iris setting from 2 to 1, so its findings reflect that setting change rather than a single unqualified result. These reviewers’ observations should not be confused with Hisense’s advertised specifications.

HDR formats

Hisense promotes Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced alongside Dolby Atmos. Independent reviews identify Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG support; Projector Reviews also reports DTS:X audio capability. Format support is useful, but it does not guarantee identical HDR results across content, screen surfaces, room lighting, and picture settings.

Does the PX4-PRO support 4K at 120Hz?

No—not as a 4K/120Hz projected image. The supported output modes reported by RTINGS and What Hi-Fi? are 4K at up to 60Hz and 1080p at up to 240Hz. RTINGS reports that the projector can accept a downscaled 4K/120Hz signal; that is input compatibility, not 4K/120Hz projection. HDMI 2.1 ports do not change that distinction. RTINGS reports the signal modes, and What Hi-Fi? confirms that 4K gaming is capped at 60Hz.

For console or PC gaming, the practical choice is between a sharper 4K image at 60Hz and a higher-refresh 1080p image, up to 240Hz. RTINGS describes gaming responsiveness as a strength and reports VRR support; What Hi-Fi? also notes ALLM and VRR. If your priority is native 4K/120Hz gaming, this projector does not meet that requirement.

How far from the wall does the PX4-PRO need to be, and what size can it project?

Hisense advertises an 80–200-inch image range and a 0.20:1 throw ratio. The ratio indicates close placement, but it is not enough on its own to determine where the projector will sit or where the image will land. Screen size, aspect ratio, projector placement, and the vertical position of the image all affect whether the picture fits the room. Use Hisense’s placement information for the intended diagonal and measure before buying; do not treat keystone correction as a substitute for correct physical alignment.

  1. Choose the intended image diagonal and aspect ratio, then confirm that the screen or suitable wall can accommodate the image.
  2. Check the PX4-PRO placement chart for that image size and measure the projector position and image height in your room.
  3. Confirm that furniture, ceiling height, and the screen’s mounting position leave room for the projected image to align without relying on heavy keystone correction.
  4. If considering a UST-compatible screen, verify its size, aspect ratio, and material for your specific installation. A dedicated UST screen can be a sensible option, but a suitable wall may also work.

A retailer customer described unsatisfactory fit with a 150-inch screen in a basement with an approximately 93-inch ceiling, including blank areas that keystone controls did not solve. That is one customer’s account, not a general test result, but it illustrates why measuring the projected image and vertical geometry matters. The product listing and Projector Reviews’ review provide product and placement context.

What are the smart TV, connection, and audio features?

VIDAA and apps

The PX4-PRO uses VIDAA, not Google TV. RTINGS and What Hi-Fi? describe its smart platform and built-in app support. App catalogs vary by market and may change, so check the local VIDAA catalog for any service you rely on before purchase rather than assuming availability based on another country’s review.

HDMI ports and audio return

RTINGS lists four HDMI inputs: two HDMI 2.1 and two HDMI 2.0, with eARC on one of the HDMI 2.0 ports. What Hi-Fi? also reports four HDMI inputs and gaming features including ALLM and VRR. If you use an external audio system, account for which input provides eARC when planning how to connect sources. RTINGS’ port details and What Hi-Fi?’s review describe the connections and gaming support.

Built-in sound

Projector Reviews reports a 66-watt, 4.0.2-channel Devialet-tuned system with six drivers and two up-firing speakers, and describes its sound favorably in its review. That makes integrated audio a useful convenience, but it is not the same thing as a dedicated external system. If stronger bass or a separate speaker setup is important to you, plan around external audio and the available eARC connection.

How much does the PX4-PRO cost?

Hisense USA announced a US MSRP of $3,999.99 and availability on July 21, 2026 through its own shop, Amazon, and Best Buy. What Hi-Fi? reported launch prices of $3,999 in the US, £2,499 in the UK, and AU$4,499 in Australia. These are announced or launch prices, not a guarantee of current retailer pricing or stock; check your local market for the price at the time you shop. Hisense’s announcement states the US MSRP and availability; What Hi-Fi? gives the UK and Australian launch figures.

Is the Hisense PX4-PRO worth it?

The PX4-PRO is a better fit for a buyer who wants a close-placement projector, a large image, RGB triple-laser color, and flexible high-refresh gaming at 1080p—and whose room can be measured and arranged to suit the screen. Its feature mix is less compelling if your must-haves are native 4K imaging, 4K/120Hz projection, a particular VIDAA app that is unavailable in your market, or a guaranteed fit for a very large image in a constrained room.

  • Consider it if: you can confirm the image geometry in your room, value 1080p high-refresh gaming, and are comfortable with pixel-shifted 4K.
  • Look elsewhere if: you require native 4K or 4K/120Hz output, or cannot verify that the desired screen size and image height will fit.
  • Before deciding: check the current local price, confirm essential apps in VIDAA, and plan whether the integrated audio is enough for your setup.
