The Hisense HRBF46 is a compact 45 L bar fridge for chilled food and drinks, not a freezer. Its small footprint, reversible door and space for one 2 L bottle suit limited-space storage, but the available independent review listing does not reveal enough performance results to establish how well it controls temperature or handles heat loads. Here are the specifications, fit requirements and evidence to weigh before choosing it.
What the Hisense HRBF46 is—and what the review evidence establishes
Hisense describes the HRBF46 as a white, single-compartment 45 L bar fridge. The Australian specification sheet identifies 45 L as both total and fresh-food capacity and lists manual defrost. It is intended for refrigeration, not frozen-food storage.
CHOICE has a dedicated HRBF46 listing with a 2025 test entry, but several performance details are available only to members. The public listing does not establish whether the fridge scored well or poorly for temperature stability, heat-load processing, noise, or the coldest and warmest sections. It also does not provide accessible results for default-setting performance or 10-year running cost. The existence of a test entry is not itself a performance verdict. See CHOICE’s HRBF46 listing.
Dimensions, capacity and layout
Hisense Australia gives external dimensions of 445 mm wide × 500 mm high × 468 mm deep (W × H × D), and a weight of 13.5 kg. Hisense New Zealand presents the same measurements as 445 × 468 × 500 mm (W × D × H). The figures describe the same orientation; check the order used by any retailer when comparing or planning a space. Hisense Australia lists the HRBF46, while Hisense New Zealand lists its local version.

The interior has one fixed shelf and dedicated storage for one 2 L bottle. At 45 L, this is a small supplementary fridge, so capacity is best judged by checking whether the bottle and the specific containers you use fit around the fixed shelf; the stated volume alone does not describe usable shelf space.
Installation clearances and operating conditions
Hisense Australia’s specification sheet calls for 50 mm clearance on each side, 50 mm at the rear and 100 mm above the fridge. It lists an operating-condition range of 10–43 °C. These are manufacturer-published figures; confirm the applicable local documentation and allow for door opening and access when assessing a proposed location. Energy use and noise: read the labels carefully
The Australian specification sheet lists a four-star energy rating, 80 kWh/year under the label “CEC,” and 69 kWh/year under “PAEC.” CHOICE’s listing shows four stars and 80 kWh/year as claimed energy use. Because the manufacturer labels the two annual figures differently, they should not be treated as interchangeable versions of one measurement. These are published specifications and listing values, not independent measurements established by the accessible review details.
Hisense Australia lists noise at 41 dB(A). That is a manufacturer specification, not an accessible CHOICE noise-test result. The public CHOICE listing does not disclose its noise outcome, so the published figure cannot by itself show how audible the fridge will be in a particular room.

Controls, door and warranty
The HRBF46 uses mechanical temperature control and has a reversible door, recessed top handle and adjustable front legs. Defrosting is manual. These straightforward features may suit buyers who want a basic small fridge, while people seeking a freezer compartment, adjustable shelving or automatic defrost should confirm those needs against another model’s specifications.
Hisense Australia lists a three-year warranty. Warranty coverage and terms depend on market and the product’s local documentation; Hisense New Zealand cautions that specifications can vary between countries even when model numbers match. Check the warranty card supplied with the unit for the applicable terms.

Who should consider the HRBF46?
- Consider it if you need a small supplementary fridge, its 45 L capacity and fixed-shelf layout suit your intended items, and the published clearances fit your location.
- Look for more information or compare alternatives if verified temperature performance, independently measured noise, automatic defrost, or freezer space is essential. The accessible HRBF46 review entry does not answer the performance questions.
- Check before buying if you are outside Australia, or if a retailer lists dimensions, energy figures or warranty terms without explaining the market and labels used.
Hisense Australia displayed A$229 including GST and in-stock status when its product page was crawled, but price and availability change. Check the retailer’s current listing rather than relying on that historical display.
