If Hinge is not working, first check whether the problem follows your account across devices or is limited to one phone, then test a stable Wi-Fi or mobile connection. Hinge’s recommended first steps are to check connectivity and sign out and back in to refresh syncing. The right next step depends on whether the app is crashing, login is failing, a verification code is missing, or matches have disappeared.
Is Hinge down, or is the problem on your device?
Try Hinge on another device if you can, and switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If the same issue appears across devices or other users are reporting trouble, a wider service problem is more plausible; if it affects only one phone or account, start with the symptom-specific fixes below.
Downdetector’s UK page showed no unusual volume of Hinge reports when checked on October 7, 2026. That is a third-party report signal, not official confirmation of Hinge’s service health, and it does not establish whether there is an outage in another region or at another time. No official Hinge live-status page or confirmed current incident was identified.
Hinge notes that a strong connection helps the app sync. Loading a large set of likes, hidden chats, or conversations can also cause a slight delay, so give the app a little time before assuming content is gone.

Fix Hinge when it freezes, will not open, or keeps crashing
- Test the connection. Check that Wi-Fi or mobile data works, then try the other connection if available.
- Close and reopen Hinge. If it remains unresponsive, restart the phone. Apple recommends closing and reopening an app and restarting the device when an iPhone or iPad app stops responding or will not open.
- Install available updates. Update Hinge and your phone’s operating system. Apple recommends checking app and iOS or iPadOS updates; Google’s Android guidance likewise includes checking for app and Android updates.
- If you use Android, force-stop Hinge before considering cache or data changes. Android menu labels vary by phone. Clearing app data may remove locally stored app information, so try less disruptive steps first.
- Reinstall Hinge if the problem continues. Hinge recommends reinstalling to ensure you have the latest app. Reinstalling by itself does not delete your Hinge profile; deleting your account is a separate action inside Hinge.
On an iPhone or iPad, deleting an app can remove locally stored data. That is distinct from deleting the Hinge profile, but consider any local data before removing the app.
Hinge will not let you log in or is prompting you to make a new account
Choose the same sign-in method you used when you created the account: phone number, Google account, or Apple ID. If you registered with a phone number, use that original number. Hinge says choosing a different login method can lead to a new-account prompt instead of opening the existing account.

Hinge verification code is not arriving
- Check that you entered the phone number correctly, including the country code if requested.
- Ask your carrier whether SMS short-code messages are blocked. Hinge also lists prepaid plans as a possible reason a code may not arrive.
- If repeated attempts have locked you out, wait at least 24 hours before trying again. Hinge says it cannot manually override this lock.
Why did your Hinge matches disappear?
A temporary sync delay after an app update can make matches disappear from view. Check your connection, sign out and back in, and allow time for the list to reload. If the matches still do not appear, restart your device or update Hinge. A temporary display problem is not, by itself, evidence that your matches have been permanently deleted.

Contact Hinge support safely
If the steps for your symptom do not work, use Hinge’s Help Center request form or its in-app support options. Include the exact problem, when it began, account contact details, phone model and operating-system version, Hinge app version, relevant screenshots or a screen recording, and the troubleshooting steps you already tried. This gives support the details needed to understand the issue.

Hinge says support is free and available online, and that it does not have a customer-support phone number. Avoid numbers posted by unofficial sites and do not grant anyone remote access to your computer in the name of fixing Hinge.
