To hide an app on a Galaxy S21, open the Home screen’s settings, choose Hide apps on Home and Apps screens, select the app, and tap Done. The app remains installed; hiding removes its icons from the Home and Apps screens, but it does not make the app undiscoverable.
How to hide an app on a Galaxy S21

On the Home screen, touch and hold an empty area.

Tap Settings.

Tap Hide apps on Home and Apps screens.

Select the apps you want to hide, then tap Done.
Samsung’s support instructions cover Galaxy devices generally, rather than a particular S21 software build. The setting’s wording or location can vary by model, region, and software version. If it is not where expected, search Settings for “Hide apps” or consult your region’s Samsung support page. Samsung US and Samsung Canada provide the hide-app steps.

In the hidden-app list, remove the app you want to restore. Samsung describes tapping the red minus icon.

The app’s icons return to the Home and Apps screens. You can use the same menu to change which apps are hidden. Samsung US and Samsung Canada document this route.
What hiding an app does—and does not do
Hiding removes an app’s icon from the Home and Apps screens; it does not uninstall the app or erase its data. Samsung Canada notes that someone may still find a hidden app by entering its name in Apps screen search. Treat this feature as a way to reduce visibility and organize your screens, not as a strong secrecy barrier.

Removing an app shortcut from the Home screen is different: it removes only that shortcut, and the app remains visible in the Apps screen. Choose Hide apps when you want the app icon removed from both screens.
When Secure Folder is a better fit
If you want a separately authenticated space for apps or files, use Secure Folder instead of relying on basic icon hiding. Samsung describes adding apps and files to Secure Folder and setting an authentication method. Its shortcut can also be hidden, but a hidden Secure Folder can still be accessed through Settings, according to Samsung UK and Samsung Australia.

Secure Folder is a different privacy feature, not a guarantee that all traces of app activity disappear. Hiding its shortcut conceals the entry point; it does not make the folder impossible to locate.

Hide an app when you want to remove its icon from view while keeping it installed. Disabling is intended to stop an eligible app from functioning, and Samsung says the option is available only for some apps. Some essential pre-installed apps cannot be deleted.
