Samsung’s Galaxy A34 5G is receiving its Android 16 update with One UI 8.5. Firmware build A346BXXUFFZE6 was released on 8 June 2026 and includes the 5 May 2026 security patch. The rollout and feature set can vary by model, country and network operator.
What the Galaxy A34 update includes
The documented update moves the Galaxy A34 5G to Android 16 and One UI 8.5. Samsung’s firmware history identifies build A346BXXUFFZE6, released 8 June 2026. Its security level is 5 May 2026, rather than a June-dated patch.
Samsung places the Galaxy A34 5G in its quarterly security-update group. That means security releases are scheduled approximately every three months, but the delivery date can differ by region and carrier. Samsung says these packages combine Android fixes from Google with Samsung-specific security fixes.

One UI 8.5 features arriving on the A34
Refreshed interface and Bixby
- A redesigned visual style uses transparent blur effects and floating interface elements.
- Bixby is intended to understand more natural requests, return answers immediately and retain conversation history in its side panel.
Camera and lock screen
- The camera adds three film-like filters.
- Lock-screen photos can be fitted automatically to the available space.
- Interactive wallpapers can be downloaded, and the clock font’s thickness has more adjustment options.
Weather, alarms and voicemail
- The Weather widget gains a precipitation graph and pollen indexes for trees, grass and ragweed.
- Alarms can use backgrounds that respond to weather conditions.
- A time-zone conversion slider makes comparing local times quicker.
- Direct voicemail recording is included where the carrier and region support the feature.
Sharing and connected devices
- Storage Share works across Samsung phones, tablets, PCs and compatible Samsung displays.
- A Smart View shortcut can be placed on the home screen.
- Quick Share controls can limit incoming files to devices signed in to a Samsung or Google account.
Samsung Health and Galaxy Watch features
- Samsung Health can help compose social posts.
- Compatible watches can start meditations remotely.
- Antioxidant measurements are available when paired with a Galaxy Watch8 or Galaxy Watch Ultra; the measurement depends on those watch models, not the A34 alone.
Battery and power management
- The battery-information screen has been redesigned.
- Power saving now offers Standard and Maximum modes, giving a clearer choice between conserving power and restricting more functions.
Security and privacy controls
- Failed-authentication lock adds protection after repeated unsuccessful authentication attempts.
- Identity check protection covers more situations.
- Auto Blocker can be disabled temporarily, then re-enables itself after 30 minutes.

How to check for the update
- Open Settings on the Galaxy A34 5G.
- Tap Software update.
- Select Download and install.
- Read the displayed version, Android release and security-patch date before starting.
- Use Wi-Fi, charge the phone adequately and keep enough free storage for installation. The exact download size is not stated in Samsung’s listed changelog.
If the update is not shown, Samsung may not yet have released it for your country, carrier or exact model variant. Checking again later is safer than installing firmware intended for a different regional model.

Security-support timeline
Samsung launched the Galaxy A34 5G in 2023 with a commitment of up to four generations of operating-system updates and five years of security updates. Android 16 with One UI 8.5 is consistent with that operating-system promise, but the remaining number of updates depends on Samsung’s final support schedule and regional availability.

Storage expansion still works after the update
The Galaxy A34 5G supports expandable storage with an optional microSD card up to 1 TB. Samsung’s launch specifications list 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage or 8 GB RAM with 256 GB storage, depending on market, plus a 5,000 mAh typical battery and a 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
